  1. Yeah. I'm familiar with the serials, and I'm familiar with the format if the MLP series'. So, whatever you need, let me know.
  2. Oh! You most certainly /are/! That's a given, no matter what! But we're making them in a way that the voices are multiple voices overlapping. You're /one/ of the voices. But we need more!
  3. Hey, I'm a writer for another audio drama, and a fanfiction writer. I don't have any examples I can show of my MLP stuff as of yet, because my series is ongoing. But I can share fanfiction from other series… my most recent fandom has been TMNT. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/9598306/1/Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Warehouse
  4. We have just cast our Discord. But we still need Silver Lining, Celestia, the Indistinct whispers, and, of course, Luna.
  5. I'd be happy to try out. If you have lines for me, I'll give it a go. If not, here's a SoundCloud ramble of my most commonly used voices: I have more, and can blend accents, (and even have recently been working on mastering Elmo… for my mum. Who is a huge Elmo fan.) So yeah, just send me links so I can try out.
  6. I have been writing for over two decades now in some form or another. And, I'm sure, you did in school, too. Look back on that, see how far you've already come. It'll help drive you to keep going. And, who knows? I've looked at stuff I did fifteen years ago, back in school, and thought "my! That's clever!" And I rewrote it in a more adult fashion. It'll give you practice fixing your work, while keeping it objective. Heck, I look back on only a decade ago's work and /cringe/ from the typos in it! You learn as you go. Take the criticism to heart, but don't take them as bashing. As Ms. Frizzle always says: "Take Chances, get messy, make mistakes!" It's the only way to grow. Try asking the reviewers for examples. For something they can concretely fix. For instance: "in chapter six, you skimmed over a whole part. It felt forced. Try adding details about what she's doing, about her surroundings." Would be a big help. I know I'm lucky enough to have creativity run in my family. So I already have those objective judges right at home (sometimes brutally!). But if and when you don't, you've gotta get it from outside sources. If a reviewer leaves a vague comment, PM them. Ask them for advice on how to fix it. They'll (usually) feel honoured you're taking their advice to heart, and proud that they were able to help somepony else improve themselves.
  7. On the topic of Changelings vs Shapeshifters: In common media and myths, they are different, depending on the continuity you choose. Changelings are (in the original legend/myth/whatever) children of monsters switched with real children and raised by humans. Whereas Shapeshifters change their appearance more at-will. In other more recent media: Changelings are still generally resigned to one form until their true form is revealed, while Shapeshifters are (again) a more at-will shape changer. Really, it depends on how the writer wants to make it. Because you don't HAVE to follow the myths to make a good back story. As long as you explain it well enough within the story, it's sometimes nice to flip common preconceptions on their heads!
  8. Cool. Just be aware, it might take me a day to get lines in, depending on when you send them. I'm usually able to run lines in the mornings as I sleep in the afternoons and work evenings.
  9. OMQ! I can't believe I didn't POST these! I did the lines ages ago, but I guess I didn't post them? Really? LUNA http://soundcloud.com/doctor-mccrimmon/audition-luna/s-O9ycW DERPY http://soundcloud.com/doctor-mccrimmon/derpy-audition/s-VKaQj RARITY http://soundcloud.com/doctor-mccrimmon/rarity-audition/s-k9YZr
  10. Those seem like fairly reasonable rules. I'll be sure to follow them with Twilight's diligence!
  11. http://soundcloud.com/doctor-mccrimmon/silver-spoon/s-5AuQl I'm sorry… Here they are. My net has been a jerk today. Took six tries to upload it.
  12. And to keep it on topic: I'm home now, whenever you want to practice our characters. gotta keep it on track, right?
  13. Sure! I'm still walking home from work, anyway. (And taking twice as long because I keep stoping to type. Lol!) So whenever you're ready.
  14. I'm online now, if you want to call. I'll be online for an hour or two.
  15. That sounds /perfect/! And since you already have my Skype, we can practice together! After all, they have a specific sync to them. And I'm better with only one role of the same accent… I'm worried I'll blur into the other if I do both. It happened when I first started with interacting with myself between roles. It is, of course, ultimately, the OP's decision. But I'm happy to dual with you. (Lame pun, I know… sorry. I just got off work and am a bit… erm… loopy. Lol)
  16. It's fine. We could always split it, of course. (And this is why quoting is such a useful tool. Or at least @ing the intended conversation.
  17. Thanks. And even if I only get one, that's cool.im happy with whatever roles I get.
  18. I put the voice acting request in a different thread, to keep it organised. (I'm rather a Twilight Sparkle, I like order. So go to the Casting Call: Equestria Hidden History. The lines and details for the actors is in that thread.) The thread with the lines: http://mlpforums.com/topic/101150-casting-call-for-equestria-hidden-history/?view=getnewpost And over-the-top? Isn't that Discord all over? But it's fine. Really. He's a younger Discord. Think… Q from Next Generation. That comic relief with a purpose.
  19. Alright. Just send me some lines if you need me. I'll read them tomorrow (bed time for me right now).
  20. Alright! Just added you. (As if there's any doubt… I'm Doctor McCrimmon almost everywhere. If you see that, it's likely me) I'm glad I can help! Maybe on my days off (or during a morning some time), we could practice our voices. You've definitely got talent for imitation, and there are some roles I can get the tone and the inflection bang on, but my vocal range needs some work.
  21. Here's a generic voice sample of various accents and voices I can do: I have a few others in my repertoire, but those are my most common ones.
  22. Your Celestia is a little high, but your CMCs were bang on! Especially Apple Bloom and Scootaloo! I'd love to have you in our series, go ahead and send me an audition for Luna (I think she'd be the best fit for you of the roles we need right now.) Also, if you have a Skype, PM it to me. I have a few roles in the upcoming episodes I think you might do well for. And we may /MAY/ need a new Twilight… so you may be able to try out for her if we do. Even if not, a note for your Twi: raise the pitch a little at the back of your voice, it'll give it that added… something… that will make her that much closer to the original character's voice. Also, your Applejack sounds a touch too much like Apple Bloom. So perhaps work on deepening it a little. The accent is great! But the voice is slightly off… And for Spike, add a teensy bit of gravelly undertone. A trick I use (though my mimicry isn't as good as yours, I admit) is to rasp over the words. (Okay, I'm rubbish at explaining it… -_-' but I hope it helps, anyway!) And know, I'm not judging. I'm just trying to help you improve. You already have a great start, I just know with practice you can be downright brilliant! And I want you to succeed. Because I think everypony should have a chance to succeed.
  23. http://soundcloud.com/doctor-mccrimmon/diamond-tiara-silver-spoon/s-ZknzJ Here are my lines, sorry for the delay. I had a few other things I had to get finished up.
  24. Our series: "Equestria: a Hidden History" is in need of artists and possibly Animators. As well as voice actors/actresses. We currently have three provious stories, if you'd like to see what we're about first. We've recently had a few changes to the cast, and writer. So the feel of the show is shifting towards a more canon feel. And I would like to animate it if possible. If not, that's fair, but we still need artists. Here are the last three episodes: Anypony who wants to animate them, let me know, and I'll be very grateful. And (of course) you will be credited for you work. This includes being named as animator in all future episodes. PM me or Masterchaoss for details. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Oh! As a side note: there will be Discord, so we need some pony good at drawing (and voicing) him! Cheers! Actors: audition in the Casting Call thread: http://mlpforums.com/topic/101150-casting-call-for-equestria-hidden-history/?view=getnewpost
  25. Of course! It's DoctorMcCrimmon@gmail.com go ahead and send them my way. I'll share them with Masterchaoss (the Executive Producer/Director), and we'll let you know what we think. Our final decision will be early next month. We may bump it up if we have everypony cast by then. But it'll probably be definite on the 14th. But I'll let you know well before that if there's any improvement to up your chances, of course!
