THIS IS HUGE!!! O.O I just woke up and this just popped up. FORMER factory Holden team Walkinshaw Andretti United will become...A FORD TEAM next year.
there was A LOT of speculation that this team would bring a new manufacturer into the V8 Supercars championship next year. OH F*CK YEAH, THAT IS F*CKING AWESOME!!!
I just said the other day that Chaz will always be a Ford driver, despite the fact that he made the switch to holden a couple of years ago. (for those of you who dont know, chaz mostert WON the bathurst 1000 in 2014, and 2021)
Okay, NOW I'm excited. in the last couple of events, Walkinshaw Andretti United has become the only team that is able to match the pace of the red bull cars, and it was starting to get kinda boring watching two holden teams duke it out against each-other. Next year, we'll have THREE VERY STRONG Ford Teams on our side. (thanks to the guidance of former triple 8 engineer david cauchi and the groves, Penrite Racing is now the leading ford team and it's so good to see Davey up at the pointy end of the field. they've kept throwing performance parts at the cars and now, they're even better than the shell cars, which is pretty ironic considering they've been the leading ford team for the last couple of years
)
Welcome back Chaz!!! ^w^ ...and we also get Nick Percat. I met Nick in a signing session back in 2017. he was a really nice guy. Now, I can support him for real. Ohh man, the combination of Grove Racing (David Reynolds), Shell V Power Racing (Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison) and now, Walkinshaw Andretti United (Chaz Mostert and Nick Percat), they are gonna DESTROY Triple 8 next year.
this has to be the best news I've heard all year. I remember back in the early 2010s when these two were fighting for factory backing from GM / Holden. Ultimately, it was triple 8 that came out on top and they left the Holden Racing Team in the dust. from 2017, they lost their factory backing and in 2018, the team was bought by Michael Andretti. the team started to re-build themselves from the ground up, similar to when Roger Penske bought 50% of Dick Johnson Racing back in 2015. It wasnt til they signed up chaz, that was when they really turned thing around. but yeah, it's hard to believe these guys were the ORIGINAL Holden Racing Team, and now, they are racing for Ford. yeah, it comes to show ya that these guys do not like each other. (Walkinshaw Andretti United and Triple 8) and they want to get their revenge.

'WAU was naturally keen to emphasise that it has manufacturer support for the first time since 2016, when Holden moved factory team status to Triple Eight Race Engineering'
"To have manufacturer support once again is essential for our race team and the goals we have, and we thank Ford for their trust in us." - Ryan Walkinshaw
"It wasn’t a decision we made lightly, but it was the clear direction forward. Thank you to the entire Ford team, both in Australia and globally." - Zak Brown

'On the news that he’ll race a Gen3 Mustang next year, Mostert was pumped.'
"I’ve had a long and successful relationship with Ford in the past, so it’s really exciting to be re-joining the Blue Oval in 2023 and beyond. It will be a bit of a homecoming to step back into a Mustang, that’s for sure." - Chaz Mostert
"I’m really excited about Gen3 and our partnership with Ford. Of course, it will be different to see the Ford badge on the front of our cars, but it will be fantastic to have manufacturer support." - Nick Percat

"Walkinshaw Andretti United exists for one reason, to win, and aligning with an international powerhouse that is Ford, gives us the best chance to continue our journey back to the top, as a manufacture supported team once more. The decision Michael, Zak, and I, and our entire organisation has made, was made for success. It was the obvious choice." - WAU
"...And to the majority of our incredible fans that want to follow us into our new era, strap yourselves in, it’s going to be one hell of a ride!" - WAU

"We’re looking to work with the best organisations, and the best people to get the Blue Oval to the front of the pack, to put on the best show for our fans. We’re excited to welcome our former rivals into the family, and look forward to many years of success in conjunction with WAU." - Ford CEO
"WAU have been our rivals in V8 Supercars for a very long time, and are now joining our Blue Oval programme. We’re excited to have them." - Ford CEO
'The arrangement means that WAU is a manufacturer-supported team for the first time since 2016, its final year as the Holden Racing Team before factory status was pulled and transferred to Triple Eight Race Engineering. Since then, it spent a year as HSV Racing, before morphing into the current tri-party entity.'

Well, that's pretty cool.
okay, so it's just been confirmed that David Reynolds and Cameron Waters will share an Audi in the Bathurst 12 hour along with an AM. Okay, I know this is supposed a PRO-AM entry, but this is more of a PRO line-up. I aint complaining. this is gonna be a REALLY strong entry.
to see Camo and Davey in the same car, man...they're gonna win, for sure.
okay, my money's on this Audi and the SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes
(both Camo and Davey are ford drivers in the V8 Supercars championship)
