It's funny how transformations in DBZ are conveyed 1000x more impressive than the ones in DBS, which are supposed to be universal+ in power

DBZA made Goku dumb. The American dub picked up on the dumb part from Abridged, and then TOEI Animation picked up from there, I guess.
The main problem is that Goku isn't a hero. he is creating more problems than solving them, for personal gain. And, don't forget, he still knows Instant Transmission and doesn't even bother to teach his son how to use it. He is a good father? He is a good character? He is a hero?

Goku, by the Cell saga, had a heroic spirit - true, he liked fighting strong guys, but from the Frieza saga onwards it was as much as fighting bad guys as much as saving the earth.
Against Cell: sacrificed himself, and let Gohan take his place as Earth's protector.
Against Buu: could have killed Fat Buu (it was explicited sometime after their fight), but choose to let Goten and Trunks do the job by teaching them the Fusion dance.
Goku is the kind of character that doesn't change much, but changes the world around him. Why do you think everyone is desperately waiting for him almost every arc in DBZ .
But in DBS, they just made him stupid as fuck, thinking only about fighting the strongest, and being really dumb - the worst for me was the scene where Goku, a 50 years old man with two kids and a grand-daughter, doesn't know what a kiss is. I hate it, I hate it.
