Just because the characters are flawed doesn't make every single action they make okay or in character. If they act out of character, unlikeable, have no justification for their actions, and especially don't get punished, then it's daft to accept "they're flawed" as an excuse.
What if you and I collabed on a fanfic starring the Winkster and Tinkerputt? It would mainly be a slice of life/humor/adventure series focusing on the two becoming pals and going on crazy adventures together, a la Bill and Ted, Wayne's World, etc.
