gaming Stupid Skyrim

So... I got a weird problem with my Steam's Skyrim game. I load it up, it does the whole "loading game" goes past the little log in thing, where you can change settings & the like, as well as where the mods would load in if you have any (if you play Skyrim on steam you will know what I am talking about), gets up to about the Bethesda part of the load up, & it just cuts. Everything shuts down, & I am left sitting back at the steam game library or whatever I was looking at when I was loading up the game. There are no errors that pop up, I have removed all mods, put everything at the lowest settings, windowed... I have done everything I can think of too get the game to load up. Anyone ever had this issue before?

 

PS I have uninstalled & reinstalled the game countless times. Currently it is uninstalled but if anyone has any ideas I have not tried I will reinstall it to attempt them

Oh by the way, I will admit I didn't look very hard for anything related to this on the forums but that was due to the very odd & very unknown nature of this crashing. This is something I cannot find an answer for in any other area I have looked so I decided to dip my hand into this in the hopes that I could find someone who would be able to find it. So sorry if this has been brought up before, any admins or mods that are reading this, as I did look but I didn't scroll through each individual thread & topic possible

Try going to the Skyrim folder in that Games folder. You know, where you store you save files. Try deleting that, then go to the Skyrim folder in the Steam folder itself, and delete that aswell. Now try to install the game again, same thing happened to me, so it might be the same solution

Hmmm,ive actually heard of this before and i swear there was a youtube vid that had a solution(or maybe it was a lets play)..

 

Have you updated you're drivers anytime lately or?(i honestly don't know if this is a helpful question but its what my tech savy friend usually asks me 1st  )

Alright I am doing the reinstallation, but it might take awhile. Skyrim is a big game after all, & my laptop is quite full. I would clear it but I am waiting for money for a new comp before I do so.

I have not done any manual updates, but it is possible any automatic ones might have... Quite uncommon though, as usually I just do Windows updates & that is that

It is about 60% done, I will reply back on here once it gets done & I have attempted to play it again. I have one other idea, similar to Bradley's. Basically it is just deleting all the files while the game is installed & playable in my library. I did it before with other games, might work here

Thanks Bradley, your suggestion worked like a charm! I have been missing playing Skyrim for so long, this will be a great change of pace from my usual shooters & MOBAs!
