What is love?
Since I was running low on Sentai and Rider, let's turn back time. It's 1982, and it's the birth of a new kind of tokusatsu franchise known as the Metal Heroes. And here is the first one to kick it off; the granddaddy of them all, Space Sheriff Gavan! Defending the universe against an evil space mafia, Gavan faces some crazy, reality-warping threats and supernatural dangers. His shining, all-silver suit is very striking. In more recent years, Gavan had a Type II successor; and we may be seeing the passing of the torch here in the future. Decades may have passed, but we have not forgotten Gavan.BONUS SONGS!
SpoilerThe first is the Type G mix from 2012. Gavan passed the torch to someone younger and revived the franchise for a new generation. It's still sung by the legendary Akira, but now it has a more hgih-tech industrial sound.
And here the 21st Century Version. It pays closer homage to the original, while still throwing in some new twists here and there.
