Sterling and Evening were ready. After a frantic two hours of shuffling all their clothes about in excitement and anxiety about their friend's coronation, they had their bags ready and themselves all cleaned up for the occasion! Sterling made sure with Evening that everything was ready to go and that they were set to leave, given how clumsy and forgetful Sterling could be... After everything was in order, Sterling and Evening locked the door to his house, and left. 

 

They were now rushing frantically to Canterlot, hoping to get to the train in time to do so! The train was going to leave in less than 15 minutes! Could they make it?! It was a good 10 minutes to the station by trotting! If they made it, they would have to find their train fast! Sterling beckoned Evening to keep moving forward, and she gave out a worried tone trying to calm Sterling down as they approached the station! The young couple eventually found the station. Neither of them had the time to look around for anypony else as they normally would as they made their way to the Canterlot Friendship Express.

 

They found the train just as it was about to leave, and Sterling jumped on the train just in time! He made sure to hold Evening's hoof as tightly as he could so she too could get in the train...

 

After taking a few quick pants, Sterling and Evening made their way to an empty room designated just for them. They were finally in the train... it would be an overnight ride, but they would be sure to make it to Canterlot just in time for her Coronation...

DJ smiled sheepishly at Stargazer's comment. "Heh heh... really? Well, I didn't know I was that world renowned!" DJ replied chuckling. "Just glad we did stop Raven in the end. I'd never have forgiven myself if something had happened to Ponyville. Who knows what that scheming unicorn was up to!" He frowned, before shaking it off the subject quickly. "Anyway, don't be nervous Clover! You'll do great! You're gonna be a Princess, so I know you'll be great!"

(Right! Either the thing is passing or I have just enough time, but lets hope it's the former!)

 

Evening flopped down onto one of the room's beds with a groan. It was lucky enough for them that they had gotten there just in time, though she found herself wishing they had packed early, perhaps even the night before, so the rush wasn't so.. rushed.

 

She rolled over and rested her head on her hooves, closing her eyes momentarily so she could get at least a second to attempt to sort her mind. "Maybe I could have made some wisp ponies so that we'd have a little more time and didn't have to sprint" one part said, "No, don't be ridiculous. Do you see the moon anywhere?" said another. "Yes but I've been improving my magic. I'm just able to make them during the day now"

 

"Oh shush" Evening muttered quietly to herself. She opened her eyes again and put a smile on her face. She looked over at Sterling

 

"My, that was a rush" she said louder, chuckling. "We should have packed earlier Sterling"

Sterling gave out a blush when Evening mentioned they they should have packed earlier. Sterling was so caught up with relaxing after their Northern adventure that he forgot about Clover's coronation entirely! Sterling sat on his bunker sheepishly, replying,

 

"Hey... I was so caught up with resting from our Northern excursion that I completely forgot about the coronation! You should have helped me remember!" Sterling replied teasingly as the train began to move onward towards Canterlot...

@, Clover blushed and smiled. "Thank you," she replied.

 

Stargazer said, teasingly, "Better make sure you've had enough breakfast, cuz you have to get ready for the main event soon. Now, what could that be?"

 

Clover laughed. "Yeah, I know," she said. "I just hope that I don't trip over my gown or forget my words!"

 

"You'll be fine," Morning Glory said, comfortingly.

For all the days Blue Note had spent in Canterlot, she had never seen the inside of the castle, nor had she been surrounded by so many important ponies. It was overwhelming. Thankfully, no pony had tried to engage her in any meaningful conversation. It gave her the opportunity to compose herself. She was walking with the orchestra ponies to their seats. They passed a variety of ponies that were presumably guests. Blue Note wondered what important roles they must fill. Anypony who could get invited to a coronation must be among the most important in Equestria, and certainly more important than somepony like her. The experience seemed almost surreal as she took her seat and waited for the event to start.

She be more of a day pony than me though, so she might seem a bit more awake at the moment." he said, looking around for her for a moment. "I be she might confuse the others though..." he continued.

"Ah yes, I believe you mentioned her once some time ago. Well I certainly hope to meet her at some point during the coronation. Speaking of which, why don't we head to the castle for the night so that we can enjoy our meals in the comfort of our private suites?"

Evening giggled, embarrassed Sterling was always cute Sterling. Her eyes darted around as the train began to move, with a small amount of fear in her eyes but she masked it as well she could. She turned back to her husband, pouting innocently.

 

"I'm sowe" she said in a baby voice, dragging out the last syllable. She tried to keep in character, but she couldn't resist smiling. She giggled again and rolled onto her back.

 

"So" she said "What do we do for the whole trip?" She flicked her hoof to the roof to emphasize.

Sterling didn't really like the thought of trains, mostly because there wasn't really anything to do aboard a train other than to sit around! Sterling chuckled at Evening as he lay on the top bunker, giving out a meditative look. At the moment, he really wasn't sure what to do, and didn't know what to say. So he replied with a shrug,

 

"I dunno Evie... we'll have to be here all night, and I honestly never liked the thought of trains because there isn't much to do on them! Still, it's our only method of transport really, so we have to make do" Sterling then countered the question Evening gave with a question of his own,

 

"What do YOU think we should do my dear?" Sterling asked with as cute a voice as he could make.

Evening chuckled, still staring at the roof. She scanned her mind for actives or anything else for the duo to do, and something that they would both enjoy.

 

After a minute or so of this, she grinned then turned to look at the crimson stallion. She shaped her mouth into a solid line.

 

"Hmmm." she murmured under her breath, squinting at Sterling suspiciously.

Sterling noticed Evening's chuckle from the bottom bunker. His eyes raised up slightly, wondering what Evening was up to...

 

"Oh no... Is my little Evie up to something?" Sterling replied cutely, hoping that he could get a sense of the plan that Evening was concocting at the moment.. Hopefully it wasn't too surprising, for Sterling hated getting scared from them...

"Hmmmmmm" she drawled, scrunching up her eyes even more, taking her nose along with it. Her eyes had small sparkles in them, but this time she refused to break character. She moved so she was now lying on her tummy, not taking her eyes off Sterling the whole time.

Sterling looked down at the bottom bunker where Evening looked to be lying down on her belly on purpose. Sterling scratched his head as if to show he was consued as to why Evening was doing what she was doing... Was she trying to be alluring? Was she trying to pull a prank on Sterling like the one time she placed a holographic snake on one of his potted plants? In either case, Evening looked like she was trying to invite him to something...

 

Sterling looked down towards Evening and left his upper bunker. He then moved towards Evening's lower bunk bed to try and see what she was up to...

A little smile crept it's way onto Evening's face as Sterling came towards her, falling into her trap... somewhat of a trap anyway.. even if it was a trap..

 

"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" she drawled again, the small cheeky smile now stuck planted on her lips. "A wittle bit closer deary"

Was Evening inviting Sterling to a kiss? Was Evening going to tickle him to death? Was Evening going to do something sinister just as the train began to enter a tunnel? Sterling only had one way to find out... 

 

Evening's lips were becoming so alluring for him... He just wanted to move right in, completely forgetting all sense of inhibition and looking good before Clover's coronation... He just wanted to kiss her... He didn't care whether it was a trap. He wanted to show he loved her...

Evening pressed her nose against Sterling's, scrunching her eyes a little. She stared into the stallions lovely blue eyes while smiling. She started 'hmm'ing again, this one much longer than the others. When she was out of breath, she snatched some air, then put her lips on Sterling's. 

 

Upon pulling away from the kiss, she rolled back onto her back, looked at Sterling and giggled

 

"I don't know what to do" she said in her normal soft voice "Train rides are boring."

 

(My/Evening's attempt at being cute slash flirty    My boyfriend does/did this to me whenever we don't know what to do, and is always fun :3)

Sterling pulled in for the kiss, unsure of what to expect. There was no prank after all. Evening just wanted to flirt with Sterling and to be able to kiss him... Eventually, Sterling pulled away from Evening after a long, passionate kiss that ended with a decently loud smooch. He chuckled when Evening mentioned that she was just bored on the train ride. It was still the middle of the afternoon and they had just left the dark tunnel right after the two finished their kiss. Sterling then got off Evening and looked out the train's window, marveling at the scenery... it was the only thing he could think of doing at the moment...

"Heh," Red responded, "I'm... I'm just so happy you're back and alive."

He then turned to Clover.

"Congrats," he said to her, smiling, "Bet you've been waiting a long time for this day, haven't ya?"

Right around then, a few ponies approached the three, to which Red turned to greet them

"Good morning," he said, "My name is Red Talon. And yours?"

 

(Tired... And I can't come up with a good post right now...)

The night at the train was uneventful at best. Sterling at his dinner as usual with Evening, a nice cabbage salad and his favourite. Afterwards, he went off back to his bunker bed with Evening and began to sleep... He knew the couple would arrive in Canterlot at the morning, and from there, they would head straight to the castle, where the invitation told them to come early in the morn...

 

When Sterling's eyes awoke, he heard the announcer saying that the train was a few minutes away from arriving in Canterlot. He quickly got up and packed his suitcase with the things he needed, not even thinking about taking a shower since the train was so close to Canterlot... After a few minutes of combing himself, the train arrived in Canterlot. He motioned Evening to exit the train with him and find a cab to get a move on Canterlot's famed castle...

Evening dreamt of forests, rushing past her at god speeds. The further on she went, the darker everything got: the leaves, the sky, the ground. She soon was shrouded in nothing but darkness. She could still feel herself flying forwards, futher and futher into the darkness.. There was a light at the end,a dark blue light, and even if it was so far away she plummed closer, falling towards it. Until finally she crashed into the ocean with a loud, sudden splash.

 

Evening woke up with a start, the annoucers voice woke her. She instandly sat up..

..only to bang her head into the roof/bunk above her. She groaned in pain and rubbed her head. 'Oh Celestia I'm an idiot..' She thought, standing up to prepare for the day ahead.

 

The train was close to Canterlot, very close. Evening groomed herself as her mind started to whirr.

 

In all honestly, if anything, she was afraid to go to Canterlot. After all it was her, well, kind of, her home town. Ponies she knew would be everywhere, she'd be positively surrounded, and it scared her. Being the shy little pony she was, she didn't exactly like being in crowds, and bumping into someone she knew, for her, just made everything worse.

 

'At least I have Sterling with me..' She thought 'I just have to stay close to him.'

 

The train started to slow, she looked out the window then put her brush away. She nodded to Sterling as he motioned her to exit with him. She picked up her pre-packed bag with her magic, held it close and trotted next to Sterling. She shuffled closer to him

 

"Sterling, I'm scared" she whispered to him.

Evening had just whispered to Sterling when he was about to enter Canterlot's cab to head towards the castle. He could see Evening's fear beginning to overtake her. He didn't like to see Evening scared. He wanted to show her there was nothing to fear... He asked Evening with slight concern on his fear,

 

"Evie... what are you scared about? We're going to be meeting our friends soon once we get to Canterlot!" Sterling tried his hardest to keep Evening's spirits up. It was going to be an exciting day, and Sterling didn't want Evening scared, offering to hold her hoof to enter the Canterlot cab...

Evening took the hoof with a thanking smile and got in the Canterlot cab with him

 

"Its just... Well this is my home town, in a way. I'm afraid of bumping into other ponies I know.." She said softly, her ears dropping to her side

Sterling looked back at Evening when the couple entered the cab. Sterling told the driver to head towards Canterlot Castle for Clover's Coronation and the driver began driving there post haste. Sterling then gave Evening a side hug before he replied with as much comfort as he could give,

 

"Ohh... I see... Well one thing's for sure is that if you do get to see them, that you can show off all your best friends, including me! You have great company too in Canterlot right now, and I'm sure they'll be positively surprised at all you've done."

@, "I'm Stargazer," replied the yellow pegasus mare, chirpily.

 

"And my name's Morning Glory," replied the periwinkle unicorn. "We're old friends of Clover's from Trottingham. We all got together when we were only young fillies, along with Lightning, and we broke the curse on Sunny Town and rescued Ruby."

 

"Old news," Clover replied, blushing a little.
