Ursa looked past Dynamo, smiling as the train's speed slowed.

"I'm not sure I'm ready to do this..." She said to herself.

Not only about going into the Everfree Freaking Forest, but of getting off the train.

Would this gaurd here be as worst as the last?

Her ears drooped and she winced as the train came to a stop.

(Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I was at the movies).

Ursa stirred slightly in her sleep when the train hit a bump. She opened one eye, and found it curious that she was so close to Mike and Dynamo.

It seemed that she was trapped in a cuddle triangle. Or at least, almost.

Her ears perked up at Dynamo's words. She yawned, then sat up, a bit groggy.

"He was trying to protect us." She said shyly, "I admit I don't support vilence, but given the circumstances he was almost forced to do it. As was I." She sighed in shame, ears drooping, "I hope he is alright."

She squeaked and looked at Dynamo, her ears still drooped, "I never thanked you for sticking up for me." She looked down at the ground, "But why would you do that? What have I done that is so worthy to do something like that?"

"Nopony has ever done anything like that for me." Ursa said sadly.

Ursa giggled at Dynamo's comments to the Guard. Finally, they were clear to board. She smiled and turned to the frazzled stallion, "I apologize for letting this happen. But you really should learn to control your temper." She suggested gently. 

"Don't tell me what to do!" He shouted, obviously agitated for his loss. The others boarded, and the train started up. But suddenly she was on the ground again, watching in horror as it sped away.

He came in for a run, but she put up a really strong shield, which blasted him back a few feet.

"Hold on!" Ursa shouted, trotting to the side of the train. The doors were shut closed, and it was moving.

Her horn glowed and they opened automatically. Taking a deep breath, she jumped inside.

"Whew..." Ursa said, rubbing a bump on her forehead, "I was certainly not expecting that." 

Then, head throbbing, she lay down for a nap.

Arrow was not having any of this.

"Listen, I will tell you this again. I'm a guard, I was sent along with these five ponies. Preventing a guard from doing their job is highly illegal, so I suggest you listen."

He stepped up closer to the employee.

"I should also make something clear, if I catch you pushing her ever again, we're going to have a real problem."

The guard huffed, but said nothing more on the subject. Ursa got up, a bit wobbly-hoofed, and decided it would be better if she stayed behind everyone. 

This is what I get for trying to help.

She was, however, surprised that Arrow had spoken up for her.

Dynamo sighed as he nodded in agreement. "That's true when you think about it, Arrow. We don't know how these thieves are and what their aim is. For all we know, they would try and sell the orb, or use it to gain power." He shook his head and shrugged. "It would have been nice if Celestia gave us a little info on who we are dealing with. I guess we'll know in due time." As they made it to the train station, they were suddenly stopped by the guard. He raised an eyebrow as he told them that weapons weren't permitted on the train. His eyes widened as the guard pushed Ursa to the ground. He snarled and took a step forward. "Hey! That was pretty rude, don't you think? All we are doing is going on a quest issued by Princess Celestia, herself. Yet you have the nerve to push a mare to the ground!? What gives you the right? Plus, we were told that only we six have the ability to handle this job." He stopped as Arrow stepped up to make his statement. Just then, Dynamo had an idea. "What if we gave you a challenge? You go against me in a game and if I win, then we can go on the train, no problem. If you win, then we leave without a fight. How's that sound?" He asked in hopes of trying his luck against the old guard. He took a deep breath to keep his cool, but knew he would have to keep a level head if he knew what he was getting himself into. 

She blushed for the second time that day. The two stallions had spoken up for her, but why? What was she to them?

"Do we have enough time to do that though?" Ursa piped up from the back, "Doesn't our train leave soon?"

The guard just ignored her words and stared at Dynamo, "Do your best, little kid. But I'm unbeatable." He cocked.

This suddenly became easier, yet unnerving. She had no weapons so she needed not give any over, but she also suddenly became worried about the guards preventing them from taking the train all together. And the situation was becoming a little stressful as banter began to get a little, well, it was getting tense, she decided to speak, hoping she could provide a solution. "Should we just put our weapons somewhere else on the train, if we can't bring it into the passenger areas?"

Ursa nodded in agreement. But what good would that do if they couldn't even get on the train?

Mike was quite quiet for the walk, but he suddenly chimed in. 

“ Hey look, guys! There is the train station!” It was certainly more packed than when he arrived to Canterlot, and a few of the civilians and employees gave the rag-tag group of bag-laden ponies a few odd glances. An elderly worker gave a disapproving look at Mike and Arrow.

”Sorry, but we don’t allow weapons in here.”

Ursa stepped forward, slightly nervous. She had never been an outspoken pony, but she had to help get them on somehow.

"Please, sir?" Ursa said with a tender smile, "We have to get on that train. And these ponies...they need their weapons. Princess Celestia herself sent us on a mission, you see...we need to be able to defend ourselves."

"Rubbish!" Shouted the gaurd, making Ursa squeak.

"Why would the Princess bother sending a bunch of worthless ponies like you?" 

He shoved Ursa to the ground, "No weapons."

"You bring up a good point, these thieves must be pretty dangerous to have been able to get the orb."

They were at the train station and he heard the employee tell him that he couldn't bring his weapons.

"First of all, I'm a guard, I am required to carry my weapons. Second of all, we're on official business by the orders of Princesss Celestia. I am pretty sure that her laws overrule your little no weapons policy."

Arrow showed the employee his summoning letter.

"Forged, obviously. There is no way you are getting on this train. Now, get lost before I call security."

Ursa shook her head, "I know a few basic protection spells. I should be able to stay in one piece until we have a chance to do something like that."

"No p-p-problem." She blushed at the praise, "My name's Ursa."

Then, seeing Crystal....Ursa walked over to her and placed a hoof around her neck.

"Hey." She said with a radiant smile, "I'm not good with defenses either. So, let's be helpless together! We could protect each other." She suggested with a smile, "Call me Ursa."

Eyes opening and suddenly feeling useful, Ursa levitated the map out of her bag and examined it. It was a special map, a star map.

"If that's over there, and we're right here...there!"  She shouted with a smile, pointing deep within the Forest.

"We should be heading in that direction."

Mike smiled appreciatively at the Unicron known as Ursa. The Earth Pony was about to say thank you, but he was given a slight shove by one of the guards. 

"Oi, you quit daydreaming an get a move on." The large, armoured pegasus barked at him. Mike wisely heeded the guard's advice and caught up with the rest of the group, an overhearing the conversation. 

 

 

"Hey, Don't worry about being useless, I'm pretty sure if we need a map you'd be good at doing that, right miss?" Mike was trying to cheer the Unicorn up, even if he didn't catch her name when Celestia called it out. He trotted over to Ursa, making sure not to get in the way.

"Hey, um... I dunno how to say this, but thanks for the bags."

 

 

"N...N..no problem." Ursa said with a smile, blushing red, "My name's Ursa."

"Ursa." She whispered, one they were outside (thinking he was talking to her). She turned her head and frowned at Crystal, "Why would anypony be cheering us on? Are you some kind of celebrity?" She asked curiously, not meaning to sound rude. 

"I can't believe I was dragged into this. The Princess knew I was weak..."

Celestia frowned at Ursa's comment, "I promise you, you are way more useful than you think you are." She looked at the other ponies, "I leave this to you, now. Gaurds, please help them to the Everfree Forest!"

Dynamo opened his mouth to respond, but no words had appeared. He looked behind him to see Ursa being dragged back into the room by the guards. He wondered why she had run away, but he couldn't stop to ask as Celestia's voice brought him back to the forefront. He had heard about the Everfree forest, but he had always heard that the forest was dangerous. Many ponies had been told to never go into the forest. If they did, then they might not ever return. He shuddered at the thought, but he knew he would be in a group and that they would stick together. He sighed softly to himself in reassurance of that thought. He tilted his head slightly to the side as the Princess mentioned how he and the others were chosen for specific reasons. 'Specific reasons? What does that have to do with this kind of mission?' He couldn't make heads or tails of what Princess Celestia was talking about. He raised an eyebrow as a thought came to mind. 'Does she know our talents and abilities without even knowing us first hoof?" He shook his head as he thought that wasn't possible, but he wouldn't throw out that possibility.

He nods at the Princess mentioning of working together and to head off onto their journey. He looked through his saddlebag to see camping supplies and an assortment of weapons and tools to help them on their quest. His ears perked as Arrow had brought up a good point. "That's true. When a boss is usually far away in a video game, then you know they are considered a threat and we must use extreme caution." He threw the saddlebags onto his back once more and nods in confirmation. "I'm all set and ready to go. I don't know what'll happen on this journey, but just know that I'll have your back in all of this. I just hope that you'll do the same." He raised an eyebrow in surprise at Mike's outburst. "I don't think it's that bad, to be honest. I mean, yeah the saddlebag we've been given is heavy. However, I don't carry much in my saddlebag, unless it's gaming related, so it's not too bad." 

 

"Well, I suppose it correspondents to your talents." She pointed out, "I for one, have a star map and a pocket telescope. How curious!" She turned to the Princess, and shook her head, "I cannot participate in this. Books and Cleverness can only get you so far..."

That's why she had tried to leave. Ursa thought she had been useless.

Seeing his discomfort, Ursa shyly walked over to him and levitated the saddlebags off him and set them on the floor. Her horn glowed a soft blue, and suddenly the bags became lighter.  She hadn't taken anything out, she had just made it less heavy for him. Ursa levitated the bags and placed it on him, "Feel better?" She asked shyly, "You shouldn't discard things. You might not know when you need them." 

What about the others?

Methinks that when they actually leave the castle, then the charecters should start to get to know each other.

"Unfortenetley, I can not tell you more until all of us are present." Her eyes darted to Ursa, as she was being pushed inside by one of the guards. She mumbled something to herself and Celestia then started up again, "The thieves went off into the Everfree Forest." She said, "And, although the Elements of Harmony would be wonderful at retrieving it, I have chosen you six for very different reasons."

The alicorn turned to Dynamo Pad, "That, my little pony, you will have to discover for yourself." 

"Now," She continued, "It is time for you to leave. Trust in one another, and you will succeed!"
