      well the higher end one which is the Midland hh54vp or hh54 if there is any difference at all has the ability to program your county codes so that it only alerts you to things in your area only. It also has an alarm clock unlike the lower end one does. also the higher end one has a light indicator for alerts and an lcd or led display while the other one doesn't and so on.
