I haven’t talked much about Shadow War, the season 1 finale. There’s a big reason why.
This episode is good, but it could’ve been better. Is it as good as Last Crash or even Woo-oo? No. The episode doesn’t have the polish that many episodes from both 1 and 2 in dialogue and humor (plenty of it was way too gross to stomach), but the story was well-paced.
But there’s one awful moment that helps soil the story quite a bit. During Magica’s attack, he took the reign and told everyone how they all must help rescue Scrooge, but no one got it because his voice is so garbled, and the bros got too cute in replying. Donald got into a fit of rage against Dewey and chased him, only to be corralled and have a voice box swallowed down his throat. The fact that he threatened one of his children regardless of circumstances is EXTREMELY OOC of Donald, who’s been portrayed as overprotective but caring. The fact that he was going to hurt Dewey crosses a massive line, and that contrived chase heavily contributed to the plot, so the overall episode quality sinks drastically
The Shadow War is good, but very overrated. The best grade I can give it is a B, and no higher. In fact, I might give it a B-, but I will have to watch it again and think about it more.

I watched both "Shadow War" & "Moonvasion" to compare them &
I enjoyed "Moonvasion" more because it felt more threatening.

He's also Donald Duck, a character who has had a hair-trigger temper for most of his 85 years of existance.
