Once is enough. But when you do it more, you're hammering in the joke, and the ReMane Five becomes unlikeable and unsympathetic. You have to be careful with mean-spirited jokes to allies in order to do it correctly. They botched the execution of that joke in Rainbow Rocks.

But that's not here. This status is about IDW's Holiday Special, which takes place after RR.

Honestly, I'm under the impression this should be expected from the comics at this point xP Generally rubbish in terms of characterization and far too quick to resort to mean spirited/cheap humor. I'm not a horribly critical person, but of all the comics I've read the only ones I've enjoyed were the Return of Chrysalis Arc and Rarity's micro.

I guess expectations should be lowered at this point. Hopes high, but expectations low.
