      Well, I'm writing my review for the second half. Mood for the episode changing for the better. :)

      The way I see it is that Granny and Goldie never intended to laugh at AJ's misfortune because they're awful like that. The problem with that scene is POV. We're told this story by Granny, but we're seeing it from Filly AJ's POV instead. The point they were trying to get was that Granny is easy-going and is happy to have a laugh at little mistakes from the past, but since we're seeing the story from Filly AJ instead (who doesn't find it funny to this day) it becomes all really misguided.

      But yeah, the second half saved a lot of the first half. It still has a lot of its charms throughout the whole episode though!
