  1. *sigh* Got chapter 10 finished and published. I figure doing these in parts will allow me to develop the main story while still showing the fates of the other ponies and they places they aim to protect. Gawd I hope this doesn't suck.

  2. @Fivefs Swordpoint recoiled. Rune Breaker's words cut into him, for he knew there was truth behind them. But he was sure that he had seen a dark aura surrounding Rune Breaker for just a moment... Only a moment. He shook it off, stumbling for words. "...she is all I have. I lost her once, and I won't lose her again." He closed his eyes. "I do not wish to fight. If I could, I wish to find some way out of this. I have spilled enough blood for ten lifetimes... All in the name of my service to the vile princess Omnia." He spat her name as if it were a cancer of which he wished to be purged. He opened his eyes and stared directly at Rune Breaker. "What of you? What is it that you hope to find? Salvation from your demon? Do you hope to save yourself through bloodshed? Or perhaps to appease its will?"
  3. @Fivefs Swordpoint glanced up at the strange unicorn in front of him. "I do not know you, but I sense a great inner struggle. A great evil, clawing away at you. I can smell it, radiating from every pore in your body." Swordpoint stared gravely at Rune Breaker. "It smells like my homeland." Rune Breaker held an uneasy silence. "I am not here by choice. Someone very dear to me is being held hostage to force me to compete. You are either with me or against me, and rest assured that I will take your life if it means saving hers." Swordpoint extended his wings in a show of dominance. "The choice is yours."
  4. Swordpoint examined the contestants around the waiting room. Damn you, Omnia... I should have known she would never let me live in peace amongst the Equestrians... But to kidnap Rainbow... He shuddered lightly. Once this abomination is over, I will have her head. He walked to the center of the room. "My fellow ponies! Why are you participating in such violence?! What could possibly possess you to want to harm your fellow Equestrians?! Never have I seen such wanton bloodlust in this land... Not since I departed from Ponynesia." He was met with several amused glances, and outright laughter from some others. His gaze fell to the floor. It seems I am left with no alternative... My bloody history will repeat itself again. I swear on my life that I will not die here. I cannot... for Rainbow's sake...
  5. If you're going to expand the list, I'd say it's best to bundle Ciela, Leaf, and Neri together. Or to just do Ciela, considering that Leaf and Neri aren't really companions. They don't offer any advice, and they only serve to bolster Link's abilities.
  6. I thought Tatl was one of the more memorable companions. She had a wider personality range than Navi or Fi, and everything about her reflected it. Even her enemy descriptions were written in her specific tone, for example: "It's a White Boe... Just calm down and attack it! Yeah, yeah, yeah... There are just a lot of them, OK?"
  7. Has anypony seen this movie? I found it to be particularly interesting, especially considering that I was into some heavy drugs when I saw it. It's a very eye-opening tale, really. For anyone who hasn't seen it, it tells the story of three young adults who are heavily addicted to heroin. It follows their stories, and tells of how they aim for greatness through drugs, and it shows what it does to them in the end. As a side-story, it also tells the story of the mother of one of the kids, who wants to be a famous model. The mother begins taking these special diet pills which are basically equivalent to meth. I don't want to ruin anything, so I'll let you watch it instead of giving away the ending. I, however, found it to be a very enlightening and realistic tale of how people aim to escape reality through drugs. It's a B-movie, so it isn't particularly well-known, but I would recommend it to anyone who is addicted to something.
  8. Midna has my vote. She had the best personality out of the three listed companions. Yes, she was a tsundere type character, but she still undoubtedly had the liveliest personality. In addition, she was also very important to the storyline, and I fully support a Link X Midna shipping idea. Fi was too... computerized for me. She had no real personality, and was just more of a "help desk" service, in my eyes. Navi... ugh, don't get me started on her. She never really annoyed me as much as she did other people, but she certainly didn't win any medals for best companion. Honestly, my second favorite companion was Tatl, whom you have not listed. She was the fairy companion from Majora's Mask, in case you haven't played it. She was very cynical, and was another tsundere type character, initially being very rude and callous to Link, but eventually warming up to him as she became part of his quest to save the land of Termina. For anyone who doesn't know what a tsundere character is, I've provided a link below. http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsundere

  10. The main thing that drove me to leave my old forum was the behavior of some of the members of it. I was in its Skype chat for awhile, and I quickly grew tired of how I was treated by a couple of the members. Maybe that's petty, but I expect for every brony to treat me with respect, as I will not show rudeness to anyone (in a serious manner) unless provoked. And if I make any jokes which offend someone, I would expect them to ask me to please not do so anymore, at which point I would apologize and stop. Now, I'm a fairly new brony, having only been in the fandom for a few months. One instance in particular which aggravated me was when I responded to a post commenting on how Lauren Faust no longer worked on the MLP series. I said "Wait, when did she stop working on it?" and I was met with someone posting a picture of the Pokemon, slowpoke. Is that really necessary amongst bronies? Must we really be so crude? And what's further, I have nothing against cloppers, but I would prefer they not parade themselves around as cloppers. Throwing it in people's faces further degrades popular opinion of us. I am met far too often with people telling me that I masturbate to ponies and am a sick fuck when I tell them that I am a brony. This is not the case, and it is flat out discriminatory. Our image must be improved somehow, and these intolerant ponies are not helping. This is how I feel.
  11. hero_of_lylat is me. I'm always open to new friends, so feel free! Just mention you're from here, or you'll receive an angry "Do I know you?" message Also, if there's a Skype group for these forums, I'd like to join. I'm literally ALWAYS on Skype, because it's how I communicate with my fellow staff for another website.
  12. Hm. This poses an interesting question. I'm conflicted, because we don't know enough, yet. Arguing for canon: It could very well be canon. We have had no proof otherwise so far. It could easily be recounted by Twilight and friends in her future adventures as a "Remember when...?" Besides, just because it was created by other people than the FiM team does not mean it must immediately be non-canon. For any Zelda fans out there, you may recall that the Oracle series for the GBC was created by Capcom, yet it is still considered canon by Nintendo, even receiving a place in the official timeline shown in Hyrule Historia. </Zelda nerdiness> Arguing for non-canon: Should the show itself introduce paradoxes and contradictions with the canonicity of FiM, the show will most likely be non-canon. However, this is simply a speculative argument, and cannot be confirmed or denied at this time. In all honesty, I must reserve my judgment until I see the show. As of now, I have no way of knowing.
  13. I hate writer's block. I want to finish this chapter, but it's so hard to figure out how to develop the battle...

Well that's the problem. I'm trying, but I just don't know where to go from here. I have three ponies trying desperately to protect Ponyville from the invading creatures, and I know how it's supposed to end, but I don't know how to get it there.

  14. TBH, I bet the first episode of season 4 is going to feature the mane 6 being unsure of how to act around Twilight. And then she teaches them that she's just a regular pony or something. And then happiness and yay. Just my prediction. But I know they're going to make a mention of it.
  15. Howdy. As you can see, I currently have a crudely created OC from Pony Creator. I would prefer something much better. What I'm looking for is: Avvy: Swordpoint (same OC), preferably in a pose facing forward with a stern face. I'd like him without the red suit. Sig: Swordpoint and Rainbow Dash facing front, looking ready to strike. In the background, I would like the night sky with the bottom half of a large moon which looks like it could be the changeling homeworld. Swordpoint's description: A pegasus hailing from the neighboring land of Ponynesia, he is bound by his sense of duty to his princess, Omnia, whom he serves unquestioningly. He has never felt love, friendship, or happiness, and has always lived his life alone. He is a royal guardian in the service of the princess, making him one of her personal agents to her will. He follows her commands without question, and he protects her with his life. His coat is a light brown, with a green mane that has a red stripe through it. His left ear has a small piece missing due to a previous battle. His cutie mark is a rapier. The "changeling homeworld" thing: Part of my story, this dark moon is a dark green and black, and it exudes a black aura. The mere sight of it strikes terror in the hearts of all. I would be greatful to anyone willing to undertake this.
  16. I can honestly say to all Burger King and McDonald's fans... You don't want it. Especially BK. I worked there for awhile, and I will never eat it again. I don't even want to describe how nasty the food is when it's prepared. As for McD's... It's not THAT bad, but it's still not pretty. I currently work at a McDonald's doing overnights. I actually just got off my shift two hours ago and couldn't resist the urge to pony.
  17. I recently saw a post stating that it was confirmed that Twilight will not outlive her friends. What else has been confirmed about her? Do we know if it's permanent? What she'll represent? Etc, etc. I know they just released some episodes with Twilicorn through a DVD, but I haven't seen it. Perhaps it explained more? EDIT: Just found out that the PTS DVD is just five episodes thrown together, and not anything special. Oh, the disappointment...
  18. I was watching Luna Eclipsed yesterday, and I noticed that Luna's guards that pulled her chariot were... well, they resembled bats. Their wings look very batlike, as opposed to the wings of pegasi. This makes me wonder... are they a separate race of ponies altogether? Or perhaps they're just pegasi who serve Luna? The show never explains it, so we're left to speculate. I personally think they're pegasi who serve Luna, and have taken on darker characteristics as a result. But perhaps that's outlandish. What are your thoughts, fellow bronies?
  19. I picked mine because I'm beyond using aliases, so I went with my name plus the initials of the site that I haunt the most often, Zelda Wiki. I feel like aliases are a thing I've grown out of ever since I turned about 18 or 19.
  20. Well, that's overwhelmingly nice to hear! I'm surprised, since most large forums tend to have people who end up stuck up. It's part of the reason why I left forums and went onto wikis. But that's a whole 'nother story. I have no need to advertise the site I work for around here, anyway. Thanks for the kind words, y'all. Oh, and Rainbow is best pony. Just throwing that out there.
  21. So this is my fanfic that I've been working on for over a month, now. I've gotten barely any feedback at all, and I know that the first few chapters are absolutely horrible. Actually, most of the chapters probably suck. I'm hoping that they story is at least gripping, as I plan to do a bunch of editing when I finish with fleshing out the story itself. Synopsis: Twilight discovers an ominous object in the stars. She shows her discovery to her friends and Celestia, but is dismissed by everyone... except Rainbow. The two frantically search for some way to stop the coming disaster, but they fail. Now, with Equestria on the brink of destruction and a strange pony from a faraway land, can they save the world? Or is history doomed to repeat itself? Just some notes: the story has gore, although it isn't grimdark style. It's meant to follow an actual storyline instead of just being as horrible as possible. I draw a lot on the elements of Stephen King, from which I have gathered the philosophy that you can't be afraid to take unfamiliar turns. The heroes never die? Where's the realism in that? But anyways, some of the scenes can be somewhat... brutal. Not like "Cupcakes" brutal, but still... Link below. http://fimfiction.net/story/91031/judgment-day If I could get honest feedback without anyone being rude about it, I'd appreciate it. Half of the responses I get are "You suck" or "This is shitty; give up." Plus, if you do enjoy it, let me know specifically what you liked. Honestly "THIS ROCKS" and "MOAR!" don't really help me because they don't tell me what specifically makes it good or bad. Also, having just joined, I'm not aware of how y'all do the censorship biz. I'm used to typing out the full word and having it censored if it's going to be. If that's not the case, just say so and I'll remember it for the future.
  22. I've just spent some time on another pony forum, and sadly enough, I've got no interest in posting there anymore. The members are rude and disrespectful, and basically embody the complete opposite of what bronies should be. So give me a reason why I should stick around here. Honestly, my first encounter with the brony community has been overall negative, and I'm debating saying "screw the community" and just staying out of it while staying a personal brony. Perhaps you can change my mind.
