Well, I had a pretty good weekend. ^^ I just came back from the race-track and I'm SO pumped to see Anton De Pasquale get his 5th win of the year.
Link: https://www.supercars.com/news/championship/de-pasquale-matches-mclaughlins-smsp-haul-race-26-takeaways/he had a REALLY good start off the line. Whincup (who was alongside him on the front row) did not. he would pit on lap 16 and put on 4 tyres instead of two. when he came back out, whincup popped out in front of him and held him up a little bit. normally, when a red bull car gets in front of ya, it's game over, but no. he got past them like it was nothing. (I tell ya, Shell V power made the right call to put on 4 tyres. they could've put on two to gain track position, but then they wouldnt have the fire-power to fight back, so they burnt some time in the pits to put on 4 tyres and it ultimately paid off BIG TIME!!!) Van Gisbergen would pit a lap later and he too would get in front of Anton De Pasquale, but he managed to get past him on the same spot he got past Jaimie. To see a Shell V power car over-take not one, but BOTH of the red bull cars is SO satisfying. (Although, I'd like to think the two red bull cars squabbling over each for each-other for the first couple of laps played a part in this) That has got to be one of the best drives I've ever seen from Anton De Pasquale. he pulled off something 'scotty' couldnt. he absolutely kicked their arses. he was fastest in practice, fastest in qualifying and he won the race. F*CK YEAH!!! THAT's what I want to see!!!
Seriously, if he can keep this up when we get to bathurst, he's gonna win, for sure. it's a shame it took him this long to get used to the Shell V Power Mustang. oh well, with the pace that he's got, he's in a good position to WIN the bathurst 1000 ^^ I had a feeling he'd leave them in the dust.
If he can make it a clean sweep tomorrow, I'll be one happy camper
I'll upload the start of the race a bit later on my youtube channel. I tell ya, that was a BLOODY good performance from Anton De Pasquale. they picked the right guy to replace 'scotty' McLaughlin. he's truly unlocked his potential ^^
So how was ur day my friends? ^^ I hope it was as good as mine

Well, that's it for the Sydney SuperSprint. ^^ Overall, I had a lot of fun. I got everything was after. This was my last visit to eastern creek. We only bought tickets for the 2nd round and the 3rd round of the Sydney Cup (Yep, that’s what they’re calling it). There’s one more event at eastern creek, but I’m gonna watch that on the tellie / my laptop.
in case ur wondering, both of the shell cars qualified on the front row of the grid for race 1. (THAT is what I want to see)
They had an even start, Anton pitted on lap 14, got past his team-mate (who emerged in front of him when he came out of the pits. his team-mate pitted on lap 6, which I thought I was a stupid idea. A couple of laps later, he would sink like a stone / it would come back to bite him in the arse. Well, that's what happens when ya pit so early in the race) and he got his 5th win for Shell V power racing and his 6th in his career. so, that was good to see.

In the 2nd race, the two red bull cars were on the front row of the grid. (Yeah, that’s why I didn’t record the start of the final race of the weekend. I wanted to, but no...they had to spoil the party)
I wanted Anton (who was on the 2nd row of the grid) to get past the red bull cars (like he did yesterday) and leave them in the dust. Unfortunately, he fell back in the field. The only car that really had a fighting chance was Will Brown. When he went to the pits, he put on two tyres instead of 4 so he could get track position / get in front of the red bull cars and he put them on the working side of the car A.K.A on the right side. (From what I can remember, the red bull cars put on four tyres instead of two.) He had a lighting fast pit stop.
With 4 laps to go, he was running on empty (metaphorically speaking). His tyres were shot, and if it wasn’t for the two red bull cars fighting for position, they would’ve won the race. (what’s funny is when I watched the interview with Jaimie, he said he was all for himself. He was not interested helping his team-mate. Well, it’s thanks to him that Will Brown WON the race + he’s gonna retire at the end of the season) it was only a matter of time he'd win a race.
*sighs* Look, I’m just happy that the red bull cars did not win a race this weekend. It’s bout time!!! I’m sick ‘n tired of hearing ‘bout triple 8!!!
It’s good to see someone ELSE win, for a change.
