Well-after an hour of trying I've come to the conclusion that...I can't bloody well draw for nuts.

The thing is that with drawing it's hard to disconnect yourself from comparing it to other individuals work. We use so much of the left side of the brain, the technical and perfectionist side of us, that we're not used to allowing the right side of the brain to fully function and 'letting go' as it were.
It's really all a mind game if you think about it.
