planning One Piece: Yarrr Edition

Welcome to this One Piece AU!

 

If you don't know what One Piece is, then I'm sad to say you won't have the most exciting time here. It's not IMPOSSIBLE to RP without knowing anything about the universe. But it is highly recommended that you at least know a bit.

 

I will give you a summary of this is going to be full of...

A ton of badass pirates roam the sea in search for the legendary pirate king's treasure. Gol,D Roger. Nobody knows where this treasure is located, but that doesn't stop these ponies from looking in the unnatural seas of this world. Though they aren't free to do as they please. Being pirates, they are lawless and unprivileged to roam the government lands...The government...The one thing that stops these lawless rebels. The world Government with their wast armadas of ships and seemingly endless amount of marines to support what they call justice. Often times corrupt by the power given to them, they show little mercy towards anyone who even worked with a pirate.....And I got bored of writing cx

Name: Mystic Rivet (Introduces himself as Johnathan M. Rivet, friends just call him Rivet.)

Role: Scientist and inventor. Also a pretty good mage, in a pinch.

 

Skills: Technomancy (combining technology and magic do create all sorts of cool stuff), magic, and a bit of chemistry, alchemy, and biology.

 

Gear: His goggles (Have been modified to see in many different spectrums on mental command (thermal vision, Manavision™)), his casting gloves (allow him to use magic), and any other assorted gadgets he can make.

 

AU Backstory: After having accidentally transported himself to this dimension via a botched ritual spell (he was trying to make socks that wouldn't yellow after many uses), he began to study the world's wildlife and plants. He had just discovered a delightful little thing, which the locals called "Devil Fruit". It was at this point where he was kidnapped by a group of pirates, and now attempts to continue his studies on their ship.

Name: Nord, North Light

Role:

 - Scouting at night would be good for him, as he can see in the dark fairly well... He'd also do good with playing a lyre or something to create music on board if needed - he could really set a calm mood if at night~

 - I guess he could help fighting as well, though his speciality would be defending others (as he can take a hit, and is quite big).

 

Powers/skills:

 - He is really big and heavy for a pegasus, so he'd be able to take a hit... I guess he could also use some heavy weapons, like a big blade or club if he'd get into a fight~

 - He can also draw to a degree.

 - As for a Devil Fruit (if any) I guess something related to ice or wind would fit him well. Maybe like a Fenris Wolf-fruit, or a Tempest-fruit (as mentioned: If any~). If he's to use one or not, I'll leave up to you, as I like both the idea of him having powers, and not~

 - His size could intimidate enemies and such without even starting a fight.

 - He can stay calm in most situations (unless it requires him to not be), and thus work as a diplomat, or at least analyse a situation before acting (he's a bit slow at times though)

 - He can take on extremely cold weather with ease, though he really dislikes warmer climates.

 - He can see in the dark fairly well, but his daylight vision is not all that impressive.

 - Despite his huge size, he's a fast flier, though his weight makes it too heavy to fly for long.

 

Gear:

 - A lyre, customized to make it easier to use for him in a flexible way. Also, a small drum, though he wouldn't carry this with him everywhere.

 - A really big sword or club (if he feels the need to defend himself).

 

AU Backstory:

 - He grew up on a mountainous island in the north, getting used to cold and tough weather from very early on. He spent a lot of time stargazing, and playing his tunes

Later on, he found that even though he loved his home, he wanted to feel the air at sea, and feel free, thus convincing a pirate crew to take him with them as a member of their crew.

I wouldn't mind if the captain has at least a little haki... I think the only thing you really have to do is play the captain, and also play whatever gets in our way~

Role: Captain!
Powers/skills: A pretty decent haki user. She is a great swimmer.  She is really tough, being able to take a cannonball to the face without much damage. She has a great sense of direction, and is good at telling whether or not somepony is lying to her.
Gear: A rather classic pirate hat. But surprisingly, not much else.
AU Backstory: She grew up with dreams of ambition. Learning her haki from a old stallion in her hometown, she followed her younger sister out to seas with the ambition of becoming the Pirate Queen.  She hoped to find her sister and have her join her crew, but she knew that they might end up fighting over the title eventually. She got a small sturdy ship and sailed far to recruit some strong allies. (which will be the RPers on here c: )

Role: I believe she would do a nice map-maker, or even an engineer since she likes to play with machinery and everything. Anywhere you put her, it's fine~

 

Powers/Skills: Lume is an excellent riddle-solver. She's also very keen and hard-to-trust, always being very mindful of her surroundings as to avoid getting caught by surprise. She doesn't have many fighting skills, but she can handle small weapons (like daggers and pistols) fairly well.

As for a Devil Fruit, I don't know how they're going to work within the RP yet, but I'd love to have one~ Perhaps any fruit that focuses on utility to help the rest of the crew and make her job (map-making, mechanics, etc.) a little bit easier. 

 

Gear: A pocket knife she carries with her for safety, a pair of protection goggles usually resting on the top of her head and a handbag filled with her belongings: various books and other utensils.

 

AU Backstory: Lume was born in a very small island, where she lived with her family doing mundane work, such as fishing and farming. After a huge thunderstorm destroyed her village, instead of staying to help rebuild, she decided to set off on an adventure and seek for the most precious of the treasures in the world. She would then come back to her family with enough money to move to a bigger island, with better living conditions.
