I work with wood mostly, and there are masks but I usually use them for more lethal jobs.

Use PPE whenever possible. My hearing has gotten worse since my industrial job because I did not wear ear plugs often enough. It's best not to risk your health when you are still at a young age since you will have to live with it for the rest of your life.

It was not a loud job, but I totally understand, my boss is always encouraging it. Simply because his hearing has went too.
