Absolutely. Unless they added more communication options in Splatoon 2, there isn't much opportunity for toxicity to escalate. Although people could still throw, the nature of the game makes it hard to tell who's putting in the most work, so people can't get too bigheaded thankfully.

Well said. Though I do think the voice chat should be a standard feature without a dumb smartphone app. I feel the best way to do that would be, have voice chat disabled by default on the system and allow for parental controls to disable it for their child's account. Seems like an easy idea to me.

There's also the big thing in Splatoon where it is not about kills and is about just, going nuts all over the map. Makes it great for pretty much any type of player and not about those brain-dead kill/death ratios.

Dear god, I didn't know they had voicechat through a phone app. That's pretty awful. Like you said, parental controls would be the much, much better feature.
