  1. Hello and welcome! I so hope that you enjoy this forum
  2. That is some great poetry! Beautiful I think that is very well said. Fluttershy would be proud. Flutterbat was simply more animal that Fluttershy and thus more amoral. Still cute and adorable in her own way too!
  3. Hello and welcome! Look around, enjoy your stay, there is some great art shared here. It's Flutters so of course it's great
  4. Those feelings sound very familiar. Sadist the Wanderer is right; you need to take care of yourself. It is good to care about others but it does not work well if you are not caring for yourself. It seems most people are very selfish and uncaring. That cuts like a knife for those of us who are more sensitive and caring. Sometimes emotional walls and social masks are necessary. When dealing with the majority of people be wise as a snake and gentle as a dove. Try not to let the world destroy who you are inside. It sounds like your mother recognizes the wonderful you. I doubt she will be the only person in your life who will. Also, as Sadist truly said, there are those of us here who would never shun you. Be careful where you let yourself be vulnerable, but try not to let the world kill the light inside. It is beautiful and there are still those who do and will appreciate it.
  5. Hmmm, death by Fluttershy induced cuteness overload...that is a risk I am more than willing to take.
  6. Thank you for sharing that personal growth. Many of us who love Fluttershy (myself included) see ourselves in her. It is a great thing to be able to recognize and embrace the different parts of ourselves. Your post reminds me that Fluttershy does this. She seems to recognize and accept the different parts of herself; both strengths and weaknesses. (Return of Harmony is a good example) She has limitations but she works to grow as much as she can while still being herself.
  7. Wow. This is just 84 pages of yay! I don't know that I can add much to what every pony has already said, but here goes anyway. What I probably love the most about Fluttershy: Fluttershy is not a cliché. She has a personality full of such depth and beauty. Fluttershy avoids fame and pride (Green Isn’t Your Color; Filli Vanilli). The spotlight (literally) is anathema to her. Even when she is doing something she absolutely loves, like singing; Fluttershy takes care of herself through her shyness. She is such a sensitive pony that she is easily hurt (Hurricane Fluttershy; Griffon the Brush Off). Even a judgmental eye can feel painful to this gentle pony. To avoid hurt she hides from ponies. However, without this sensitivity she could not be as kind and as caring as she is. It is her sensitive heart full of empathy that gives her kindness authentic strength. She may be fearful but can put this fear aside to help others if need be (Friendship is Magic; Dragonshy; Keep Calm and Flutter On). Because of this she can be suddenly brave in defense of her friends. Even then she avoids hurting other creatures if she can. However, she can also be too kind and neglect herself (Putting Your Hoof Down; Trade Ya) or overly kind and enable others in a way that is not good (It’s Not Easy Being Breezies). But that is one of the things that is wonderful about her. Because she is genuinely kind and caring she inspires these qualities in other ponies. In the above examples, Rainbowdash remembered to be loyal and to care for Fluttershy, and Seabreeze learned by her example to be kinder to others. Even Iron Will learned something about kinder assertiveness, instead of his usual aggression, with the lesson of “No means no”. Her ability to care and empathize is so strong that she will give other ponies a chance when her friends would not. It is because of her that the Manticore was “defeated” (Friendship is Magic) and that Discord is reformed (Keep Calm and Flutter On). It was also in Keep Calm and Flutter On that her shrewd intuitive intelligence was made most apparent. While other ponies’ may mistake her kindness for naïveté she clearly showed and stated that this is not the case. In conclusion, Fluttershy is truly a wonderful pony! She is such soft kindness with a heart of incredible compassionate strength! Yay
  8. Thank you. No questions just yet but I probably will have some.
  9. When I went it was about 80% Bronies. But then there wasn't that many people there. Maybe about 2 dozen. I only saw about 4 little girls with families/parents. I think the small showing was due to a lack of advertising. If I hadn't gotten the show time off of Equestria Daily I would have never known it was playing. It was not on the marquee. There were no signs or posters for it. It was just a one-night one-hour showing.
  10. I also like her better reformed. Especialy since in Rainbow Rocks it showed
  11. Just saw it Wednesday night. The theatre was primarily a couple groups of bronies and about 3 or 4 little girls with their parents. Not a big showing but it was not well advertised at this theatre. If you hadn't found the showing online you wouldn't even know it was playing. Anyway, I loved the movie! The story was great, the songs were great, references to the show were great, and I have no complaints about it! I liked that Trixie had a much larger role to play. Her character was perfect! I enjoyed Sunset Shimmer's redemption story line. It was handled well. I also prefer her as a protagonist. I loved Maud's appearance and her interesting behavior. Maud is awesome I also thought that Derpy's group sounded cool. I would have enjoyed hearing more from them, but that wasn't the focus of the movie. The message of this movie was well delivered. Friendship requires maintenance. A person can't keep friends if they do not listen to them and care about them. Once again the spot on message that friendships are not always easy but are worth fighting for. Finally the end credit scene made me ! I am so much looking forward to a third movie. Yay
  12. Thank you both for the welcome
  13. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Fluttershy How did you find MLP Forums?: I think I was using the Bing search engine How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I think it was in 2010. I ran across "My Little Brony" on the Cheezburger site. I had never heard of bronies or the new MLP cartoon. I spent about a year reading the memes posted there. I wanted to understand what was so attractive about this girls cartoon which would attract men and male teens. It was probably about a year and a half into observing the fandom from the sidelines when someone posted a link to one of the episodes. I decided to watch it. The episode was "May the Best Pet Win".After seeing an entire episode and not just clips and memes I kind of wanted to see more. The nest one was posted and I watched it. Then I went hunting for all the episodes so I could watch from the beginning and give this show, which had caught more than just my curiosity, a fare shake.By the time I finished catching up with season two I was very much a fan. I decided to join this forum because I am looking for friends with similar interests. My favorite pony is Fluttershy because I can relate so well to her. Personality wise I definitely have the most in common with her. Twilight Sparkle comes in a close second. I have been to two conventions. Both were the Mid-West Brony Fest. I attended the 2013 and 2014 conventions. They were fun and I look forward to the 2015 one. "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" is the only currently running TV show that I am a fan of. I also love the "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" comic series! I am also a fan of the Usagi Yojimbo fantasy series. I love the "Lord of the Rings" movies and the Christopher Nolan "Batman" trilogy. My favorite author is C. S. Lewis. That's a little to get started with. So, um, yeah, hi.
