Applejack's Southern accent

First off, the four central members of the Apple family all talk Southern, though with different specific sounds (Apple Bloom sounds most like she's from the Deep South).

Braeburn and Goldie Delicious both speak Southern. Other than the Oranges, who live in an entirely different location, I can't think of anyone else in the Apple Family who got a big enough speaking role for anyone to hear their accent. I'd like if you'd give specific examples of Apple Family members speaking in different accents, other than the Oranges.

I think the variety thing is a case of an acting faux pas.

As for the Southern accent overall, I believe that this was the "easiest" way for the producers to get the VAs to sound like country-folk.  I live in Washington, and some of the "country" folk up here kind of sound like the Apple family.  I blame country music and inbreeding.   Yes, I'm kidding on that last point.

The accents are derivatives, but Applebloom has a faux Kentucky accent. East Texas for Big Mac. Granny early KY slang but I hear Oklahoma.

AJ's voice tone and pitch deepened so I gave up trying to pin her down.

From the few I could hear AJ's must be something like south-Louisiana accent, like if she came from the swamps.

That's true, there ain't no country folk in Vancouver.  :derp:

I'm from NYC but I picked up on all the Southern accents from watching a lot of NASCAR. Applejack sounds like she could be from Carolina or Kentucky, Apple Bloom sounds like she could be from Georgia, and I think Peter New just watched King of the Hill and went off of that. It would be cool to hear a Virginia or Louisiana accent on an Apple Family member, they sound so cool and mellow.

They defiently have a southern accent, however this doesn't mean all folks from the south are 'always' going to have an accent.

But then again it is kinda a bases of opinion too. For instance

In east TX the accent tends to get a bit deeper and stronger, with words more slurred like "Er gonna gitter'done arncha? = "You are going to get it done aren't you?"

Where as where I live, which is central TX, the accent is a bit more lowered down. For me example: "Hey ya'll, you ain't going to the party later?" = "Hey all of you, are you going to the party later?"

To me its just a base of opinion.

In this case I would say AJ and her primary family have a good southern accent.

I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^
