I used to be a stranger 7,994 July 2, 2014 Share July 2, 2014 And exactly how much proof do you need? I really don't think we need to see them have to use the bathroom again. Lol. Although it was funny in that episode, it's insignificant and irrelevant to the show's points. People really take this show too seriously. I know. This is how I feel about people who try to take into consideration pony's mortality, Equestria's government, real-world physics if they want a space program and other such things.

Yeah, this is the first show I've ever seen people asking how often it's characters use the bathroom

AlbaTross 1,586 July 2, 2014 Share July 2, 2014 Ummm...no, they aren't, except maybe unicorns. They use their hoofs to walk, and I never see them wash their hands. It's almost a good thing they don't need their hooves to eat. Of course, they use their mouths to pick up all sorts of things, so...yeah...no. They don't typically wear horse shoes, and they eat daffodil sandwiches, which are supposed to be poisonous to ponies. Quite frankly, I'm surprised all of Equestria isn't constantly plagued by disease. This was actually one of the initial objections I had to the show when I first started watching it. I haven't thought about it in a long time though.

silvadel 1,393 July 3, 2014 Share July 3, 2014 Actually, if you saw what passed for hygiene back in say 1900 you would be shocked. Things like not drinking from the same cup etc. , and water that isn't brown, are very modern changes to society. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight. Frith is Magick 1,471 July 3, 2014 Share July 3, 2014 It's Equestria. There's no such thing as germs there. Come to think of it, that means that the answer to all the hypothetical threads about what would happen if the ponies were transported to our world is that they would die instantly when exposed to our germs a la War of the Worlds. Not necessarily. They have hospitals and medical personnel, implying that they are in fact subject to disease. Ummm...no, they aren't, except maybe unicorns. Picking up objects in their mouths wouldn't be a huge issue, in fact, it would probably be healthy for them to an extent. It would expose them to small amounts of local bacteria, helping them build up their immune systems without risking serious health repercussions. Besides, horses in real life are quite tough (hence why they're used to produce antivenin), and it stands to reason that Ponies would inherit this to an extent, making them able to expose themselves to more sources of disease than humans. Are Ponies hygienic? Yes, but by their own standards, not ours. Keep flyin'
