  1. @@RunsWithSquirlz @@PathfinderCS @ Wanderlust's eyes were only partially open, he was half asleep but this was all too important not to listen to. He thought he'd at least picked up part of what was going on, somebody had stolen magic gems, some magic catalyzers, had spent some time with the Crystal heart and had mining equipment. That seemed the gist of it... He fidgeted, obviously these ponies were just going to ignore him and Whisp if they didn't contribute to the discussion. So he mumbled the question that Celestia had put in his head when she voiced that maybe his actions were only leading the vision to come true, "So what if that's the point? What if they want to be found? It doesn't seem like they've been subtle leaving behind their marks. Other ponies use the mountains and explore the mines, other have to have noticed moving all that equipment too; rumors have to be spreading, the Crystal Ponies still get frightened over mysterious presences and things in the mountains.." He used a hoof to fiddle with the edge of the map on his table as he continued to just absently speak his thoughts. "Mines are horrible places, I've dealt with some nasty diamond dogs once... Traps are easy to prepare in tunnels, whole companies of royal guards could be trapped or killed by a single pony at switches with the proper plan. That could be what they want, to create fear, panic, pain and hopelessness. The large collection of magic gems and catalyzers sounds like they're certainly trying to make something. Maybe they just studied the Crystal heart, trying to understand the way it turns love and hope into power. Maybe it's the yang-." his thoughts turned to his horrible vision of struggling to survive in fear of the darkness and the hopeless existence hounded by an inescapable killing coldness, ""-and they want to create the yin. A dark heart that takes power from fear and hopelessness instead... Just a thought... rushing in or creating a panic might play into their hooves.." He closed his eyes again content to just listen to them.
  2. So have you guys ever done anything related to the creepy things in your states? I actually grew up in an area that's supposed to be really haunted. http://mysteriousheartland.com/top-10/top-10-creepiest-roads-in-illinois/ Apparently if you believe the article Cuba Rd. is the most haunted road in the state and I used it all the time to go to my high school. The abandoned house they mention on the nearby Rainbow Rd. was a gangsters at one point, so in middle school my friendship I went exploring the property and stuff, overturning things bullshitting about what we would do if we found a hidden stash. My best friends girlfriend back then lived directly behind the White Cemetery. Things aren't as scary when you grow up around them and don't know they're supposed to be scary... But I did do something that I still find scary, I actually kissed the Black Angel in Iowa City. She's a very intimidating gravestone, and the myths range anywhere from instant death to six months to the date to 7 years from the date, so yeah still not in the clear on that one. It's actually a more well know interesting haunting spot, I'd encourage looking it up and if you're ever in Iowa city for some reason visit it.
  3. Nice, I'm jealous the people I'm hanging out with would never put up with watching that, they can be real pains in the ass about anything they consider childish. Ah but being scared is so much fun! Which Exorcist? I actually really like the Emily Rose one. Well at last time you mentioned a ghost in your house you said it put your kids to bed for you so at least they're friendly hehehe What's the Seattle haunted tour like/involve?
  4. Clarke is just outside the Stable, which would be in the field between the collapsed inn, the barn and the forest. So both. Hanging out with friends, I really want to go to a couple of hunted houses, but we'll see if I can actually get them out and about.
  5. Well he did get flat out stabbed in the chest earlier and during our hiatus I kinda forgot about it... So when I remembered it today, I well had to address it. Also wanted chilling touch to starting the Ashcreek Forest part of this RP. What did you guys think?
  6. I dunno, it's actually up to Squirlz having Whisper notice something was wrong and going to help him after hesitating or setting Finn down or anyone else noticing that he was struggling out of the Stables. It happened pretty fast but you've probably got a couple minutes before he kicks the bucket. You pass out from oxygen loss before any serious vitals start shutting down.
  7. @@RunsWithSquirlz @@Dji @@Alex Kennedy @@Sanctified Absence @@Flying Ace @ @@Shadow Dancer Finn was still out cold when Whisper took him from Clarke, "The little beastie really saved us in there. Knocked his head a bit though, you might want to help him heal up..." Was it just him or did his voice sound a little hoarse and forced? He was too caught up in the moment to care though, "I'm really glad your okay Miss Whisp, I was really worried..." He trailed off remembering his dream and feeling guilty, he pulled Whisper in for a quick awkward hug well she was holding the dragon, it made his chest hurt. He felt a bit woozy and tired, but everyone probably did. "I'm going to go make some java for everyone. I think Adrass and Indicus need some of your help think you can do it before I'm back with coffee?" He gave her shoulder a squeeze before heading for the barn. Clarke had finally reached his cart in the barn when the adrenaline and endorphins wore off enough that he realized something was really wrong. His vision was blurring and the weakness he was feeling wasn't just tiredness. His chest wouldn't stop aching, in fact it now felt like it was on fire, each breath an agonizing struggle. He looked down focusing on his chest, at the little stream of blood moving down it... 'That's right the maid I headbutted, she stabbed me in the chest.' He realized he had a coppery taste in his mouth, and the taste had been in the back of his throat for awhile now, that had been the cause of his hoarseness and funny sound to his voice. The wound hadn't seemed like much; in the moment and out of necessity he'd been able to forget about it even, but that serrated blade must have bit deep enough to hit a lung. Serrated blades were meant to cause as much bleeding as possible and it had apparently done its job. He swayed drunkenly trying to use his cart as support, clumsy numb hands knocked tools loose and cabinets open. Clarke gave a gurgling cough and suddenly his mouth was full of warm blood. 'This isn't right, I got in one little fight. She got just one jab. I barely helped them, I didn't fight the deadly assassin but I'm the one dying?!' His eyes went wide at the realization, he was dying. Coughing up blood like this, the punctured lung was already flooded the other one would be soon. He pushed of the cart stumbling towards the stable doorway, he needed to get back to the others. 'Combination of blood loss and oxygen deprivation, I'm going to suffocate. Drown in my own blood. How long have I already been using just one lung or at least a failing respiratory system?!' He was starting to panic now, but the adrenaline wasn't enough to drive him now, his vision was fading at the edges. He tripped collapsing just exiting the stables doors. 'Whisper could help me! She's healing the others she could help!' He tried to cry out but it came out as a weak gurgle and spitting more blood onto the ground. What had that Maid said? 'At least one of you has the sense to die like he's supposed to.' Guess she was right, he had been the weakest link anyways... And planning to betray them, they would be better off without him... 'No! Coppershine, I have to at least warn Whisper about Coppershine. She deserves that much, I need to save her from...' He was weakly griping and ungriping the nights cool wet grass trying to hold his head up to look for the group, but he saw a small white glowing girl at the forests edge... She was waving at him, she was beautiful, with twisting falling petals of brilliance all around her. 'The forest is haunted, I'm dying so I can see it...' He swore he could hear her giggling, it was light and playful. She gestured to him to come to her, wiggling a finger to follow. 'So I join them? In the forest? Maybe I can help guide them then if I'm there? Protect them? Would I get a chance to warn Whisper? Ask forgiveness?' He couldn't support himself anymore collapsing on to the refreshingly chilling grass, her voice a clear bell that only he could hear, "Come play with me in the woods..." He did.
  8. (Made this post at work on my phone, hope it turned out okay) Wanderlust was frightened, but it wasn't from anything the Princess had said. No Celestia was being perfectly logical and reasonable, especially considering the lunacy he had just told her. The way she looked at him made him feel like she really did understand and even a bit of kinship to what he was experiencing, he'd never expected to feel that from royalty. Her response to him only justified his fear though, because it made what he was sensing all the more horrible. It came from his old pocket covered saddle bag that the guard was handing back to him. It was certain seeds, spores, and pure plant extracts calling out to him, they were all toxins and poisons he had collected in years of travel and they all want to be inside Celestia. Nature magic had never called out to him like this it was almost demanding, pushy and overwhelming. He stammered again to Celestia as he accepted the bag, "I-I, umm, well.". He could tell from the way Whisp was staring wide eyed at the bag that she could feel it too, or at least she felt something. It was so wrong, the Princess herself was offering her trust to him and the magic he had learned to trust screamed she was a threat to be ended. It had to be the corruption of that symbol effecting him or something trying to influence him to create that horrible vision! Maybe Celestia was right in thinking him being here would make the vision true? Or would this really prevent some aweful future? No he wouldn't be anyone's puppet. "I-I. No. I'll do it a another way. I'll join your group Princess, I really hope I can do something to help." Wanderlust didn't even realize he had replied to the influences aloud, he'd meant just to reply to Celestia. As he walk past her towards the ponies discussing further in the library he felt one last throb of pain in his head before it faded in acceptance. He spoke in a hushed concerned tone to Whisper, "You felt that too right? Was that the Stag? Natures darkside? I've never felt it before...". His eyelids drooped as the adrenaline of meeting the princess started to fade. He leaned over and nuzzled his head against Whisper neck, a common telltale sign he was about to ask her a favor, "Uh Whisp, it's probably unfair of me to ask I know the last week has taken a lot out of you too... But I think I might finally be able to sleep some, the pain's all gone. Would it be okay if I just rested my eyes at the table? You can handle introductions right?". He didn't really wait for her response as he slid into a chair closest to where the group was discussing making an "Mmmhnng" sound as the softness of the cushion and promptly letting his head thud against the table top.
  9. He hasn't been online since the 20th, when I came back and finally posted on the 23rd I sent him a PM cause sometimes that goes to an email address too. I'd hoped he'd sign back in before we were leaving the inn, but yeah not sure what else we can do other than everyone sending him a PM. RP logic says we put kinda just ignore his absence and pretend he's still traveling with us but also don't acknowledge him or give him anything to do... It's kinda like Schroeder's Cat, if he comes back he's been with us the entire time but if he doesn't than he stopped being with us at the inn and in the mean time he's both. I feel really bad doing that though because Squirlz and I were absent for extended times and the game paused for us, but it's really hard to put a GM in the groups pocket and continue the story.
  10. So I just realized we should be in good old scary haunted Ashcreek Forest and hopefully be dealing with some spooky stuff for Halloween
  11. Wanderlust looked rather disheveled and was leaning on Whisper a bit when they first entered, he looked like he might nod off at any moment but he pushed away from his deer companion starting to walk on his own and trying to keep his head held high once he realized he was in the presence of the princess, within in sight of the other and still he managed to bow deeply to them when he stopped before Celestia. "Your highness... I don't suppose saying it's what my cutie mark is telling me would be enough..." he put a hoof to his mouth right after saying it, then rubbed his puffy eyes with the dark circles under them. The stallion despite clearly being a young adult didn't even have a cutie mark. "I actually said that out loud. I'm so sorry your highness, I'm rather nervous and I tend to try and joke when I'm tired... Nervous! I joke when I'm nervous but I'm so tired, I..." He gave a growl and a heavy sigh, then took several deep calming breathes. "Please give me a chance to start over... My name is Wanderlust and... gods I'm going to sound like a nutcase but I think I'm supposed to stop you from doing something horrible." He tripped a little on his words again, "By accident, I'm sure of course, the royals would never hurt anypony on purpose... probably." He seemed to be rambling off track again the last part meant to just be a silent thought, Whisper nudged him to try and help him refocus. "R-right! Um, well... WHISPER thinks I've had a vision." He couldn't help but throw his best friend in front of that speeding cart crash of a concept, she was the one that insisted it was true after all. But once he'd finally gotten the idea off his tongue, to the Princess of the Sun no less, he was sure it was the truth no matter how foolish. He gave rather contented sigh, his posture changed, he stopped swaying, his eyes seemed more awake and confident; he could hold the princess's gaze and finally stopped stammering. "She's never steered me wrong before and was training to be the nature priestess for her tribe... It doesn't just feel like some reoccurring nightmare and I got terrible headaches and pains when we traveled any direction except for, well here to you. We've been traveling over a week, I've had it every night, so please listen to us." "In the nightmare something horrible is going to happen and has happened..." He gestures his hoof about trying to drag it to the front of his mind, "It's difficult to remember, there's an unending darkness creating a freezing winter to blanket the earth but also the sky with a sun raining teardrops that kill. Mother Nature and life itself slowly fading from sight calling out to hold on to brilliant seeds of light." Wander shook his head looking dismayed, "I'm sorry, it's all jumbled and mi-" his eyes locked with the sign scorched into the library floor. "That! That symbol it's everywhere in the dream! Carved into the trees, engraved on buildings, across the flaming sun, in the snow, a shadow on the moon!" He locks eyes with Celestia, dark tired eyes intense all the same, "Princess please whatever that sign is for, no matter what your trying to do please stop. If the burning sun and freezing night represent you and your sister it's going to do something terrible to you and then you're going to do something terrible to the world..." Wanderlust swallowed loudly and trembled a little moving closer to Whisper, he realized it sounded like he was either threatening or accusing the two rulers of a nation, two of the most powerful beings on the planet of something terrible. That probably wasn't about to go over with them too well.

That didn't concern him or distract him too much, but the sudden blinding flare of potential energy spreading from the Inns foundation and racing to flow throughout the entire building very much did, it also terrified him to his core. The combination of the sheer magical potential energy and the hunters attempt at interference delayed his recognition of the javelin hurtling towards him, at least enough that he realized he could no longer dodge it. Instead he threw up his free hand trying to ward the projectile off... The wooden shaft didn't just penetrate his palm, it tore and split it; leaving it a mutilated wreck. 17. @@Flying Ace @ @@Shadow Dancer Lance gave a heavy sigh as he reevaluated the situation: the only barmaid left was Bertha the muscle bound one trying to smash the water Mage boy; the tinkerer was about to undo his last cuff; the joyless guard was weakened but skilled enough to be making a killing blow difficult; the newcomer was surprisingly a hunter but energy was bleeding from him almost as fast as the one eyed assassin, he must already have been through a beating; the only good thing that had happened was the charismatic bard had run off. He smirked, the odds weren't good but he could still easily win this fight; first he would jump to assist Bertha, stab the water Mage in the heart while she distracted him; next slit the tinkerer throat while moving back to engage with the actual combat opponents; with Bertha's assistance he would easily manage a mortal blow against one of them by sacrificing her, before ending it with a prolonged but inevitable duel with the survivor; finally he'd have the easy of hunting down the bard and any other remnants of this group... That was the most likely future he saw, but he was no master of the flow dance and could only see so far with a true certainty. There were still many risks... His mistress The Madame had fled, her establishment in shambles and the core of her staff dead... 22. @ The Flow Dancers are magical in a similar way to how Hunters are magical, it's about sensing and reading energy not control or manipulation. Actually most hunters would find the flow dance as just the next step of sensing magic auras, it becomes sensing all energy auras and reading them to such a familiar level they can respond before things happen. What would screw with magic sensing also messes with energy sensing to a lesser degree. Also sorry I've been a bit occupied, trying make a post soon.
  23. Well if you are talking about some sort of rudimentary sight that he is inexperienced with I'd be okay with it but when you say it's like the flow dancer power I've go to say it can't be like that because what that comes from is a slight foresight caused by being able to read energy and potential energy and years of training from the youngest years to read the paths that potential energy will take and doing so fast enough to avoid it before it happens. Shadows wouldn't give the foresight of what would happen next but if you're asking for a vague sense of what's happening in an area around you including your blind spot I can allow that.
