You sir are a gentleman and a scholar for supporting the site that quickly!

I'm new to the fandom in a sense too. Very welcoming place ... and in general more tolerant and accepting of differences of opinion.
Good luck with the writing!

Sweet! You're from one of my favorite countries and you're a Rarity fan.
Welcome to the forums

Alright! Full time here and it's 105-70 the final for Discord's favour! I just got back from a very stressful orchestral rehearsal where I had to play the piece in front of everyone... when I HAD NEVER SEEN THE PIECE BEFORE. UGH! I practice it for an hour after that, but I just couldn't do it with perfection...
Well, back to the World Cup! Rainbow Dash vs Big Mac to round off the Round of 16!
Ugh sight reading. Sucks man.
Not even a moments hesitation on this one. RD gets the vote.

As mentioned I might do earlier, I switched my vote to Spike. Honestly it's a throwaway, but truthfully the Spike fans in this thread and my own "hey Spikes kinda cool" post convinced me that win or lose I actually like Spike just a bit more. Rarity was a bit of a tie breaker here too. Spike gave Rarity a real gem after all.
However, I have a feeling Tom will be making an appearance in a few days.

The CMC started with them pining for their cutie marks, which was fine since it added a little world building along the way. It slowly evolved from that being the focus of the characters. Now their tale is more a coming of age template. Each has been tested with issues that a child growing up would face independent of their search for their talent.
Sibling relationships, the yearning for a personal connection to a role model, the need to start being more independent, the frustration of your personal limitations, etc
All of this set amoungst three children becoming the closest of friends.
It's a G rated and Ponified Stand By Me / The Body.

My vote is still (barely) with the Discorded one ... however Spike as a character deserves more love. When I was a kid, we got all manner of sidekicks. Most stunk. Here is visual history or the craptastic. You have my condolences if you bore witness to these characters.
You still here? I applaud your ability to stomach these. I still have nightmares of Snarf trying to drag me to cartoon purgatory. *shudders
Spike destroys the myth that a sidekick can't be a well thought out character that adds depth to the overall tapestry (there's that word again) of the show. And then ... there is the most adorable (and innocent) crush on TV right now.
Oh crap. Sigh. Where's the delete vote button?

1. I cant count

In general, it is a good idea ...
1. Moderators would need to be able to see post identity (already mentioned by Ghostie but it's important to reiterate)
2. It should not interfere with the current forum permissions (member and post requirements)
3. Edit original post to make name visible if you wanted
4. What about replies to topics? Would those users have anon options?
Good idea, or one that should at least merit discussion in the Old Folks Home of this board.

I just digged through the fanclub until i found it...
And yes... Nobody loves me...
I just gave it a brohoof. Kind of made me feel like a time traveler.

I just realized that there is a uncomfortable lack of Back to the Future crossovers with Rarity.

Their absence was likely due to setting up a new town. They appear in the 2nd reunion episode.

For me the CMC were the highlight of the earlier Chrysalis moments, and the comics Chrysalis was definitely dark.
Yep, she is evil, and hardly sympathetic in the comic. I did like (for the most part) how they portrayed her. I think that the team was still trying to figure out a balance between what naturally works in this medium and what works on the show ... basically growing pains. The next adventure arcs for all their issues, showed marked improvement in pacing and pop culture restraint.

I wonder who Rupert's BP is?
I almost don't know where to begin. If not for Star Wars and LOTR, Rowling's epic would easily be my favorite fantasy property.
1. Snape - Severus Snape was a character that I loathed immensely by the close of Book 3. With each passing installment of the series, Rowling deftly added subtlety to his character, that makes for a great character study. By the time Half Blood Prince was done and rolling around the old brain pan, I prayed that there were some shenanigans going on. His final scene was perfect, and his 'redemption' arc is actually more believable than even Anakin Skywalkers. I noticed that Rowling's writing tightened a bit when during scenes where Snape had a major role. That tells me that she wanted very much to keep her cards close regarding him.
2. Ravenclaw.
3. My opinions on the series? I consider Rowling the most influential author of the last 15 years. If John Green continues to grow as a writer, but still maintains that Salinger feel to his narrative ... he may overtake her.

Kazumi Evan's singing in 'Find the Music' ... that long note ... good stuff right there.
Funny how an episode like "Filly Vanilli" that riled up so many Pinkie Pie fans turned out some decent moments for Rarity.
I had a number of little things pile up and an angry customer was the straw that broke the camel's back; I worked in customer service for nearly 20 years, and not until today have a snapped at a customer (even though many deserved it more than this guy did)... I am ashamed of of myself and can't believe my unprofessional actions... And I told my manager just that after the customer complained... I got off with just a warning since I've been at this job with exemplary service for 3 years... But I know I burned all of the brownie points I've earned today... Or, as my wife puts it "One 'oh shit' erases a whole lot of 'atta girls'"
Oh wow, a little deja vu right there. I consider myself a fairly calm person, but I did lose it once. While I escaped any form of disciplinary action, I felt like the worst human being for a while. If it makes you feel better ... you will be surprised at how quickly the gold stars start piling back up.
Here's a Derpy and Rarity image to make you feel better.

This topic ... I like it.
I also wonder now if there is a movement to turn us parents into Bronies. CONSPIRACY!
@, it sounds like your mother is not just taking an interest in the show to form a connection, but also a casual enjoyment in the series. That's a bonus. If not for my two teens I wouldn't have given FiM a second chance. They succeeded where an early adopter to the show failed.
Kids today. And get off my lawn. [/old man voice]

***shameless posting of own drawing is shameless***
...
Although admittedly not nearly as interesting/good as the previously posted images, I am quite proud of this one! :3
(Her mane takes almost as long to draw as I imagine it does to style!)
O-0
The line work is really good for using a mouse, I though pad when I first saw it. How the artists like you can do that on a mouse I'll never understand. Good job. More importantly is that you captured Rarity's demure look (the eyes the the angle of the head really work well).
Also, jealousy.
And yes. Please continue to share the Rares!

I voted for Discord, but I still need to dwell on it for two reasons.
1. I appreciate Spikes role in the series
2. I believe the winner of this match plays Rarity next. Rarity vs. Spike is almost a crime.

Well, I'd certainly prefer them doing an entirely new show, rather than draggin this one on and on forever until it becomes stale/jumps the shark. But imo, the style of FIM is so good, I just couldn't really picture rebooting and changing the franchise again. If they do a G5, I'd prefer it to be the same style, the same universe, just a new setting and a new time period with new characters. Like, maybe a series taking place in the time of Starswirl the Bearded. But in any case, FIM has lots of life left in it. I mean, it's only had 4 seasons. No good show has ever jumped the shark that early. Look at the Simpsons. Season 8 was the prime of its life. It didn't start going downhill until the teens. I forget exactly when I stopped watching. It was gradual. Probably around season 15 or so is when I quit watching altogether. Now it's like, what, season 25? So, my point is, 4 is not that many.
I will also be quoting this, as I am being lazy today and your post illustrates my view as well so you saved me a few minutes time.
For that you have my gratitude, a brohoof, and two more notifications (depending on your settings). Enjoy

Ok, the biggest issue I have with this is that Celestia isn't officiating
WTF Celestia!

Agree 100% with that analysis. Shortly after this thing first was revealed at TGS I was excited, but as specs came out I became aware that Sony was making a mistake by raising the floor on dev costs. Then you have the marketing issues, the memory card snafu, and Sony being Sony.
It's still a pleasant surprise that they nailed the PS4 launch considering their history with console and handheld launch misses.

Slept on it and finally ordered the Nightmare Moon figure from WeLoveFine.

What is your sexuality ?
in General Discussion
· Edited by Jeric
The fact that this topic has over 2000 posts and has yet to be locked gives me hope for humanity, and shockingly the internet. Thank you all for the warm and fuzzies.
And straight. Albeit in high school I would have probably identified myself as asexual.
