    This is the episode where Pinkie Pie stopped being funny for me.

     

    I also think "A Friend in Deed" is an awful cringefest

     

    but I *really* like Smile Song so, I give that episode a teensy pass simply based on that.

      Pinkie was great in this episode. My biggest problems were how the tone and stakes instantaneously shifted to serious, the "popping" of the fake Pinkies being unnecessarily graphic, and how one of the fake Pinkie's ability to think and care created the unfortunate implication that Twilight is slaughtering fakes who were capable of free will if given the training.

      Yeah. I don't know why they couldn't have just led the Pinkie clones back to the mirror pool. :ooh:

       

      Don't forget that one of the Pinkie clones escaped.
