  1. I'm always looking for editing help. I have help from /r/mlpwritingschool right now, and it's been great, but new perspectives are always appreciated! Just do it, unless you're afraid of some fallout. I live in a fairly socially liberal hotspot in the US, and I'm pretty outspoken and confident in my interests, so it wasn't too tough for me. I am also really proud of my Scoots button. By now I have quite an attachment to said character. I've been writing about her for a year, after all.
  2. Oh trust me, I'm not shy. I've gotten used to pushing my fic (I'll refrain here, since there are advertising rules.) Learning to promote things kind of kills shyness. I even wear a Scootaloo button to work (and will as long as I am allowed to.)
  3. I didn't really find anything wrong with Flash Sentry. That was the least of my disappointments, arguably expected of the film.
  4. I have commonalities with most of my favorite characters ( my favorite pony I can't even put as BestPony since it's limited to M6 D: ) With Scoots, however, I feel like bits of her attitude transfer over to me. I, too, can be impatient and brash. I feel like if they explored musical interests we'd probably overlap a bit there, too. XP (I've written a lot on her, I've developed more personality in my head than the show has time to.) As such, I'd say, maybe? It's hard to tell, because I have so much headcanon for my favponi. I apparently am a lot more like Pinkie Pie. I tend to bounce off the walls when I have to engage folks a lot. I like everyone to be as happy as possible.
  5. Of course you aren't! Derpy is one of my favorite background ponies, if only for the connection with the show that fans have developed over the character. As well, I love Applejack. I really respect her personality, and I reflect that in my writing. She's a hard worker, and very passionate about her friends. I really have a lot of respect for her. Her stubbornness is a thing I sympathize with. I've done things on my own when I really should have sought help and regretted the aftermath.
  6. I'll summarize my opinions here the same way I've summarized them elsewhere: MLP: EG is good in the same way as The Super Mario Bros. Movie. What I mean by that is this: I have a fondness for the Super Mario Bros. Movie, even into adulthood. I don't think it has remotely anything to do with Super Mario Brothers, my like for it, but rather, nostalgia (of course) and the fact that within its universe, it's a fun kids' action movie. Therefore, it's good, SEPARATE from its commercial tie-in. EG, likewise: Good writing, one of my favorite songs, but I don't consider it all that much an MLP thing. It seems more to me like what they could have piloted as a legitimate high school themed cartoon. By tying the two together it felt like an exploitation. They could have just as well done this as a pilot episode of "Central Colt High" or something, and not made the characters "human Twilight" etc, and I would have found it legitimate. It's how much I feel manipulated by the film that bothers me. I have no qualms with the content, just the execution. One legitimate connection between the two is the Sailor Moonish feel I got from it. All the movies (long episodes) have had a very good Sailor Moon feel, and if you want to jab me in the nostalgia, it's a pretty effective route to take.
  7. Just as a quick note, I was trying to get to the rules when I was on the TOS page (I understand you have to agree to the TOS before you can continue.) When it continued forward after accepting the TOS, the rules page linked to a "not found" page. Just figured I'd let you guys know! C:
  8. "This thing" being my bronydom. And, as always, I was referenced something, this time, by an IRC friend, and I became more of a fan than they are. Go figure. Happens a lot with me. I first started watching the series the before The Last Rodeo came out, that being the first episode I watched on its first airing. Since then... I have attended one convention, spent over $150 on art from various artists (including several commissions.) And, I've written a 120,000 word fanfiction (currently undergoing a lengthy edit, but completely readable). (Finally found the rules--if this breaks the no advertising rule, I can remove it.) One thing I tend to do is overdo things, but not in a harmful way. So, yeah. Hello to you all, and I hope to see you around. C:
