  1. Yeah they're around the price of a car... But it is going to be my career so it's an investment and Boho is my harp for life. It is rather frustrating though as unlike with guitars, where you can quite affordably build up a collection of high end instruments, with the harp you really have to save. It's annoying because I'd really love an electroacoustic as gigging and recording atm is a bloody nightmare. Micing up a harp and getting it to sound good isn't easy :/
  2. I found this one, http://www.animeflavor.com/index.php?q=node/30254 it's 480
  3. I'm the UK and the stuff that's come up on ovguide and animeflavor is quite grainy and most of the other sites don't have anything up yet. Would like to see it before going out for St. Paddy's day celebrations!
  4. Hey, does anyone have any good quality links of the episode? I'm the UK and everything I've found is really grainy..
  5. maybelline does a great one. A few other drug store branks have released them recently but personally I think the Maybelline one is the best.
  6. You should try a gel eyeliner, it stays on waaaaaaaay better than pencil, especially on the waterline, and is much easier to use than liquid. I guess the one good thing about being an insomniac is that I often have at least an hour to do my makeup in the mornings. I've also got doing makeup, including really technical liner, on the tube/bus down to a tee. Personally, I find guys who have the guts to wear make up despite social stigma far more attractive than guys who don't. Also, eyeliner & mascara look amazing on everyone.
  7. Your friend started limecrime!!!! That is bloody amazing, it's not readily accessible here in the UK but it is really fantastic make up at a great price point. Lipsticks have brilliant pigmentation. And guy liner is extremely sexy. I have attacked all my previous boyfriends with eyeliner and often full on eyeshadow and david bowie stripes as well. I always convince them with the 'Kurt Cobain wore eyeliner and everyone loves Kurt Cobain.'
  8. I do work as a freelance make up artist part time but I'm first and foremost a musician.
  9. This goes out to guys and girls as I personally find make up on guys extremely attractive. There is not one person who can't benefit from eyeliner and if you think you don't suit make up you are doing it wrong. Fact. So how much make up do you wear on a daily basis? I do a bit of part time work as a make up artist so I go pretty (very) full out every day, it's really a continuation of me. It's not that I'm insecure without makeup; I'm perfectly happy with my appearance but fashion means a lot more than that to me. So I wear foundation, concealer, powder, contour, highlight, blush and full on lips and eyes. Unless I'm covering my brows to make them a crazy shape I don't do brows because mine are thick, nicely shaped and black fortunately. I don't wear lashes very often either for the same reason. I really like to go crazy with make up, like all over liner, coloured mascara, bright orange or blue or purple or multi tonal lips. I love glitter as well and leopard print eyes. I wear this kind of thing to college... I'll definitely try and come up with some MLP inspired looks soon, if anyone wants tutorials on a particular pony or something please do send me requests

Standard for and against wearing fur debate. The debate didn't even get started before it was deleted, what is the point in having a debate section if they aren't going to allow arguing? I'm just looking for stimulating conversation and that happens more often with people with contrasting views. I switch sides sometimes just for the fun of it... DEBATING IS FUN PEOPLE! Live a little, really..

Oh yeah, probably because there was another debate article that was about furries.

It wasn't about furies though, it was about wearing like fur coats etc. Different thing completely..

  11. Do tell!! If you don't mind. It sounds entertaining haha.
  12. It's quite common among musicians for us to name our instruments. They're more than just objects to us, they become like extensions of ourselves and each instrument is so, so very different. They all have their own distinct feel and there's something that is very personal about yours. I refer to my instruments all as 'she' or 'he' rather than it, they're my babies Especially Boho, my love for her is unconditional. Haha, I know sooooooo many people with clarinets named 'clarry'. I guess all instruments have names like that, I never particularly liked the sound of harpy though... Sylvia is a good name for a sax though
  13. I've developed a huge obsession with 90's rave music recently. Like Ragga Twins, Secret Squirrel, Criminal Minds, Liquid, D-Force, M.A.N.I.C and so on. I prefer it by far to a lot of the modern house, dub, deb etc. Any more fans or people who were actually part of the 90's rave scene on here? (I'm a little young) Please send me recommendations!! Here are a couple of my favourites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im9DmaZ2EC0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF0PmfZOHsk
  14. I'm sorry to hear that, it's so difficult watching people you love struggle, especially when you're struggling yourself and your capacity to help is limited and vice versa. You may have cyclothymia? I'm no professional but I'm just putting that out there as a possibility...
  15. I name all my instruments Do your instruments have names and what are they? Mine are: Boho - harp Elmer - double bass Emily - electric guitar Baby - bass guitar Buttons - microkorg Qwerty - Keyboard Pokit - soprano uke Bezaleel - concert uke I've also stolen my father's acoustic guitar but it is technically his so I haven't named it..
  16. Anyone else LOVE SUBSWARA?! BEST DUBSTEP ACT BY FAR!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im66F5Lz2Dw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rr9R-wt3DrY but overall 90s rave music is better than dubstep.. And this drop is just class, bloody amazing.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPBNBAcfLZk
  17. Will be studying harp undergrad at conservatoire next year, have been playing for about 8 years. I also sing rock, play classical and a bit of jazz double bass and mess around on guitar, bass guitar, ukelele & synths.
  18. I'm a harpist, singer/songwriter & double bassist and play a bit of guitar, bass guitar, ukulele & synths as well. I could go into great depth about the ins and outs and history of music career but I won't bore you with what's in the past. If you're curious it's all out there on the world wide web and not too hard to find, apart from one Facebook page sadly, which was deleted by my old guitarist. We had a bit of a falling out to put it lightly. I'm currently working on a solo project under the stage name 'Shadow She Cries'. At the moment I only have acoustic recordings up but I'm working on the production and there will be some pretty sick drum machine, bass and synth parts going over it. I'm really excited. Love to hear what you all think, the links in my signature go to my soundcloud and tumblr. The tumblr has my videos on it as well as some longer reads on various music related things. Opinions, thoughts & criticisms are greatly appreciated! Also my orchestra is playing the Royal Albert Hall on Monday!! That has nothing to do with anything but we're playing Swan Lake I'm so excited because I haven't performed in what feels like forever and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ok I'm done.
  19. green isn't your colour, suited for success, stare master and luna eclipsed. I especially love the Rarity/Fluttershy dynamic in green isn't your colour - my two favourite characters!
  20. You're very welcome and you shouldn't judge whether or not you have an illness by comparing yourself to those that do. It can manifest itself very differently in different people and there are many different types of depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, bulimia, addiction etc. I've met many psychotics who upon talking to them seem complete different from me in how their symptoms did or didn't display themselves.
  21. Only having the depressive part of manic depression surely is having major depression? Depression can appear to onlookers as going up and down, it's quite easy to go in and out of learning how to hide it depending on what you've convinced yourself your state of being is and then someone will point something out to you that will make you realise what you've convinced yourself is complete bullshit and you're not well at all. It's so painful watching someone go through depression, my friend thought she had recovered and I suggested something to her about sitting her exams early so she doesn't have to take another year out of school and she started throwing insults at me left, right and centre and saying how much she hated herself and her life. I don't hate her either but I'm not stable enough yet to deal with that. It breaks my heart that I'm just not strong enough to support her so I've had to stop being friends with her for now. Hopefully, it will change in the future though. Your friend seems like he goes through a similar kind of thing.
  22. It's a type of therapy that focusses on turning your negative thoughts into positive ones or stop them cycling in your head and getting rid of black and white thinking by breaking down your thought process and getting rid of ultimatums. It's generally considered to be the most helpful type of therapy for a whole array of mental disorders. And thanks, I'm doing a lot better now and am determined to never go back to that state of mind.
  23. If you're resorting to cutting as an outlet for emotions and feeling suicidal then there is definitely something wrong... All thoughts of suicide and self harm should be taken seriously and given the proper medical care..
  24. Depression most definitely is a serious mental disorder and is often overlooked but it is just as serious as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or ocd. I was sectioned after one of my 14 suicide attempts last year.. Don't let it get to that point, it will destroy your life! Have you spoken to a psychiatrist about going on anti-depressants or cognitive behavioural therapy?
  25. That's perfectly normal to feel that way if you are depressed and I understand not wanting people to know but letting it build up before getting treatment could make things impossible/unbearable for you in the future. I was so terrified and resistant to doctors and therapists and though my experience probably wasn't the best, in the end ignoring all the symptoms of depression is like ignoring a lump that could be cancer; you need to look for help and you don't have to tell everyone you know if you don't want to.
