Oh, this has got to be the most useful tool for spreading silent loathing of others I have ever seen. That it hasn't devolved into a shitstorm is beyond me, but consider me more than willing to make enemies. At least it'll be amusing. People who can't or find no interest in civil debate annoy me. Western democracies may be becoming bloated, corrupt, and inefficient, and corporate fat-cats may be greedy little buggers, but anyone who believes we are on our way to some Orwellian nightmare are paranoid and needs to realize that they're being silly. I believe that we need to have healthy skepticism of our government, however all I see feels like borderline conspiracy theorism and paranoia. I think too many people mistake incompetence and idiocy for malevolence. Obama is a fine president. Not our best, but just about anyone saying he's horrid is being deceived by partisan extremism, and aren't thinking for themselves. Congress is the reason nothing gets done, regardless of popular opinion. GOP, or the Party of No, are a bunch of insane nutjobs. Both sides of partisan politics may be the issue, but GOP has lost any touch with reality it ever had. Anyone who dreams of a Communist utopia has no understanding of how humans in society function and are delusional. Anarchists and Social Darwinists are beyond my understanding, and I'm not sure how they think what they promote is a good idea at all. I don't like transhumanism so far. I'm willing to change my opinion, but so far I feel like they're just techno-chauvinists and purists. America needs to be less Christian and more secular. "In God We Trust" and mention of God in the pledges needs to be removed permanently. The Second Amendment is outdated and should be removed. No one needs a gun anymore. We need to cut down spending on our military severely. NASA needs far more of the budget than we give them currently. We should be paying a lot more attention to the futures of space exploration and colonization. Anyone who doesn't believe in LGBT rights are stuck in the past in as much the same way the racists of the 60s were. America's current economic model should shift towards Ordoliberalist theories that Germany has adopted. Some government oversight of the economy is required for a functioning, healthy economy. Misanthropes grate on my nerves, the brony ones especially. Though I think Anita Sarkeesian thinks a bit too much on certain topics, what she's saying needs to be said, and actual discussion needs to take place. I've never understood the concern over cloppers. Every fanbase has people who are in it for sexual attraction, and even though ours has to do cartoon ponies, there is certainly worse out there. I don't understand the issue with Twilight being an Alicorn. I think the issue with the episode that actually deserves criticism is how out of the blue it was. Twilight being an Alicorn was fine, but it felt far too sudden and rushed. Once she becomes an Alicorn the episode practically rushes to the end. I don't understand the anti-brony argument that 'they're everywhere'. There are other fanbases that permeate other facets of culture just as much, and are referenced just as much. It isn't new, it isn't bad, and it isn't going to go away. Get over it, and move on. I actually like furries (it would be hypocritical to, I am one), and don't believe they're full of 'R34 perverts' and Otherkin. Halo 3 ODST is probably one of the best games Bungie made. Though I do adore Combat Evolved, ODST's attempt at nonlinearity was a refreshing experience that deserves more credit and prominence in the market. Never cared for Fallout 3. Too much space with too little to do. Also, bland green everything. Everything. Never got into Skyrim that much. Not as bad as Fallout, but same issues. I like Dubstep. Even worse, I like Skrillex. I don't loathe pop bands or country, I just don't care about them. I thought Carlos Mencia was funny. George Carlin was an awesome comedian but a paranoid nutjob. Rarity, though generous, I still consider somewhat vapid. Her obsession with being accepted by the posh Canterlot community makes me feel like she has no personal drive and is being controlled by society. It's unhealthy. Mare Do Well was an awful episode because all Rainbow Dash learned was that her friends can become envious enough to show her up in the name of 'teaching her a lesson', even though they are perfectly capable of being arrogant themselves. She also learned that society doesn't particularly care for you if you aren't useful. I like some pop music now because it seems to be heading the direction of electronic. Halo 2, 3, and 4 were good games. Not great, not phenomenal, but certainly not deserving of the hate they do get. Darkest of Days was fun, though short. VALVe is a great company, though they need to get over their fear of the number 3. I don't think TF2 being F2P has ruined it in any way, nor have the hats. CS:GO was meh. Didn't find it interesting. Tails is the best Sonic character. I like SonTails as long as age gaps are nonexistent or narrow enough to not fall under pedophilia (age of consent). Some MLP shippings are awful and shouldn't be allowed. Celestia or Luna x anything (or themselves) is nothing but extreme pedophilia (and incest if it's themselves), Spike x Rarity as well. Any ships with the CMCs (besides with themselves, then I'll consider it puppy love) too. If CMC ships include sex, they should be removed for being illegal. The Battle Droids (the B1s, not the Supers), the AAT, and the Droid Starfighter were the only good things about the prequels. The Battle Droids are adorable, especially in 3 and in the cartoon versions. Jar Jar Binks wasn't a terrible character. Steve Jobs was an asshole. I like Bill Gates. I've never liked Macs. The iPhone and iPod are the only useful things Apple has made as far as I'm concerned. The original COD 4 was terrible, too. I like Battlefield 3's multiplayer a lot more than COD's. Tanks, Airplanes, Kamikaze, hilarious bugs... I like Linkin Park. Tom Clancy is overrated. The Hunger Games is overrated. I never got into the books, never saw the appeal. The RP section needs a much higher character limit (based off my time on other RP sites.) I don't like superheroes, and I don't understand the appeal. Watchmen is probably the only exception. World of Tanks is a great game, if you can get around all the P2P it throws at you. I find Pewdie Pie and Tobuscus interesting and have nothing against them. I hate bacon. I don't have much interest in Lord of the Rings, I find The Elder Scrolls a dull imitation, and I think WoW is boring as hell. Justin Beiber's music is horrid, but I think he's cute. I'm a Grammar Nazi, and hate it when my posts have even the tiniest error that I can discern. (Note all the edits in my posts. Please do point out any errors, if you don't mind.) I believe in the Indoctrination Theory. And that's all I can think of. Quite the list, but I imagine I can find something else to post later, perhaps tomorrow.

Jumping on the bandwagon here, I too listen to music just about any chance I get. Though it isn't my passion in life, I think it would be accurate to say music is my main source of inspiration, and something of a way to get through life. Though not particularly relevant to the conversation itself, I find this quote useful for expressing my opinions on music.

Halo may be a franchise I cherish, but I don't think it'll be capable of changing my mind on the One. There is something that we are ignoring, however - Microsoft's delayed PC releases. I've heard rumors of a Halo 3 PC version, and given how Combat Evolved and 2 have PC ports, I wouldn't be surprised if 3 goes down that path as well. Though it does require a lot of patience, it's certainly a work-around for having to buy a One to get 5 and 6.

Oh I have a bone to pick with Sony as well - they aren't absolved from blame, as they're making blunders too. It's just that Microsoft is desperately trying to make their blunders more loud and obnoxious, and it's showing. Not to mention, it's making more than its competition, and from this article I'm almost convinced they're taking it in stride. If I didn't know any better I'd wonder if they were doing it for the attention.

I'm just about decided that neither particularly impresses me. At this point, their only selling point for me is what exclusives they have, because I can play most games I see today on the PC, where I don't have to deal with the tomfoolery of The Big Three. As for what I'd choose if I had to, I'd choose the Xbox One. I don't in any way approve of their current practices or ignorance to consumer opinion, but if there's anything I can expect from Microsoft, it's that they're going to make sure they can get any IP they can as an exclusive to 'convince' us to get the Xbox One. Though I do find it frustrating that my choice in console comes down to who's holding the most games I want hostage, we're assuming this situation requires I make a choice. If I didn't have to make a choice, I'd likely abstain from both on moral grounds.

It isn't the developers, not usually. It's the publishers - the suits who are in charge of marketing. They're the ones making the blunders. As for the article itself, I think I've had about enough of 'next-gen'. I'll keep informed until they're released, but at this point I'm not too impressed by the console scene's current behavior. All I hope is it doesn't leech over to the PC market.
