      A lot of games I play don't have a lot of "handholding", but it's certainly easy to abuse a save system... which is why when I die in SCII, I delete the save file. ;)

      It's for people who just want to enjoy the story, which they've been really trying to hype up...even though it's looking like Starfox 64 again :P

       

      I don't really mind it though, that's usually the way it goes for most easy modes. Besides they also have "Glass Cannon mode" so it's not like they're catering to only handholding, but also ballsmashing

      I used to play a platform game called Metal Blob Solid (yes, I know, it's weird). That game had an "easy" mode, but it gave you only a half-satisfactory ending. To get the real ending you had to play on at least "normal" difficulty. I really like that, and I kinda wish they'd do more of that...
