  1. Some quotes and text from the Pricipia Discordia: Interview between Malaclypse the Younger and the Greater Poop: Greater Poop: Is Eris true? Malaclypse the Younger: Everything is true. GP: Even false things? M theY: Even false things are true. GP: How can that be? M the Y: I don't know man, I didn't do it. IF THE TELEPHONE RINGS TODAY... WATER IT! "It is my firm belief that is a mistake to have firm beliefs." (This one is quite awesome if you think about it) One day Mal-2 (Malaclypse the Younger) asked the messenger spirit Saint Gulik to approach the Goddess (meaning Eris) and request Her presence for some desperate advice. Shortly afterwards the radio came on by itself, and an ethereal female Voice said "YES?" "Oh! Eris! Blessed Mother of Man! Queen of Chaos! Daughter of Discord! Concubine of Confusion! O! Exquisite Lady, I beseech You to lift a heavy burden from my heart!" "WHAT BOTHERS YOU, MAL? YOU DON’T SOUND WELL." "I am filled with fear and tormented with terrible visions of pain. Everywhere people are hurting one another, the planet is rampant with injustices, whole societies plunder groups of their own people, mothers imprison sons, children perish while brothers war. Oh, woe." "WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THAT, IF IT IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO?" "But nobody wants it! Everybody hates it!" "OH. WELL, THEN STOP." At which moment She turned Herself into an aspirin commercial and left the Polyfather stranded alone with his species (The above one is one of my favorites if I can say so myself.) "If you want in on the Discordian Society then declare yourself what you wish, do what you like and tell us about it or if you prefer don't. There are no rules anywhere. The Goddess (meaning Eris) Prevails." (Now if the above statement doesn't have "Discord could have said this" written all over it, I don't know what does.) Then there is the calendar described in the book, which in Discodianism starts on the year 1166 BC. That year is called year 1 YOLD. "YOLD" stands for "Year of Our Lady of Discord". So, as a reference, the year 2013 AD (this year) is 3179 YOLD according to Discordian calendar... This, of course, from the pages that actually have text in a way that forms sentences... there are still plenty of pages that are just filled with bizarre images and collection of nonsensical things. The most strange thing is, the more I read the book, the less sense it makes... but at the same time it makes sense! It makes sense in a way that is nonsense! It's freaking perfect, nonsensical Chaos explained in a way that it makes sense in a way that there is no way to make sense... does that make sense? Seriously, I like Discord as much as the next guy, but the fans that have Discord as their all time favorite character are going to LOVE this book. All its missing is a picture of cotton candy clouds raining chocolate milk...
  2. I started a topic that might interest some of the readers of this topic. http://mlpforums.com/topic/77613-principia-discordia/ Anyone ever heard of a little book called the "Principia Discordia"?
  3. Okay, so I was researching things about Chaos for a story I want to write about Discord... you know, Chaos Theory, Chaos in greek mythology, and all that. As I was finding more and more stuff, I found this... pseudo religious book I believe is the correct way to call it. It is called the Principia Discordia, and talks about "Discordianism" a "religion" if you can call it that, that endorses the belief that Chaos is the only thing real and therefore everything that makes sense or is serious is totally unreal. It "worships" Eris (or Discordia, the ancient goddess of Chaos) It has this weird "rules" like that everything is related to the number 5 in any way or form (using stupid and nonsensical explanations like, the number 1 is related to the number 5 because 1 + 4 = 5) and that a way to show your devotion to chaos is to eat a hot dog on Fridays... anyway the more I read it, the more it looked like it was written by Discord himself... if he were real that is. The pages don't even make sense, some are written, some are just collages of old newspapers clippings, or crudely drawn stick figures, stamps... it makes no sense at all... the pages are even numbered with several number zeroes in front for no apparent reason. The more I read it, the more Discord's words came to my mind "What fun is there in making sense?" Just take a look and see for yourselves. 4. So, I was watching this episode and I noticed something... kind of out there but hear me out. So Photo Finish, she has a blue coat and a white mane, she also likes to talk in the third person. Those colors and personality traits reminds me of The Great and Powerful Trixie. Does anyone think they may be related somehow?
  5. Okay, lets use some episodes to try and gather more info on this. On Episode 4 of Season 1 "Applebuck Season", when Twilight Sparkle asks Applejack why all her relatives that she met when she first came to Ponyville aren't helping her gather all the apples, Applejack replies that they were only there for the Apple Family Reunion. (Watch episode here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQJmUheecSY ). Now, when Twilight Sparkle first came to Ponyville was on the first episode, "Friendship is Magic, part 1" she came to Ponyville to supervise everything before the Summer Sun Celebration (which was to happen the very next day). During that day before the Summer Sun Celebration is when Twilight Sparkle goes to Sweet Apple Acres to check on the catering for the Summer Sun Celebration. There Applejack cordially greets Twilight Sparkle while she and members of her family offer her food samples, we then learn on "Applebuck Season" that the Apple family members were there for the Apple Family Reunion. So that reunion takes place the day before that Summer Sun Celebration. Fast forward now to Episode 6 of Season 4 "Apple Family Reunion" which you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpGjTdwzyxQ Granny Smith says that it has been 100 moons since the last Apple Family Reunion. That means that it has been 100 moons since that Reunion and the last one, on that day before the Summer Sun Celebration. We now have an in show "metric" to use. What we need to do now is try to determine how many days have passed between that reunion and the last one, and we'll know just how many days are exactly 100 moons. After we get that, then we can use it to determine how much are 30 moons. So, anyone know how we can figure out the days between the episodes "Friendship is Magic, Part 1" and "Apple Family Reunion"?
  6. During the movie, we learn that Twilight and Spike both have a counterpart after Pinkie Pie pointed it out that she maybe has a "twin that lives in the city" by City meaning Canterlot since while Fluttershy was passing out flyers for the animal shelter she stated that it was for "Canterlot's Animal Shelter". Now, I do know that many people have pointed out that if so, then Sunset Shimmer must have a human counterpart as well. But which one of the possible theories makes more sense and/or you agree with more? The theories of the real Human Sunset Shimmer that I've seen all over the internet are as follows: - Human Sunset Shimmer is dead by some car accident, or mugger or anything else (some suggest that Pony Sunset killed Human Sunset as well), and Pony Sunset just stole her identity so she could have a home while she stayed in the human world. - Human Sunset Shimmer is the first human Pony Sunset Shimmer met after she crossed the Mirror, putting two and two together, and using the element of surpirse, Pony Sunset Shimmer tossed Human Sunset Shimmer into the portal so as to steal her identity. And now Human Sunset Shimmer is living in Equestria as a Pony, and didn't go back because the portal closed. - Human Sunset Shimmer lives in the city and is in a completely different school, just like Human Twilight Sparkle. HOWEVER, to consider this theory true, one would have to argue why Human Pinkie Pie, that seems to know everyone in Human Canterlot, never pointed out that Sunset Shimmer has a twin sister that lives in the city. - Human Sunset Shimmer ran away from home for one reason or another, and Pony Sunset Shimmer was the one the police found when searching for her, and used said case of "mistaken identity" as a way to live in the human world with a "new" idenity. Human Sunset Shimmer's whereabouts would be unknown in this scenario. - Sunset Shimmer was a Human all along that went into the portal at Canterlot High and fell into Equestria and seeing the possibilities became a student of Princess Celestia. This theory, however, negates several things one of which is: Why didn't Princess Celestia notice that there were two unicorns exactly alike (one being Human Sunset Shimmer, the other being Pony Sunset Shimmer) in Equestria? It would also negate the comic (if the comic can be considered cannon, which is also up for another debate. I mean, did you see how they portrayed Princess Luna in Issue 9? It was completely out of character for her, especially considering how she was portrayed in issues 5, 6, 7 and 8.) So, which theory do you think makes more sense, and why? Do anyone else have a different theory?
  7. Well, let's take a closer look at the three pictures: Here are the three pictures of the times she won before. Second And third And now this is how she looks during the movie. We can clearly see that during the movie she looks older than on the previous pictures. So those pictures must have been taken on previous years. Another good point is that Sunset Shimmer is known and feared all over the school as she makes a clear point about it to Twilight during the movie, and Fluttershy mentions it during lunch. We can assume that Sunset had to have some time to understand her new human body, and how human society worked, and after that use said knowledge to take over a high school and become the most popular/feared student in it. Now, to do something like that you don't do it in a week, or a month. It takes at least a full school year, or even more.
