I personally like alt rock, but if it's easier/more fun for you, then it should be dnb. :twilightsheepish:

@Samurai Equine I like both! Their last single had some liquid dnb on one side and jazzy downtempo thing on the other side, it's really good.

mega thread What are you thinking?

I would say something about this but when I was a lot younger, I used to hang out with this one kid from school and he got me to throw rocks at people's backdoor patios. This was in an apartment complex, so there were floors to aim for. And yeah we hit the glass doors a few times. Funny enough was we didn't get in trouble for that. There's actually quite a bit of stuff we did that somehow we didn't get in trouble for. It was hanging out in the public rec room without someone who was at least 16 that got us. We were like 10 or 11 when this happened. You can tell he wasn't the best influence on me right?

I want to start getting random eurorack modules and make funny robot techno noises but it's so expensive :v
  6. Thank you for writing this. This reinforces for me why "love and tolerate" doesn't work. I kinda talked about it somewhere, don't remember where exactly tho. On paper it sounds great, except in practice when something unsavory or sketchy was done, it was used to basically lessen how bad it actually was. It's such a cheap way out. It feels the same as "You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would you?" Ironically, you'd expect people saying this to also love and tolerate back, but most of the time it was not like that. It's very one-sided. "Love and tolerate me, my interests and my actions but I won't do the same for you" is what I got out of it every time I read or hear some something that has that phrase (especially the older the discussion is). Also you can only love and tolerate for so much before you can't love and tolerate anymore. This happens to everyone at some point. It's not a good feeling when you try to be nice and inclusive towards someone who might have a rocky history and despite promising otherwise, they just keep DOING it whether out of habit or "it's funny" and that causes you to snap at them, cut ties or whatever else. What's not surprising is there's an example of this in G4. It's the episode where Fluttershy was tasked with reforming Discord, but he was being such an ass to everyone that she blew a fuse by the end of it. In other words, she was "loving and tolerating" him until she couldn't anymore. It wasn't the only thing being taught in that episode (and they made up so quickly, I wish it took another scene in between to get to that point so it felt more natural) but these things get taught by the show, explicitly or not. Mind you that I don't think the show is 100% gospel on how one should live their life. A lot of the life lessons are intentionally oversimplified for the younger audience while keeping some nuance. It's also not the only show to do this. It's just a relevant example that comes to mind.
  7. Ok so basically I was told that the gamecube I had when I was really little was tossed out a long time ago since it was broken. But I found the family wii and it's the original release model that can natively play them. I'm basically just looking for game recommendations since I have only vague memories of it. So for anyone that has played on a gamecube, what's your favorite games on there?
  8. Lol I ordered a pizza from domino's and everything went well, but domino's thought something went wrong so I get free pizza next time :sealed:

  9. Objection! Those were all fun words and also I drew a penguin playing in the snow with a seal.

...I mean, I would accept, but that's not really a skill I have right now. :applejackconfused: I'd need someone to show me the ropes just to get started, and that could be a long education process.
Maybe there is someone else who is more deserving than me?

  12. I'm caught in a mix between Balatro, Shadows of Doubt, and Forza Horizon 5. I caved into Balatro and it's been addictive though I'm bad at it. Shadows of Doubt I picked up again because the devs were updating it again, though I wish they didn't release the game from early access so... early. But if they're still working on it, maybe they can do the thing where the game gets slowly updated over a few years and becomes a really good game? Who knows. I forgot I had Forza Horizon 5, so I began using it for benchmarking purposes, but I find it to be quite enjoyable to pick a random car and drive around without needing to worry about always winning to progress.
  13. I guess with dance music it's a little different. Albums are albums but EPs are usually treated like mini albums most of the time. Exclusive content, acapellas, and alternate mixes will be wherever it wants to be, even released as a separate single. Anyways I listen to both. I don't usually listen to compilation albums if they keep putting the same songs over and over on it (looking at you Hospital Records). Only compilations with new stuff I will listen to.

  22. What's the worst name for a music genre you ever came across? And maybe it's surprised you when you listened to some works from it and it became one of your favorites? It can be anything from silly to ridiculous. For me, it would be "Intelligent Drum & Bass/jungle" over anything else. It makes it sound like every other style and sub-genre is "dumb" in comparison. Apparently it came from British media labeling it as such and it stuck, for some reason. From Wikipedia about it: Yeah, no. Just because it's jazzier and "softer" than the more hardcore jungle dnb coming out around that time doesn't make it more "intelligent" than anything else. It just makes it sound too posh and uptight, like, "You're an idiot if you don't listen to the intelligent tunes like me!" which obviously isn't true and should never be true for any music genre. I'll personally stick to calling it "Ambient/Atmospheric Drum & Bass/Jungle" since that describes it MUCH better and is less pretentious. (I tend to swap those names around a bit but they're used to refer to the same thing.) Great example IMO: "Intense - West Side Blues" released in 1997, one of my personal favorites as of late And yes, that's a real sax performance on an EDM song! Little fun fact related to this: One of the members of Intense, Dan Duncan, had his father, Malcolm "Molly" Duncan, on the sax for their songs, who was a founding member of Average White Band and has also worked with a lot of other folks like Marvin Gaye, Tom Petty, and Dire Straits. All of those in itself is a totally different rabbit hole to jump through so I won't do it here, but you're free to search his name and find out the work he's done. Crazy connections though, there's a lot of cool history here!
