@Everyone; Okay, I've saved all of your reference pics. I have... @nx9100 @Soldier Surplus ... in no particular order. Now here's how I work. I draw when I have time, usually at night. I don't do them in order. I pick who I feel like drawing next when I create a blank canvas. And if you don't pop in occasionally I will assume you don't want art anymore and skip you. If you're the last person on the list and you haven't been in I will simply remove you from the list. I'm gonna work on next.

I mean, don't we get made fun of IRL enough for liking "a little girl's show"? Why should we ridicule eachother in the community?

@@KokuraiNoSenshi, I'm not sure if bat pony OCs are called "Nightmare" or not. I'm still new to this scene and I didn't realize there was so much to learn. @@Soldier Surplus, Is there something in the community against bat ponies like there is against alicorns? @@nx9100, I'm not doing any fancy poses just yet... I'm mostly just practicing vector lines and pony anatomy right now. If you want to stick around, I will eventually get creative. I just need to build my confidence in anatomy first. Or I could draw him in a standard pose like the one you've already got. Up to you. @, Oh, my god. Your cutie mark is adorable. It's food that is smiling at me! It's beckoning me to eat it. @@KokuraiNoSenshi I have seen a lot of people making "Nightmare" ponies so I googled it to see what that meant and saw lots of pictures of Nightmare Luna with her long starry hair and bat wings. That's what I meant by "Nightmare" style. I was gonna draw it as his shadow, but he's flying so I just let it go. @@Tao You're welcome. I'm gonna have to re-watch that episode. @@keidachan You might want to either fix the reference image or upload a better quality version because I didn't see the spot at all. I'm kind of busy right now but I will fix it later for you.

What is this nightmare night I keep hearing about? Is it a fancy pony term for halloween? Also, @@Tao Its just a sloppy sketch, but was fun. I'm going to bed now.

@@keidachan I was wondering about the whole right eye thing... The image you gave me was too small to see the details on the eye. Could you be more specific? @@Tao, I've already accepted Kokurai's alicorn next. However, I love traditional style unicorns and I also love-love-love The Last Unicorn movie. Have you seen it? Do you like that art style? I was thinking I might try drawing him in that art style instead of MLP style. Would you like that? @@KokuraiNoSenshi, As I said in the private message - "I ACCEPT YOUR ALICORN". I love alicorns. I will draw ALL of the alicorns. Okay, maybe not all of them, but I'll draw the ones I like. I'd make a list of things I do and do not like, but I don't really know. It comes with the tide. I like what you do, so have at it. The only thing I'd like to stay the same is that the cutiemark has two horseshoes. As for position, size, etc... have at it.

I'm not totally satisfied with the cutiemark on my pony: I was wondering if you could give it a go? I'd like to see another artist's interpretation of it.

Thanks for all of your replies! I like the Belle-type names, since that's exactly the look I was going for. Sort of a country style Southern Belle type, with a hint of Applejack-ness. I'm glad that came across. Someone I know suggested a name with "Lucky" in it. She said that "U" horse shoes are a symbol of good luck whereas when flipped over "n" horseshoes (like her cutie mark) are a symbol of bad luck. I think the name Lucky with a history of bad luck following her would be ironic. But Lucky what? Hmm.... I actually modeled her headscarf off of a picnic tablecloth Really? That's my first attempt. That's actually a really awesome compliment to get for a first try. So... this is the first time I've ever actually wanted to make a Pony OC with a story fleshed out and eventually roleplay. I've been working on her design the last couple of nights. This is what I came up with: (The first one was hand drawn. The second one has anatomy fixes and I was experimenting with vector lines, which I have to admit was easier to get a consistent line thickness. Critiques welcome.) So here are my problems. 1. ) She doesn't have a name. I need a name! Suggestions? 2. ) I have no idea how to write a background story for a pony. Any tips?

Buddhist/Christian I'm very passionate about my religion(s?). I'm not very open about it, but I will try. It has been a lifelong spiritual path that I never expect to end. The first time I ever found myself curious about religion I was already a teenager. I met a Buddhist and it just felt right, you know? I became Buddhist. The beginning is quite simple. I found what felt right and I started practicing. I have always had a curiosity about the Christian bible, and with religious roots in the church I can't say I've ever denied the Lord. I converted to Christianity (specifically Baptist) a few years ago when I fell in love with a Baptist Christian man who was very devoted to his religion. It became apparent really early in our relationship that our religious differences made him uncomfortable. I decided to start going to church with him, and I never felt so much at peace as I did in the church. I wanted to learn more. Eventually I completely converted. I have recently spent a lot of deep thought on myself, my place in life, and my religion. I've decided to leave the church for a while. It's not the religion I have issues with. It's the church. After we moved we had trouble finding a new church. The last church I went to I saw more judgement, more ridicule, more evil than I saw of what was being preached. Honestly, I saw very little actually being preached. The pastor made the entire hour-long sermon about himself. I was warned that this particular pastor was a narcissist but I wasn't expecting to that extreme. I gave up looking for a new church after that. I recently started falling back into my Buddhist routine with meditation and yoga. I go to a yoga class every weekend held at a church and the pastor comes, too. She is an amazing woman. She is the pastor of a Methodist church, but she's very tolerant of other religions and we got in a very deep conversation about Buddhism. I think I may attend her church after she returns from her vacation.
