  1. @Blitz Boom i'd love to try and Take RD. and well, i feel like it's only normal for them to interact with eachother, and i can see where those concerns come from. as such it's duly noted :). i'm still much more concerned about Phoenix and Smokey. if anything RD is just a side thing to help keep me entertained in the mean time with not so much effort, i suppose.

    i'll try it, but if it does become an issue as feared, i won't hesitate to try and cool it.

  2. @Widdershins @Blitz Boom then perhaps someone should make that none in the official taken list on page 1 *wink wink nudge nudge*

    anywho, if RD is still up for grabs, i could most deffinately take her on. i may not be perfect but i feel as though i could do good enough. might be fun to get the mane 6 all together :D

    only issue i could see is that i too would need to be briefed on the current situation so that i can have RD act accordingly. color me oblivious to the state of Ponyville.

  3. looks like this thread has been pretty slow. so i thought i'd drop by for a visit. i don't know if this was asked before or not, but does widders have any relation to discord?

    also, do you think discord still has any evil intent? what if the way he is after his "rebirth" is all a facade?

    It would be about ten minutes after the train had started again before Smokey would show up, whistling happily and saying hello to a few passengers he passed hat knew him. He wasn't a Daring Do kind of celebrity, and didn't write books, but he knew some here and there where he'd been, and he liked to stay on friendly terms.

    Frankly he had been tempted to go the Daring do route before, but then there was a focus on him constantly, and he might have to detail every detail about the places he raided- which included every item in there he had seen. It would make getting supplies for the grey and black markets a messy business, and he wasn't like that mare, Scarcity. She knew how to keep everything in check, and who to keep bribed to make sure minor things wasn't investigated too closely. He didn't have that, and frankly, he hated the public light anyway. It sounded exhausting, and would take away the time he'd rather spend doing something else. Such as traveling with Phoenix for instance.

    "Ah, there you are. I'm sorry for the time, but I was told something that made hme have to improvise a little.

    The bad news is that the train can't go to Dodge Junction currently, because of an issue with their tracks, so it's being diverted away from the area. Means we have to wait until we reach Canterlot before we can indulge in the meal I promised you I'm afraid. So it's going to be a few hours if everything goes according to plan.

    The good news however, is that I was able to procure a few things that should take care of the worst hunger at least."

    A small box had been on his back as he had come over to her, which he floated off and placed in front of them. Inside would be a pair of chocolate muffins, a pair of apples, some slices of bread, a jar of strawberry jam, and a butter knife.

    "Don't worry, I didn't steal it. I bought it fair and square from a few passengers here and there that had some extra lying around, which occupied my time. Hopefully it should be enough to take care of the worst, unless you have allergens perhaps? I can go on the hunt to see if there are other things if it is. I have  the bits to handle things. Ah, which does remind me, here is your ticket."

    He reached up behind his hat and pulled out the small bit of paper that the ticket were made of, and put it near her. If hse wanted totgrab it or not meant nothing, as the one to check were the one he bought it from, so he'd know. It However, it still felt as if he should offer her this, just in case. SOme ponies liked to have everything in check after all.

    Phoenix placed her head against the window she sat next to, as she waited for Smokey to return. he sure was taking his sweet time. she looked out into the woods, her eyes simply tracing the landscape to pass the time.

    after a while, she heard the door to the car open, and it was none other than the Stallion in question. she looked up for a moment to confirm that it was him, and she shook her head a bit as she noticed him greeting ponies here and there. "quite the social one, he is" she thought to herself as she placed her head back against the window.

    she could feel the cushions of the seat beneath her shift as Smokey sat down beside her. she looked a little upset as she heard the bad news. it was already getting late into the morning and she hadn't had a single thing to eat since... well, she couldn't really remember in all honesty. however, her eyes lit up with delight as Smokey opened the box in front of them. she was about to ask him where he got all of these, but as if he could read her mind, he explained that for her.

    her horn began to glow with a royal blue hue as the ticket levitated itself out of Smokey's hoof. she placed it in the little clip on the seat to signify to any passing conductor that her ticket was already payed for. meanwhile, her eyes were fixated on one of those chocolate muffins...

    "Thank you..." she said with a soft smile, pausing for a moment only to be polite as she didn't want to look like some hungry animal in front of him. a moment or two later, the muffin levitated out of the box and towards Phoenix's mouth as she began to munch on it. this would definitely help to stave off the hunger and allow her to wait a bit more patiently to arrive in town for them to have a real meal.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    it had been a while after her snack, and due to her night terrors, she could almost never get enough sleep during the hours of night. normally, she'd still be able to function, but with the soft rumbles of the train as it went over the tracks, as well as the soothing images of the countryside as they passed by, Phoenix couldn't help herself. over the course of the last few minutes, she had slowly drifted off to sleep, leaning against the window.
    the train hit a bump in the tracks. luckily for Phoenix, her body wasn't going to let her miss out on the chance for more sleep, and as such she wasn't jostled awake. however, the jolt was enough to disrupt her position, and Smokey would soon find her leaning against him, with her head on his shoulder.
    Why would it be needed in the first place?
    I enjoy putting romance into my RP. And adding those extra details can make it all that much better if done tastefully. Seeing as how it can be a slippery slope, I wanted to ask before it happens, to make sure.
    The large, metallic frame approached with haste, seemingly unstoppable until the conductor noticed the two ponies on the usually abandoned stop. IT had gotten strangely populated the last few days considering the usual norm, but it wasn't his place to ask why that were. Ponyville were in a right state and full of workers, so he assumed that had been the reason for the outliners, yet it didn't really matter. he didn't need a reason, he just had to set the train to stop so the two could go on.
    The speed fell off and the train settled closely to where Phoenix and Smokey stood.
    "Excellent. Think you can go find us a seat Phoenix? I will handle getting us some tickets, and ask about if there's some delays that will keep us from arriving anywhere with any degree of haste."
    It was ladies first, so he'd wait for Phoenix to get on first, whilst a ticket salespony got nearer and glanced at the two ponies with a raised eyebrow.
    "Smokey? What are you doing here?"
    The adventurer grinned and tipped his hat to the stallion.
    "You wouldn't believe me if I told you, Puff Puff. But there's a time and a place for everything. Think I could purchase some tickets for my lovely companion and myself?"
    A small smirk spread on Puff's face, and he nodded whilst pointing towards the front of the train.
    "I left the tickets up front. Follow me please."
    If Phoenix were still there and watching them, instead of having moved on to find a seat at any point after the train had stopped, Puff would also look at her and say *Feel free to find a seat in the meantime ma'am.*
    Phoenix backed up a bit as the Large Locomotive came to a screeching halt. if she didn't know any better, she'd go as far as to say that they were going to skip this stop until they saw Smokey and herself. her ears twitched and she turned her view over to Smokey as asked her to go find some seats. she gave an affirmative nod, and was about to step onto the train when she heard another Pony approaching.
    it was very clear to her from the look that he gave Smokey that they knew each other. and after hearing both of them speak, her suspicions were confirmed. of course, one little detail of their conversation definitely jumped out at her. being called a "lovely companion" certainly elicited a bit of a blush.  she shook her head and wrote it off as she stepped onto the train.
    she had no idea how many ponies would be on there, but there were enough. finding an empty seat for two wasn't impossible, but it certainly provided some challenges. on her instinct, she immediately found the car that had the least amount of ponies in it. upon doing so, she found a seat near the corner of the car, where she could keep to herself. lucky for her, all the ponies seemed to be congregating on the opposite end.
  7. hold on just a moment though. i have ONE more question, and this one i think sorta skims the edges of things a little closer. what about touching and caressing? i mean, obviously not in the nono zones, but for instance, what if the stallion in question were to place a hoof on the flanks of the mare in question?
  8. @Randimaxis
    thanks! that actually helped to clear things up a lot. i kinda already knew that going all the way was a definite nono, but was unclear as to where the edges lie (of course, if i'm in berlin then i know without a doubt i'm in Germany. but i have no clue where the border lies)
    truth be told, i had no idea before asking this if you could go beyond kissing and cuddling. perhaps blush faces the next morning was all i could really imagine when trying to convey how things went the night before.
    although, when i used to roleplay on other mediums, i was no stranger to the lewd details. i can deffinitely still understand how a descriptive mind can fill in the gaps. in fact, i think i got plenty from your demonstration :)
    at the end of it all, i thank you for helping me to understand where the line is, and it will certainly make my RP experience better off for it.
    Is romantic RPing allowed?
    as far as i'm aware, yes. i'm just trying to figure out to which degree you can take your affection before it becomes too much.
    Nah this can be a public thing.
    In general the rule is saucy is ok ... but not anything fetish focused and definitely directly depicting a sexual act or genitalia. Excessive gore is also a no no.
    Staff have always been open to reviewing a specific pic or whatnot before you post it to vet it so you don't have it flagged or hidden and receive a message or warning from them.
    Traditionally, this would be acceptable
    Alright. I typically like to speak in a roleplay sense, because that's what I end up doing on here most of the time. I'm a huge fan of romance, and I'm certainly no stranger to being descriptive when it came to two characters interactions in the bedroom.
    So, it's okay to reference it, but not go into detail? Would it be okay to imply that two characters interacted in an nsfw manner, without directly going into detail about it?
    It would not be far until they stood at the small stand which would welcome the train when it would pass. The nomads Smokey had spoken off once didn't seem to be in the area currently, but that was more of a guarantee than anything. It was rare they were here, but just in case, the stop had been added to the train line, in case something important happened. Like if one of them got hurt and needed to get to the hospital fast, or something akin to that.
    In the distance, a small toot could be heard, which widened the grin on the adventurers face.
    "Ah, perfect timing. Soon we shall be at our well deserved meal Phoenix, and I can assure you that it will be excellent. We just need to hang in a little while longer."
    Phoenix carefully took in everything that was there. in all of her time living in these woods, she had always heard the train passing by. after all, in such a calm quiet place, sound really does travel. however, she had never seen the tracks, or any station with her own eyes. it was a bit surreal, not knowing that this train was here the entire time.
    she began eagerly trotting towards the platform. although she had been staying away this entire time, trying to hide herself, she couldn't help but be curious and wonder. after all, it had been ages since she's seen another pony, let alone civilization. the events of the other night were certainly a lot to process, and only now was she beginning to realize. after all these years, hiding herself away began to sound a bit irrational. not only that, but her stomach gave her more than enough motive.
    she arrived at the platform, ahead of smokey. it seemed as though she had forgotten for a moment or two that she was even with anypony to begin with. she was looking around the place as if she was seeing it for the first time. and truthfully, she was. as she paced up and down the platform, her hooves clicked and clacked against the wooden boards. eventually, she turned towards the tracks, and stopped. she cautiously stuck her neck out and watched as the train approached.
    Smokey let out a minor laugh as he heard her stomach growl on.
    "Perhaps we should make a stop in Dodge Junction on the way and get something to take the worst then. Not much of a spread in that town, but I do remember one place with some nostalgia. Might be a good place."
    Thinking on this and whatever or not that place were still open - it had been some time since he had been there last - they eventually made it out of the forest intact, and without running into dangerous wildlife, and would look over a place somewhat describable as a steppes or discount savannah. Either way, it were spread trees, lot's of grass, and not too far from them, the glimmer in the pair of train tracks going over the place.
    "Excellent. We should be able to get to the *outpost* travelers and the semi-nomads in the area uses normally, where we can get on the train. Hopefully it will not show up too soon so we'd be forced to rush along."
    Phoenix continued to walk along silently. she pondered what sort of things she would eat first. in fact, the thought began to excite her a bit. it had been a long time since she had been near civilization long enough to have some decent food, and she was beginning to look forward to it, rather than dread it.
    "Excellent. If I remember correctly, we should be able to find a stop close by, long as we take a shortcut through the forest. Watch out for Poison Joke please."
    Smokey took the note from his face and crumbled it before tossing it on the ground. Seemed like just regular paper, so the forest should reclaim it within a few days.  He didn't notice the one behind him though, so that one stayed put for the time being as he started to wander through the forest, off the path and keeping in one direction.
    Was it the safest way? Heavens no, not at all, but it were the fastest by far, and whatever beasts the forest threw at them, he were sure that they could beat them, or at least make a heroic escape.
    "If we keep up with this pace and the train shows up shortly, we should be able to hit a town within the hour.  Though it won't be the closest. Dodge Junction is a little too backwater for my taste, and I tend to only return there when I'm visiting family. Better to add the fifteen minutes more to get to a town of some substance."
    Phoenix eagerly followed behind Smokey as her stomach continued to give her reminders about how empty it was. of course, Phoenix really wasn't all that concerned with how safe any given path was. first off, she too was confident in her own abilities to ward off any predatory creatures should they be unfortunate enough to bother her, and Second, she cared more about getting food at the current moment. in fact, it inspired her answer; "i'm fine with whatever we come across first" she says in reply to his statement about better food just a bit farther off.
    as they walked, Phoenix kept glancing at the crude note hanging off the back of Smokey's hat. she contemplated letting him know, or simply taking it off herself. but she had no real intention to follow what the note says.
    as they continued walking, Phoenix made sure to look out for poison joke. her eyes scanned the edges of the pathway ahead, as well as occasionally glancing off to the sides just to make sure none was currently brushing her ankles.
    Smokey got a smirk on his face at her first comment, not being able to help himself as he took a hoof to his chest and made a mocking, gallant stance.
    "If this is a dream, does that make me Prince Charming?"
    He could barely say it before he started to laugh at the ridiculous notion. He were about as much royalty as Phoenix were a goddess. He wasn't even a noble, though that were from choice, as he could have easily bought a title. he just didn't want to be associated too much with those arrogant sky-sniffers.
    "Ah, what a nice laugh to star the day off with. In any case, I am happy to hear that you have taken me up on my offer. Let me just go and fetch my hat and we can be on our way."
    As if waiting for a command, the hat suddenly popped into existence on his head, with a note attached to the front of back with duct tape.
    The one hanging in front of his face would go *Don't disturb* and seemed to be a request to not return to the tent area by what would likely have to be Widdershins for some reason, as he were the only draconequus he had seen there - It was actually me, but meh - which he didn't know what to respond to. Seemed strange, but what involving draconequui wasn't?
    The one on the back that Phoenix could see would be a simple one too. A sign going *Kick me.* with an arrow leading down to Smokey's flank, though did Phoenix have the guts or want to act on it? They'd see soon enough.
    "I get the feeling somepony doesn't want us back at the tent area. Would you prefer to risk it, or shall we aim for the nearest train station so we can get on our way?"
    Phoenix chuckled a bit at Smokey's remark, but she otherwise said nothing. she watched, admittedly a bit amused as Smokey whimsically made his hat appear from nowhere. even morose as she saw the notes left on it. a smirk crossed her face, but she figured she wouldn't actually do anything to him. maybe she'd wait and let someone else do it for her.  after all, she wouldn't want to kick her prince charming.
    she walked up next to Smokey, and looked up at the bright morning sky. however, she was interrupted by a soft rumbling noise coming from her own belly. hopefully it was soft enough for Smokey to not hear it. all of this thought of breakfast definitely was making her stomach a bit anxious. with any luck, the trek to the nearest restaurant wasn't too far. "let's head to the train station" she responded to Smokey's question "and from there, we'll go to whichever town is closest" she followed it up with. she definitely wanted to get some food in her as soon as possible, and she's willing to settle for the first thing they see.
    "I was thinking we simply turn around and wander into Ponyville from here, and we can find a place to feast there. Though if you prefer a higher ranking place, we could take the train to Manehattan and go for one of their bistro's. I know a few ones with food that will make you doubt if you're awake or in a dream."
    Smokey wasn't sure why Phoenix had aimed at the tree line rather than the nearby town, but he were sure she had a purpose by doing so, so he had stayed quiet and waited to see what would happen. perhaps she just needed to have a walk away from everypony before  going into town? Some ponies preferred to start their day that way after all, so it were possible.
    They weren't too far away from the camp however, so there were an other option as well, once a certain sound effect came into the picture. Namely, a loud screech that reached even them, though faintly, and made Smokey's face stiffen a little before shaking it off and chuckling a little.
    "My apologies. I just thought that I heard one of your flaming namesakes, but it could also be a hawk, now that I have the chance to think on it, and that seems somewhat more likely really. Phoenixes are pretty rare compared to hawks, and with farming communities attracting rats and mice, this is likely just a hunting ground for a particular loud Hawk. Hard to tell though, since their shrieks are so closely related."
    Phoenix didn't quite know how to respond to such an offer. after all, it wasn't even 24 hours ago that she had met this Stallion. "Perhaps i still am dreaming" she remarked to his description of the Manhattan Bistros. this wasn't a compliment to the offer. rather, it showed her discomfort towards the situation. she weighed her options.
    If Phoenix had learned anything over the years, it's how to gauge a threat. not only by how dangerous they have the potential to be, but also by their intent. Clearly, Smokey had no Intent to harm her. However, there's no Telling who or what could be waiting for her in town. that's the reason she's stayed away from them for so long. so much so, that it's become apparent she doesn't even remember where the nearest town is. it's a wonder she hadn't run into it by now.
    Phoenix placed a hoof on her head, and cringed at herself a little bit. she doesn't quite know why, but it seems like any time she's faced with a Decision, or something unfamiliar, her first response is to go into survival mode. Normally, this wouldn't be much of an issue as she typically fends for herself, but something felt a little different this time around. she felt like she aught to be less feral around Smokey, but she still couldn't figure out why.
    "Sure", she replied after her few moments of silence. just afterward, her ears perked up and she looked off into the treeline as she too heard the call of the bird.
