Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV) isn't even that good of a Star Wars film. In fact, it might be one of the worst ones in that franchise. The poor writing, wooden acting, the Jawas having nothing to do with the film, the horrid pacing and the filler scenes ruined what could ruined one of the greatest films of all time. Luke was very unlikable until halfway through the film, when he got needed character development. Han Solo was also unlikable for most of the film.
Interestingly, my problems I had with the prequel trilogy, which are many, are also seen in this film. These flaws prove that George Lucas couldn't write his way out of a paper bag.
