Nohbdy's post in A "wait for approval from moderator" button was marked as the answer
No need to do that. The devs have already implemented that feature. Throwing a rock would be rather rude after what they've done for us! x)
To make use of this feature, enter the advanced editing mode (aka, "More Reply Options") and look at the Post Options bar on the right. Then, simply check the "Wait for Approval" box and post as usual.
So, with all that said, let's give our devs a round of applause! It's our hope that this option will allow users to participate with confidence, and to get moderator feedback before their posts are published for the world to see. Now people have even less of an excuse to post recklessly. Be sure to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Happy posting!

Nohbdy's post in How long does it take for a post to be reported? was marked as the answer
Reports are sent to the mods immediately, but it may take some time before the appropriate response is made. Oftentimes, this is because some reports have a higher priority than others. Other times, it may simply be that more mods need to provide input before an action is carried out. The idea is that we'd rather take longer by having a solid set of opinions than to make a hasty judgment.

Nohbdy's post in What does it mean when user content is missing? was marked as the answer
It means search is down. Should be up now. Next time, be sure to give the techs a shout (with a tech support ticket) if you see this happening. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience.
EDIT: Only half of my post went through.

Nohbdy's post in Are they still doing donations to the Christmas Drive? was marked as the answer
This is correct. Unfortunately, the deadline was on December 12, although we did provide a short grace period that lasted into the 13th. The good news is that we've raised a ton of money for the charity, and we'll keep you guys updated with a followup announcement!

Nohbdy's post in Does NSFW apply to sugestive artwork or fanfics? was marked as the answer
MLP Forums has an FAQ article that may be helpful to you:
Hope that helps. If not, be sure to keep asking!

Nohbdy's post in Contact information not working? was marked as the answer
This is correct. The system is supposed to recognize your username and automatically form the correct url. By entering the entire address into the field, you're effectively linking to "youtube.com/user/https://www.youtube.com/user/[channel_name]," so YouTube interprets the URL as your channel name.
I've fixed it for you, @Treble Bolt. Let me know if that answers your question.

Nohbdy's post in IP tracking... was marked as the answer
IP addresses are logged and saved whenever you visit a website. Some sites make them public, but we do our best to keep them as private as possible. Generally speaking, IP addresses can't be used to identify you personally. Identification would require a legal subpoena to the Internet service provider (like Comcast).
Hope that helped!

Nohbdy's post in Shoutbox / globalchat? was marked as the answer
As ooBrony stated, we did have a chat feature in the past. It worked for a while, but as the site grew, it became impossible to moderate effectively. It was ultimately decided that the efforts of the staff were better focused on the forums themselves. For that reason, the chat was shut down permanently. Read this announcement for more details.
If you want to chat with your fellow members, we encourage you to use off-site services such as Google, Skype, and IRC. We also have an on-site General Chat Thread that you can check out.
To provide a more direct response to your suggestion, I'm afraid I must answer it with a no. A shoutbox/chat is a frequent suggestion, but we know from experience that the benefits from such a feature simply don't outweigh the costs.

Nohbdy's post in Twitter link in profile was marked as the answer
Added a field for Twitter. No image yet, but that can be added at some point. IPB doesn't support custom field titles (not without major tweaking, anyway), but I did test a text area that allows people to enter any information they thought could be useful. I ended up throwing it out because people could abuse it by linking to inappropriate sites. The About Me area should suffice for the time being.
EDIT: Added icon and automatic link.

Nohbdy's post in Where is the BronyCon forum? was marked as the answer
Unlike the conventions and projects that are listed here, BronyCon's not a Poniverse partner. What this means is that Poniverse (MLP Forums' parent organization) works with certain groups, and these groups have their forums hosted on MLP Forums.
To get straight to the point, there's no BronyCon forum here. You'll have to visit BronyCon's own boards for that. Good luck!

Done. In the future, you can ask an admin through PM.

Nohbdy's post in Programming Forum? was marked as the answer
In order to avoid cluttering up the site with unused sections, new forums are created only as needed. If there was enough demand for such a forum, then I'd be all for creating it. As it is, however, there's not enough to warrant its creation. For now, we have a Technology category in Media Discussion.
EDIT: We also have a dedicated programming thread for any general discussion on the topic.

Nohbdy's post in Poniverse Login Error was marked as the answer
That looks like a technical problem. File a tech support ticket so the IT team sees it.

Nohbdy's post in I can't get to my notification options page was marked as the answer
Due to the heavily modified nature of MLP Forums, many of our modifications (aka "hooks") cause problems with the IP.Board theme. The staff are aware of these issues. In the meantime, however, switching to the MLP Forums theme will serve as a temporary solution.

Nohbdy's post in Where is my commission for a paid product? was marked as the answer
Hey, Lightning Bliss. Sorry to hear that you've been experiencing difficulties with the commissions system. For best results, however, I'd suggest that you bring this issue up with an administrator. I'll be locking this thread. Good luck!

Nohbdy's post in Bug: Status comments disappear when clicking "Show All" was marked as the answer
It's a bug. I've seen that happen a few times, as well. It's best that you send this issue to the tech team via support ticket. Good luck!

Nohbdy's post in Can't Create Signature? was marked as the answer
Welcome to MLP Forums, Brittney! Thanks for your question. Blank Flanks can't add signatures. You need to be at Muffin rank (that is, make at least five posts) to gain that ability. Please check out the relevant FAQ for more details.
Also, I've moved your thread to Site Questions & Tech Support. Questions that have to do with the site should go here (or, if they're technical or can't be posted in public, in a support ticket). Thanks for understanding!

Nohbdy's post in Why can't text be saved on PMs!? was marked as the answer
As others have said, it's likely an issue with the forum software. For now, you can use the following workaround:
When you find yourself writing a lengthy post (PM or otherwise), use an external text editor such as Notepad, TextEdit, or even Word. Then, after completion, copy/paste the contents of the editor into the on-site editor. The only thing to do after that is formatting, and nothing else. If you do that, you won't have to rely on MLPF's autosave feature at all. Don't depend on something else when you can depend on yourself!
Hope that helped!

Nohbdy's post in Deleting a Profile was marked as the answer
Negative. Accounts are never banned or deleted by request, as doing so would remove information associated with them. Generally speaking, the staff prefer not to delete anything unless absolutely necessary.
If there's specific information that users want removed, they should contact the staff and provide an explanation.
See the FAQ on account deletion for more details. Hope that helped!

Nohbdy's post in No Response from Tech@mlpforums/Cannot Log In was marked as the answer
Your issue sounds like something for a tech admin to handle. Your best bet is to file a support ticket. That way, you'll be able to receive more personal attention. Good luck!
EDIT: Also, as for problems getting responses, I can tell you that they are, indeed, quite busy, and there are typically many tickets to respond to. You could try sending an admin a PM, however.

Nohbdy's post in A LGBT Section! was marked as the answer
The sentiment is acknowledged, OP, but there are a few things that make a dedicated LGBT section unfeasible.
Although MLP Forums is supports those from all walks of life, the staff are very conservative about adding new forum sections. We create new sections only as needed. The Debate Pit, for example, was necessary because of the sheer volume of controversial topics in General Discussion. The now-defunct Alicorn Twilight forum was created for similar reasons. Equestria Girls was created because it was an entirely new part of the franchise.
LGBT isn't nearly big enough to warrant its own section. We do have many members who identify with or support the group, but discussion can easily be confined to just a few topics at most. Exchanging ideas and meeting like-minded friends can easily be accomplished in one of these threads. If they don't exist already, then you're certainly free to make them!

Nohbdy's post in Cant see posts was marked as the answer
In your roleplay audition, you violated the character minimum. This is against the rules of the site. Posts that attempt to circumvent this minimum are promptly removed.
You are also not in the moderation queue, so you should be able to post freely, and without the need for moderator approval. It's possible that you didn't see your post. If the issue persists, however, you can file a support ticket so that the administration can look into it.

Nohbdy's post in Mod Queue? was marked as the answer
I discussed the mod queue with you in our earlier PM conversation, but I'll post a public response so that others can see it.
The mod queue is a penalty for users whose posts have been deemed consistently inappropriate. It exists to preserve the quality of the community, and to encourage more appropriate posting habits for the affected member.
If you are mod queued, then your posts will require moderator approval before they are shown to the public. This applies for all posts and comments, though you can still use the private messaging feature. The mod queue may be permanent, or it may be temporary, depending on what the mods have set. While this setting can be changed, the only time I can see a mod queue being lifted is for a genuinely good reason. Generally speaking, permanent means permanent, though you can try to dispute or appeal your punishment.
