      Because Norton sends a report if you disable it while it's running, and I just did a quick taskkill \ del "C:\Program Files(x86)\Symantec\*" which would send the report. However, booting into Fedora Linux and wiping it clean will remove it while it's not running at all, so I would be victorious ^__^

      You could have used the Norton Removal Tool which does a force uninstall. Would have saved you a lot of time. There's one for pretty much every anti-virus software.
