She is very aware of her strengths, which can lead to boastfulness. Sometimes I think she might have a bit of a mental disorder. This can actually be a common thing especially for athletes to struggle with. I know I do too. It could be that deep down she struggles with self-worth and thinking that she will never measure up, and her way of thinking she is awesome may help her feel better about herself. Trust me, I have met people who struggle with self-worth and sometimes that extreme positivity is how they cope with it.

What is most important however, is that her heart is in the right place, and she stays loyal to her friends no matter what.
