Yeah, the forum is just not the same anymore. I saw it as the most fun and best designed website, before all the changes that is. I prefer forums over Discord, because I love the topics and categories and I can login whenever I want and have things at my own pace. No pressure.
After almost a week of break, I was able to look through all posts in 30 minutes at most, this place is a graveyard compared to what it was. I'm not even sure if I would still enjoy the site without the bugs. I'm afraid of more changes, I even started to use a fake mail for this site some time ago. I was thinking what if the hosts decide to just turn on the e-mail notifications or something like that? The trust is gone.

I love FiM so much, probably everypony knows that by now. I just want a place that...enhances that experience, you know? Many people switched to G5, so it kinda took that away from me. And the bugs or changes took the rest away...
Again, there is nothing I love more than FiM. The changes here and many people moving on will never change that. Sites like Derpibooru are still rocking when it comes to FiM and I can make my own content too. The FiM flame will NEVER extinguish!

I think with this post I also lost my last reason to stay here. Your words before encouraged me to stay, but now that you leave... I will move on as well. The forums will probably only change more and more in the future and not for the better I assume. I have sworn to myself to not leave again, but it's not the site anymore I knew and loved. I was VERY frustrated before, then I tried to take it with humor, not even G5 bothers me much anymore. But now I only feel empty and lost my hope. Personally though, I won't return.

I already asked and mentioned Discord in a post some time ago, so that's it.

I also love other styles! But only a few really hit my personal taste, you know? Some art styles look even better than FiM's style! I'm actually not a fan of when people use vector graphics. Because vector graphics don't feel so creative, don't really offer me anything new. (Coco here is an excepion of course.) I think I like it when art looks close to the originals. I mean when it's too different, I would barely recognize the characters. Or if they add eyebrows or make the eyes smaller, it wouldn't appeal to me anymore. Things like that.

Oh, that's funny. Well...I personally can't complain. To have "more" of Starlight is always better, haha.

That's true. We have to be careful too. At first I tried the tag "-PL", thinking it would filter the Pony Life images. But PL stands for Princess Luna! Of course, she was there before Pony Life. And Pony Life doesn't even have an abbreviation.
I don't always use filters. Like, when I quickly want to search for images I could post here, minus tags are very good for this.

I use custom streams since February, so not a single thing changed for me after the update/upgrade or whatever you wanna call it. Besides the blank status bug of course.
The thing is...I don't only want to see the status posts like you and the others, but also the normal posts. So I have a stream for my close circle and friends, excluding the ones who spam in Forum games so much. It would bother me as notifications, so I have a stream for around 20 people and I see everything. Notifications always bothered me. I just want to do things at my own pace. I only want to use them for mentions, quotes and reactions (which is still possible), basically only the important stuff. If I had the option to follow or unfollow status posts, it would be perfect.

She even has two fandom names, I'm sure you know that, the other is Summer Flare! I wonder which name is more popular. Sometimes I think it's Cinder Glow just because it comes first in alphabetical order, haha. She is also one of many characters I have seen all art of.

Yes! It's also easier to discover good art, when a character doesn't have much art in general. The thing is...I don't like most of the highest rated ones, I have a different taste compared to most others. I often enjoy art with a lower rating. The first image I printed has a score of around 230. I mean I enjoy art with a score of ~1,000 too, but it's very rare. I prefer it when the characters look like in the show or very similar, instead of going for a "new" or "unique" style. Not talking about vectors here! It should have some more effort put into it. I don't know, I feel more unknown artists do a better job. Especially when they really love a character! They know every inch of a character and draw with so much love!

And a problem I see with at least 50% of all images, is that they draw the cutie marks incorrectly or the wrong way around. Something that many popular artists do. I can easily recognize if they really care about the characters or if they are a "good" artist in the first place, when I only look at the cutie mark.

I have to edit almost all images I like. And the incorrect cutie marks are one reason for it.

I didn't look up much of the Mane 6 art yet, as it would take so much time to find the good art and to reach the lower rated ones.

I even see Derpibooru as the best art site in general, since it has an excellent tag system, filters and the hide option. The site also looks good, loads quickly, is not confusing. Perfect. <3
I really wish normal art sites would be more like this. Looking for art on DeviantArt is not fun, everyone writes the tags differently. Like: twilightsparkle, twilight-sparkle, twilight_sparkle, twilightsparklemlp etc. To find everything, I must think of all kinds of variations. And also hope(!) they don't make typos.

A site like Derpibooru dedicated to other things would be so nice, like Pokémon or Nintendo.

That's true. I really like the character named "Composed Kirin". Haha, though, I prefer the fan names for her. But Gameloft does cool things, such as the punkstyles for Starlight.

Yeah, Coco only made it in the montage at the end. She is such a nice character, I would have liked if there was more of her in general.

It actually made me very relieved that Sunset Shimmer was never part of the FiM series, but that's just me. I don't want Equestria Girls be part of FiM and it would have made things tricky for me. That being said, I don't even dislike Equestria Girls, I enjoyed the movies and Sunset has a nice personality.
But it's sad that Equestria Girls didn't receive its own finale, I feel with the fans here.

I do the same! Most of the background names aren't even official, so I have to look up screencaps with them and click through the names until I find the right ones. Sometimes I get really surprised by how good the art is! I'm always happy when a good artist is fan of a specific side or background pony.

I would say it's up to us fans to give the characters more depth. Coming up with my own ideas made me more invested with the characters. And looking up the art of course.

I don't count the montages in the finale either. Coco even played an important role when she returned. And the other time she was sick. I mean I feel sorry for her, but she looked so cute still. And then I remember she was mentioned, she came up with Disco Ball outfit.

I actually still have to look up her art. But that's a perfect design, I like it!

Aww. But you didn't start to draw circles as well, did you? The Last Laugh has characters in it that I like a ton! It's so nice Kettle Corn also made it in.

I would have loved to see more of her too. When she returned in Shadow Play for a short time, that was so nice! It made me so happy that the creators thought of her for that moment!

She is my favorite kid character in the show. The moment here where she is so excited really stuck with me. I'm sure she will become a fantastic and passionate archaeologist!

@Dark Horse But even if these things get "fixed", our MLP Forums will still get affected by changes they make in the future, right?

I'm wondering if it's possible for us to be independent, so that their changes don't affect us anymore. Basically sticking to an older forums version or the current one. I can imagine that it might be illegal or something, I don't know. So I'm just asking if it's possible.

It's not a bug, but actual "feature". The only hope we have, is, if the developers of the forums software change their mind about it. The "hope" is all we have at this point, we can't influence their decisions. But you can use streams for what you miss. My Activity Stream -> My Friends Statuses.

@Flutterstep I'm sorry, but what you talk about is no bug, but a new "feature". And it will get worse, because the developers of the forums software (not our staff) plan to fuse all the notification settings together. In the end, we can either turn it all on...or turn it all off. You can choose between endless spam or a completely silent forum.

It will only get worse from here on out.

@Nsxile I'm also wondering if it's possible to return to an older version of the forums software. I remember that the forums in 2020 offered everything I liked, only the friends list wasn't there yet.
