Today was a weird day.
Earlier I mentioned in one of my previous status updates, that I need to buy another electrical heater, because one decided to break last year.
Today I went to shop to get one, actually to few shops, because it turned out, that all of these were sold out already.
The thing is, that there were many electrical heaters, but I needed something more... You see, after all that home renovation I discovered something disappointing afterwards... That my home suffers from high humidity. An electrical heater would bring that nice heat, but would also generate disastrous side effects. That's what I learned in the past years by having to constantly clean the mess (water in the corners appearing out of nowhere etc.).
So I had to buy the bigger guns - something with airflow, something that would do more than just heating -- That brought me to air conditioners.
These devices are more complicated than just a heater, so I had troubles with deciding which one would work best for me... I wasn't even sure what to look for to be honest.
But well, I did a marathon and visited few shops and everything was sold out. Everything but the very last device in one of these shops, so I guess I didn't have to be bothered by choosing the perfect one.
The worker presented that device to me and explained what it can do. Everything seemed okay, so I believed it will solve all the problems and decided to buy it.
SpoilerMy first impressions are... mixed.
First I had to make a hole in the wall, so I grabbed my pickaxe and started mining in the wall. I got some stones!
Didn't find anything valuable though.
The good news are, that I finally said goodbye to the cold.
It also dried the air a lot, so everything is getting back to normal now.
Why the mixed impressions? ...That's because that device is loud and kinda confusing in general. I mean, I think heating isn't that loud, as the fans and stuff don't seem to generate that much noise. But now the other part - taking the cold to the outside is what is loud. The heating mode automatically turns the aggressive back fans ON requiring to have a way out to the outside and it also catches/produces water in one of the outputs. It doesn't seem like it could be disabled. From what I've read in manual, it is because this is a pump heating model (whatever it exactly means
), so it just works that way. Apparently I'll have to switch it OFF when going to sleep, as even the "Sleep" function it provides doesn't have mercy. It is a "portable" device, so I imagined it will be simpler and more friendly to operate&maintain, but in the end all that stuff I need to pay attention to makes me worried.
Well... I just hope it will be doing its job and will last longer than just a year. That's all I care about. All my monthly salary went towards this after all. Hah, this air conditioner has dried my bank account.
Get it?
Seriously though, if something will go wrong, I'll be regretting that decision for a long, long time.
Those extra bonuses in electric bills though... Oh boy, let's see how bad it will get.
Winter is so much fun!

No worries, things shouldn't be that bad.
I think I may keep the device actually. I'm not sure what are the procedures, but it usually takes a while before they'll look into it and decide if they can accept the return, not mentioning having to wait for money. There's no time for waiting.
I'll give it some more time, maybe it won't be as bad as my first impressions tell. Well, I'll see how it goes..
Thank you, much appreciated.
