Man, last weekend was...chaotic!!!  Okay, lemme explain what happened. First off, there was two qualifying sessions. Anton De Pasquale got pole position for the first race and he was supposed to start on the 2nd row of the grid. Mostert managed to knock him down to 3rd, but was disqualified and was sent to be back to the grid. apparently, they said it was for body-work. they said it was too wide. oh well. doesnt really matter IMO. I didnt know bout this til I saw Anton pull up to the front row of the grid and one of the spectators told me Mostert was disqualified.

I'm just happy there was a Shell V Power Mustang on the front row of the grid for the final race of the weekend. yeah, one of the red bull cars got pole position and I dont think Mostert would've been able to get in from of him and hold him off. Okay, so back to the first race. So, Anton got a terrible start off the line, but he managed to get past Van Gisbergen on the 3rd lap. he pretty much left 'em in the dust. Whincup had to pit twice because he had a puncture on the left rear. So yeah, it was similar to the punctures Anton and his team-mate had, but it was tiny in comparison. what was really impressive was Anton managed to make the tyres live. he pitted on lap 22. When I was watching the race, I was starting to get worried that SVG would get past him since he pitted on lap 12 and tyre degradation would come back to bite him in the arse, but he managed to stay in front of him and he pulled away, which gave him his 4th win of the year and he gave us something to cheer bout. I tell ya, all of the Shell V power fans (myself included) had a big, dirty grin on our faces.

James Courtney managed to get his first podium of the year. what's interesting is he put on a set of slicks before the start of the race. it was right on that threshold where the track was dry enough to go on slicks, but it was still greasy enough to stay on wets. for those who were on wets were playing it safe, but it was a matter of time before they had to go on slicks. as for the few who went on slicks, they had to get the heat in the tyres. the two walkinshaw cars on the 2nd row of the grid were the only other cars I saw that went on slicks and they sank like a stone. Courtney however, managed to stay in the lead pack and he had a good fight with will davison and he put himself in a position to get his first podium of the year. I was mighty impressed ^^ what's funny is that it started to rain just mins after the race had finished. Man, that was a close one! O.O

Now, lets talk bout the final race of the weekend. 12 mins before the start of the race, it started to rain. Everyone had to go on wets. Prior to the race, the weather forecast said there would be thunderstorms around 7PM. As you can see on the video, Bryce Fullwood jumped the start. later, there would be a collision between James Courtney and Brodie Kostecki, and that brought out the safety car.

on the restart, Van Gisbergen (who was 4th at the time) went off the track. I tell ya, to see that on the big screen and to hear all of the Ford fans cheering was something I will NEVER forget!!! that is EXACTLY what we wanted to see. on the restart, Van Gisbergen got a drive through penalty for supposively jumping on the lights when it went back to green. Unfortunately, it got withdrawn a few laps later.

when he went to the pits, one of the guys still had the gun on the wheel-nut as he was leaving the pits, and that gave him a drive through penalty. haha!!! suck on that, bitch!!! you thought you could get the officials to bend the rules for ya? all I can say is: karma is a bitch. DEAL WITH IT MOTHER-F*CKER  I love how he got absolutely WRECKED on the Sunday. 

On lap 26, the race was red flagged and it would not resume. I could tell everyone was disappointed, but...it is what it is. Unfortunately, his team-mate won the race.

(it honestly took me a while to realise that it was Whincup that was in the lead. I was way too busy focused on recording the start of the race and was shocked by what I saw. Of course, Bryce Fullwood would eventually get a drive through penalty for jumping the start, but I just couldnt believe what I saw. when the race went underway, Whincup CLEARLY had the faster car in the wet and was pulling away from Anton in 2nd place. After I'd finished recording, I could see one of the red bull cars in the lead when they were coming down the hill before it gave us a shot of the two boost mobile cars in the wall. I did not exactly see how Whincup managed to get to the front from 6th position, but when I looked at the replay when I got back, yeah. he managed to get past the 2nd row and he got past bryce fullwood), but I dont care. I'm satisfied. (if anything, I should look at it this way: this is his last season as a full-time V8 Supercars driver) to see Van Gisbergen go off the track and get a drive through penalty was the icing of the cake.  I f*cking HATE that c*nt!!!  I wanna see someone punt him into the wall and give him a taste of his own medicine  Chaz Mostert managed to get on the podium despite the fact that he started from the back of the grid.  

That has to be the most chaotic race I've ever seen!!!  to see the cars go around the track at night, in the wet was absolutely breath-taking. I tell ya, this was A LOT better than the day before. 

(Whew...I'm glad I got that out of the way. Now, I can rest easy, now that I've typed this up) ^^;  hopefully, next weekend will be just as entertaining)
