She didn't hear him. When he looked over, Genesis was lost in thought, deeply entrenched in reading; yellow eyes scanning words and flipping pages. She was quiet; almost deathly so, silently mouthing words that were too complicated for her to understand.

Rick watched her for a couple seconds before it was obvious she wasn't paying him anymore attention. He shrugged, the chick was kind of cute when she wasn't glaring at something, he lit the pipe and committed himself back to notebook. Every so often he would stop to pick the pipe back up or to grab his own notebook and write something down. He put a headphone in one ear and listened to music as he worked, everything was just chill and the stuff he was reading was interesting. He had thought he didn't want anyone around when he was down here but she was quiet and the presence of another person was at least reassuring.

Amber appeared on the screen and waited for a moment before saying something in the direction of Rick, "you know that smoking is really bad for your health... Anyway have any news for me you two, it may be interesting in here but I don't know about the outside world."

Tempest sighed as he sat outside on one of the benches. He had found most of the classes he had for the day to be quite boring and at times very tedious. The teen knew that he would have to somehow balance the dullness of the real world with the excitement of Lyoko, but he sometimes, no most of the time, preferred that he had stayed in a Lyoko with Amber. At the very least he could protect her that way. Tempest put both hands to his face and dragged them down, before he opened up his laptop and pulled up the video on the disk. "Should I really be doing this? Would this really have all the answers I'm looking for?" He thought, continuing to debate with himself if he should play the video or not. A deep knot had formed in his stomach from the stress he had been through, and he scrolled the cursor over to where I rested above the video.

 

(Might as well assume that the scene at the factory is happening during lunch.)

Dan was not having a good day. Even though the first day should be a breeze for anyone, he was always an antsy one. He hated staying still, unless he was sleeping. This made class the ultimate bore. When  he finally got out for lunch, he was considering skipping the rest of the day. "it is the first day." he said to himself, "Nothing important is happening anyway." He made his way to the cafeteria and filled up his plate three times over. He always ate a lot. It made people wonder where he put it all. Once done, he went outside to stretch his legs a bit.

He then noticed his roommate on a bench with his laptop. "Yo Tempest." He said as he made his way over. Dan then noticed that Tempest seemed a little nervous. "What's wrong dude?"

Meghan got out of class feeling nervous and scared. Even thouh it was only just the first day, she was already being told off for wearing gloves when she wasn't supposed to. As soon as soon as class ended, she quickly put the gloves back on and shoved her hands deep into her pockets. Not feeling particularly hungry, Meghan headed for her dorm, unlocked it with the provided key and sat on one of the empty beds; feeling extremely sorry for herself.

Tempest jumped slightly, and glanced at Dan. "Nothing. I just found a security tape at the factory, and I'm debating on whether or not to play it." He said. "I guess I might as well, seeing as how you're here, and I can't exactly return the tape." With that, the teen clicked on the video. It took a few seconds to start up, but when the video began to play, he was shocked at what he saw. The video had his dad and uncle in it, and it seemed like they were discussing something important, probably having something to do with Lyoko. "No. That's not possible." He said, utter devastation evident in his voice.

Genesis chose to ignore Amber; the hours had flown by and now she was hungry. She got up, gathering her papers and turned to leave "Peace,stalker."

She left, going to her dorm room. She froze; mildly surprised to find someone else in her room, especially someone she kind of remembered from the night before. First she deposited the books into her desk and then sat on her bed.

 

"You don't look too good, mate" Genesis nodded over to Meghan.

 

Whisper couldn't see Meghan anywhere at lunch and sighed. She took her heaping tray of food outside, where she saw Dan and Tempest. Tempest seemed absolutely shocked about something; so she went over to investigate "Hi, Tempest. Is everything okay?"

Meghan looked up at the sound of Genesis's voice. "What do you mean 'I don't look good'? I'm perfectly fine. Heheheh." Meghan laughed nervously and scooted to the back of her bed. She rested ner back against the wall and smiled nervously. "I suppose we're roommates now? This'll be fun."

She raised an eyebrow "If you want to be roommates that get along, best you tell the truth,dearie."

 

Genesis pondered if she was still freaked out about that place and then wondered if she should give up some of the things she learned.

Meghan closed her eyes, rested her head against the wall, and sighed. "Okay. I'm extremely nervous and scared. What would happen if I accidentally shocked someone? What would happen if I killed that person on accident? I don't think I'll be able to handle that." Meghan told her and waited to see what happened next.

Rush was late getting to lunch, having fallen asleep midway through his last class. When he finally arrived, he quickly grabbed his food and searched for Whisper, who he eventually found outside sitting with some others he recognized from all that craziness at the factory.

He walked over and sat next to Whisper. "Hey guys. What's going on?"

Tempest glanced at Whisper and Dan. "I guess I might as well spill it, not that I really knew in the first place." He said. The teen then sighed and shut down his laptop, before putting it in his bag. "My dad and uncle basically created Lyoko." He said. "I don't care if you tell the others but right now, I just need to think through this." Tempest then pinched the bridge of his nose as a searing pain shot through his head. "Damn headaches. Why won't they go away." He though to himself.

Rick looked at Amber on the screen, he snorted a little and lifted up the notebook he was reading, "probably not as bad for my health as killer computer programs. Sorry I didn't even know you were here, are you logged into the Lyoko program through the pods? What's it like in there." He didn't really pay Genesis any mind as she left; she'd do whatever she wanted and think whatever she anyways.

Dan was sort of shocked for a few moments. The family of one of his friends created the machine that trapped another of his friends. He had to admit, he got a bit angry for a second but lost it when he remembered Tempest wasn't to blame. He couldn't have known, right? "Damn." He said as he got up off of the bench and proceeded to pace back and forth. "That's some heavy shit man." He then had an idea. "Hey, is your dad still around?"

Tempest sighed, and shook his head. "That's why I moved here." He said. The teen wasn't exactly comfortable talking about the subject, especially with what he now knew, but he decided he might as well. "My parents died in a car crash a few years ago, and I moved here with my uncle and aunt." Tempest then stood up, and walked away. When he was out of sight of the others, he made a mad dash for the factory. He needed answers, and he was thankful that he didn't have any classes after lunch. "When I get the chance, I'm talking to my uncle about this."

"Well that'd be pretty cool." Genesis stated. She watched the bundle of nerves before her and chuckled "Boy, do I know the perfect match for you...". she took this rather easily; hell, she wouldn't be able to change it anyway.

Whisper blinked. Poor Tempest she thought to herself. To find one's parents had to do with something like Lyoko was shocking. Before she could comfort him though; he dashed off. Probably heading towards the factory. She smiled at Rush; placing a kiss on his cheek "Hello, I haven't seen you all day."

"Perfect match?" Meghan asked her, confused by the statement. She didn't know what Genesis meant by that unless it was about boyfriends and girlfriends. But Meghan hardly even knew Genesis. "What do you mean by that?" Meghan twirled a lock of her around a gloved finger in nervousness.

"That guy from last night. Hes really jittery too." Genesis answered. She yawned and rubbed one eye "Who was that red head you were with? Boyfriend?". She wanted Meghan to start thinking about something else so she wasn't so concentrated on her hands.

Tempest soon found himself in front of the factory, and sighed. "I don't have anything else to do today, so I might as well do this." He thought. With that, the teen entered the elevator down, and started a delayed virtualization. He didn't care about the other two teens, and went down to the chambers. He stepped in one, and a light filled the area. He found himself in a sector completely covered in ice and flew in a random direction.

Meghan thought for a bit about what Genesis had said. "Who? Dart? No way! He's like a brother to me. I don't think he thinks of me in that way anyway." Meghan said firmly. Feeling her stomach rumble, she realised that she hadn't eaten at all. "I realised I skipped out on lunch so I'm going to go and get some." Meghan said, getting off the bed and heading out the door. "See you later, Genesis." Meghan said as she closed the door behind her.

 

She made her way to the cafeteria and got a small portion of food. She wasn't that hungry. Getting her tray, Meghan walked around a bit, seeing if she could find Whisper. Eventually seeing her in the courtyard, Meghan sat down near her. "Sorry I'm late, Whisper."

"Oh its okay. But I think we may have trouble. What do you know about Tempest?" Whisper asked before sliding a donut in her mouth. She then began rummaging through her bad while waiting for Meghan to answer.

 

Genesis smiled, plopped backwards onto her mattress and promptly fell asleep.

Meghan cocked her head to the side in confusion. "Who's that?" Meghan asked in confusion. She frowned as she tried to remember who Tempest was. "Sorry. I don't know anything about a Tempest." Meghan apologised again. She bit on a bread roll and tried to figure out if she actually did know a Tempest.

He kissed Whisper back. "He was in the factory with us. Both times. I think he's actually been in that computer thing. But I don't know what to make of what he said. It's quite a coincidence, isn't it? I mean, I'm not saying he's involved in... whatever is going on, but it's possible."

Tempest sighed as he landed on the side of a glacier. "None of this makes sense." He said to himself. The teen then flew to the ground, and noticed a cave. To curious for his own good at the time, he walked in and drew his swords. He wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone, and especially not to Amber. "What would she think if I told her? She would do probably hate me." A tear slipped down Tempest's face, and he drove his swords into the wall. The resulting crack caused the entrance to collapse in on itself, sealing the cave.
