  1. Equipment issues have delayed the release a bit to August or September. But here's the site: http://unwindlinux.org/ EDIT: Screwed up the Nginx configuration file. Gotta re-do the server now, brb.
  2. Plan is to be a ready desktop without any un-needed stuff like GNOME and KDE(?) has.

I'd use Grooveshark if they didn't bill yearly (last time I checked).

How do you get your music? I use Spotify. If you do not know what Spotify is, it is a service where you can get ad-supported music for free, legally. If you do not want ads and want to be able to listen offline, they have a $9.99/mo option where you get no ads, unlimited listening time (free edition limited to 10 hours a month), and the ability to listen on phones/tablets/etc. (basically anything that isn't a PC).
  5. Hi, I was wondering what everyone thinks of my plans for a Linux distro I'm creating: "Unwind Linux is a Gentoo-based GNU/Linux distribution aiming at "simplistic minimalism". This means you get just the essentials and no extra programs, like the default GNOME extra apps. You get a desktop, package manager, browser and some GNU tools. Development started in July 2012 and is aiming for a late 2012 release. It relies mostly on open source software unlike some competitors who mix open source and proprietary software." Support: Free forum support and $59 a year premium support (premium includes phone, ticket, and VNC remote desktop support. Phone is limited to 5 incidents a month and unlimited for everything else). Desktop: XFCE 4 Kernel: Hardened Gentoo kernel Package manager: Pacman (Portage included but not managed by Unwind) Installer: Anaconda or custom installer Requirements: Not specified yet, but expected RAM usage is at least 256MB and a 1.0GHz processor.
  6. Here I Come by The Roots Also known as the theme to 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'.
  7. You and Me by Lifehouse I swear I have the worst music tastes.
  8. I think the MLP:FiM writers were watching too much anime when they wrote that scene. Seems similar.
  9. Status was glitching on me so I left like 5 replies on a status by accident. Oops. xD

      Filly Pinkie Pie

Sometimes I do that on accident.

    2. False Perception

      False Perception

Not a glitch, but lag. Just hit "comment" once, and then go back to the HP. It'll still post.

  10. Exactly what I was going for, and I'll add a few ponies later, just for this forum. Thanks for telling me.
  11. I am creating a Linux distribution if you didn't know by now, and was wondering what you think of my new logo for it. I honestly do not know how I got the inspiration for it. I simply started using the path tool in The GIMP, then started searching open source fonts so I knew I could use it without getting into an issue. What do you think?
  12. I wish Amazon had someway to get stuff to you instantly (like, within seconds). Oh well. xD

    1. Doctor XFizzle

      Doctor XFizzle

From what I've heard through the grapevine, that might actually be coming soon except it would be same-day, not instant

  13. I'll go first. Regular laptop: 2.9GHz AMD Phenom II x2 N640 320GB HDD 4GB DDR3 RAM ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Windows 7 Home Premium Developer laptop: 1.9GHz AMD Athlon II 64 x2 160GB HDD 3GB DDR2 RAM nVIDIA Geforce 8200G M Unwind Linux 2013 (soon, now it's just Arch Linux) I know my developer laptop sucks, which is why I'm going to look for a new one LOL. You?
  14. Save Tonight by Eagle-Eye Cherry I think I have the "1990's" button on by mistake.
  15. I gave up on it and ended up buying a TP-LINK adapter off Amazon. It's ath9k drivers so it should work natively.
  16. Probably would work, I have a DIR-601. Thanks! BTW I'm using this for my Linux development machine.
  17. Which is better for a wireless bridge? I'm trying to create one for a laptop that doesn't have wireless access yet, and the router is downstairs.
  18. 60% chance of storms, yay. At least I hope it ends our drought. :P

  19. Well, tried DD-WRT on an old router today. Now onto OpenWRT trying to get it to bridge my downstairs wi-fi. Reason being, the Arch CD has no drivers for Broadcom wi-fi.
  20. Simtropolis member Suzaku here. I love SC4. I just am a terrible city planner LOL. For example, no matter how I zone I'd get no development in a few game years.
  21. What usernames did you used to go by? I've gone by two major ones, Suzaku (on one site, Simtropolis), and Cloggedone (others). I'd rather not prefer cloggedone due to the negative rep it has behind it. BUT, I don't mind sharing that used to be my username, despite the risks I take by revealing that.
  22. Recently the water company in Indy got bought by the gas company (Citizens Energy), and some say it's gotten bad since they bought it. I cannot remember the old name, I know it's Citizens Water now....
