You know. In order for the material to be featured on the site, you will need a licence. And people are probably already rubbing their hands with smiles on their faces thinking of the money it will bring... ...until they witness sites refusing to buy their licences considering them not worthy to be featured and allocating their funds elsewhere. And suddenly you have sub-par websites barely anybody heard of to promote yourself PLUS you lose advertisment and potential income/recognition free sites would have brought.

I really want to see this take a turn in this direction.

It will backfire for sure, but the supporters will be unaffected, they are too far from us common folk to be affected.

Yeah... I guess the only hope now is to wait for people who actually understand something about the internet to replace the current joke politicians... maybe a few decades from now, emphasis on "maybe".
