 "Thank you dear. It's wonderful to see how open you are." Oh thank goodness, Eloquence thought to herself. She didn't need to coerce or nudge this pony at all. She just opened right up, and was quite an enjoyable pony to talk to. "Tell me more about what King Sombra was like before he took the throne. What was his role in the Empire, how did he behave, and what made you think he might not be what he seemed?"

"Polititions are never what they seem. Sombre was no different. he came in promising peace love and oddly enough free chrystal burgers" she made a confused face not understanding quite how that worked to get him elected to 3rd in command "he seemed kind enough but put a unicorn in power or really any pony other than an alicorn and you've got trouble.it was the same with Sombre of course as soon as he was 3rd in command he stoped saying peace and love in his speaches. he said we should be at war with all the rest of Equestria. of course that didn't go well with the princess."

Spirit Watcher chuckled lightly, and realized he lost her scent. So she spoke, from nowhere "Lost my scent did you? So you decided toget me to com eout by yelling to offer me food? C'mon. Try harder." And then she spoke in Gloomfury's right ear "Oh, and I might have to take you up on that Cheesecake." She said as she appeared in front of Gloomfury. "I'll make it easier for you. This time you can actually see me, so my scent is stronger. Easier? I thought so." She said as she took off flying and landed in a secret location on the other side of town.

Gloom smiled when she came back. As soon  as she flew off he ran after her following her sent. He didn't let up on the speed either. As he got closer to her and the sent got stronger, he picked up the pace. It didn't take long for him to find her near a park. When he saw her he slowed down and walked up to her still with the smile. "You know, I didn't get your name."

Pinkie looked at AppleJack and smiled,"hey I have to go to the park for a walk around ponyville gotta spread my happiness."She said cheerfully as she bounced out of SugarCubeCorner.Pinkie bounced into the park happily looking around for ponies to cheer up.She thought she heard a fimilar voice so she bounced a little farther.

She nodded, suppressing the urge to arch an eyebrow at her comment about unicorns. She knew by now not to get political with anyone she interviewed, at least not in ways that weren't necessary. "The princess, you say. Are you referring to Celestia, or somepony else?"

Spirit Watcher smiled and turned to face Gloomfury "My names Spirit Watcher." She said as she chuckled lightly. "You can call me Spirit, though. And I can see you have an interest in me, and you're not too bad yourself. But I got one more place I gotta go, then we can actually talk." She said as she took off yet again.

 Gloom sighed and rolled his eyes but he kept his smile. "I really hope you're worth the chase, lass." He called to her as he followed her scent again. He e didn't run as fast as last time but he kept up with her. And for some reason he thought chasing her was kinda worth it in a way.

Spirit Watcher landed at an undisclosed location and then flew to the library. She landed inside and waited for a few seconds. She grabbed a couple books, sat down, and read a few chapters "So. What do you want to talk about?" She said as she closed the first book.

Gloom walked into the library a bit after she did. He walked over to where she was and sat in front of her. "To be honest... I don't really know. You just interest me. It ain't ever day I meet a stunning pure white mare who can completely disappear. It's like you vanished from this world to another. Are you a angel or something? Did the saints, gods or whatever sent you here to keep an eye on me?"

Spirit Watcher smiled. "Ah... no. I'm a Spirit Pegasus. Very rare breed of Pegasi that have the ability to swap from the spirit world to the real world whenever they want. They have a life job of watching and guarding spirits cross to wherever they need to go. Spirit Pegasi are also generally fast flyers, but I'm the third fastest flyer in the Universe. I've raced in the Universal Grand Prix, so I do actually know my position." She smiled as she pulled out a pony species book, flipped to the Spirit Pegasi chapter, and tossed it to Gloomfury.

"Huh, interesting. So you kinda are like an angle." He took the book and read though it. "If you're one the fastest flyer in the Universe then that means you can at least go fast enough to brake the sound barrier times a good bit. But I doubt that there's anyone who will ever go faster then light. And if someone tried they would die for sure. But it would be something to see. Who doesn't like a good crash at an air show?"

Spirit Watcher looked at Gloomfury with a serious face. "I can fly faster than light. But not much faster. But I haven't flown that fast in a few years, mainly because there's a high chance that you get teleported to a random alternate dismension when you go faster than the speed of light. But I do know the fastest flyer, and he doesn't ever fly that fast except in races. Every other time he wants to go to alternate dimensions he just uses his magic..." A smirk is now on her face...

"Huh," He shrugs. "Well I guess a normal Pegasus would most likely die. With you being a Spirit Pegasus, something like that would't be that hard. And going to and from a alternate dimension is a pain in the ass when you don't have magic. A friend of mine who was studying magic for dimensional travel sent me to one, It was weird. It was dimension where there was no magic, there where only earth ponies, they had to rely on technology for most things. Like there where self moving carriages that they called cars and they also had things like air ships an other neat stuff. But my friend pulled my back to this dimension before I could think about staying. Real pity too. I was gonna take one of those air ships and give being a 'sky' pirate a whirl."

Chrystal was surprised "Oh you didn't know?" she paused "Before princess Twilight there was another princess, a chrystal princess. she ruled over the chrystal empire. her name was Ai. i can't belive they took her out of history books." Chrystal thought for a moment then said, "But Sombre murdered her. at least we assume so. no one has found her body. in fact she may be in the dungeon"

"There were rumors of a crystal princess. She's become somewhat of a figure of legend, much like Nightmare Moon, both in mysterious nature and in turning out to be true. Ponies tend to all remember her a bit differently, and after 1000 years under Sombra separating fact from fiction is a none-too-simple task. Do tell me about princess Ai though. Everything you remember." she gently encouraged. Anything on the lost crystal princess of legend would be amazing, to say the least.

"Ok. Princess Ai, like Princess Celestia, usually she didn't talk to ponies much but I remember she was always smiling unless something dire came up. She was a lavender Alicorn with light pink hair. You could see her from a mile away she was so bright. The castle doesn't shine the same without her." Chrystal said

Eloquence gave a gentle smile. "She sounds like a truly amazing pony. I imagine you all must feel a great loss without her, one that I am deeply sorry for. If you don't mind, would you tell me more about her duties as your princess, and her special talents? Perhaps you remember her cutie mark to some extent?"

"Ah yes her cutie mark was a magenta heart with a golden crown on it." Chrystal paused to sip her hay smoothie "Princess Ai's dutys were to govern the Chrystal empire and if you had a problem with your neighbour you took it to her. Her love always solved problems." Another sip " but even after she was gone, we all still felt her presence somehow guilding us. I feel certain more than ever now that she is still there under the castle, in the dungeon" Cheystal looked like she could have gone to find her right then and there.

Pinkie bounded happily through the park and started to pick some blueberries from a bush.She smiled,"These will be great for our blueberry muffins."She picked a few more and bounced back to Sugar Cube Corner.She smiled as she came through the double door.

"Hmm.." Eloquence mused over this information, copying words and jotting notes. She levitated her cupcake to her mouth for another bite mid-writing, a skill she was grateful to have learned from Twilight. What did she do before magical multitasking?

 

"She has some similarities to your current princess, doesn't she?" she noted, looking up to catch Chrystal's reaction to the comparison. "Is there anything more you could tell me about this dungeon? It sounds quite mysterious, and by your account unexplored for some reason."

"I've never been there, all I know about it is from a crazy old stallion who escaped from it.personally I figure the only way to find out is to go there ourselves. As to Princess Cadence, yes I suppose she is similar but she was there before Ai went missing."

Eloquence looked up at this, furrowing her brow, tilting her head, and twitching her ears. "She was there? As in, Princess Cadence and Princess Ai were in the Crystal kingdom at the same time? How could that be?" The kingdom was gone for 1000 years, and Cadence wasn't nearly that old, at least to her knowledge.

"Cadence lived in canterlot at that point in time. not in the Chrystal empire." Chrystal explained "she went there after it came back. Alicorns never look their age"she said for clairification. "she looked exactly like she does now when i first saw her."
