  1. Hi Dark Heart. It seems we joined on the same day. I hope we can enjoy our stay here
  2. I certainly hope so too. Thanks
  3. Good day everyone. I'm preparing myself to write a Fanfic, however, I will need some information before I can do much. First of all, what is the estimated age of the characters?, and while we are at that, was it established how calendars work in Equestria? Where can i get information on secondary characters? I mean, characters like Lyra, Bonbon, Derpy, the Doc, etc. What is the most accepted name of the genderbent characters? I think that will do for now. If i need anything else I will post later (Or edit this post if it wasn't replied yet)
  4. Interesting..... I would have expected to have at least a bit of little fluttershy, however I'm not disappointed.
  5. Using magic hurts? Unfortunately, the show doesn't say much about that, but pretty much every unicorn uses magic all the time. The most common use is levitating objects. I doubt that something painful would be used so banally. It does look like it requires effort and concentration though, like exercise. I would undestand that you may feel tired after using magic over a prolonged time and after some extreme conditions it would hurt tough. Imagine carrying a weight with your hands, something around 10 Kg (around 22 lb). The first minute it would be ok, after 15 minutes, your muscles would feel sore. Imagine carrying that weight a whole day. Shining Armor was projecting a city wide shield that was supposedly strong enough to drive away an army of changelings. I wonder how long he was projecting that shield. If I'm right on the "Effort and concentration" thing, then the headaches are mre than understandable.
  6. If i may just bring my two cents here: We live on a world dominated by a patriarchy, and with a very belic history. Lots of cities are named after emperors or conquerors, due to the fact that humanity is a very martial race. We are slowly trying to overcome that. Fear and ignorance is one of our worst enemies, as our primal instinct to something we fear is to attack it. It also doesn't help the fact that we still carry traces of herd behavior in our instincs, as we tend to fear anything that is different to us. Having said all that information that may seem to be disconnected, I will relate to the girlish behaviours. The kids with less education on how to behave in society are the ones who tend to bully the most. I know this is a generalization, and doesnt apply to everyone, but it is kinda a pattern. Being weak is awful when you are a kid, as you are subject to any other kid who doesnt know to behave better. It's easy to grow up undestanding that you have to be strong or at least appear to be strong. Watching cartoons is not precisely the picture of being "Big, grown and strong", and more so when we are talking about a cartoon orientated to little girls. Less educated people tend to shun that, on fear of appearing weak, or being bullied. Other people have interest in more femenine activities, like ballet or sewing, and try to justify their interests. It's not rare to hear someone defending their work saying that it gives them a good income, or saying that "It's ok, everyone does it". It requires a lot of self awareness to be able to say you like something childish and/or femenine just because you like it, otherwise, instincts and herd behaviour kicks in and gives you the idea that it's weird, rare and weak, all together.
  7. Greetings everyone. I am know as Kowaiser, Aspiring video game designer, roleplayer, oldfag 4channer and, if everything goes right in the next weeks, Fanfic writer. I adore Dragons, and i make Dragonkind my symbol. I also have a lot of hobbies to the point i find myself unable to keep up to date with all of them. I read books, watch anime, cartoons, series, play video games, play A LOT of videogames, roleplay, browse internet I used to do martial arts (Taekwondo and Kenjutsu are the ones i liked the most). I also work full time at IBM and study to be a videogame designer. Of course, as you can guess, i also watch My little pony. As a 4channer, the MLP fad struck me as one of the weird things some anon's come up with, and let it pass for some time. Eventually, i got fond of some fan-content and knew that something big was coming on. I pride myself on being a living encyclopedia of internet culture, so i had to check what was going on here. I found out pretty easly that the FIM series is pretty different to what i was expecting and is actually a good cartoon on it's own. I got to know several bronies over the internet, although not by searching them. I never got interested in involving me with the fandom, as i can appreciate the series by myself, and even get lots of inside jokes without making myself public. Today this changes. Two weeks ago i started reading fanfics, something I didn't do since digimon, and i knew i could write something cool. I know i have the creativity and i know i will need feedback to improve. i will also need information. I don't want to write something that blatantly ignores the premises of the original work. Well, i think that's enough of me. Please tell me anything i need to know and if you are interested just ask. I kinda love having atention on me.
