Shining Armor and Cadance's Magic Colors

Most ponies have a magic color that is the same as their eye color.  In fact there are VERY few ponies that break this rule.  However Cadance has the magic color of Shining Armor's eyes, and Shining Armor has the magic color of Cadance's eyes.  Both VERY far from the color their magic should be.

 

I am wondering if at some point their magics were swapped.

Well, since they are married, and Cadance is the princess of love their magic would have switched colors, or they could have been cosmically destined to marry, and as such had the magical aura color of their future soul mate.

Actually only dark magic seems to be, well, dark.  And that is cast by an alicorn or a unicorn.

I don't think so because Shining Armor already had this magic color when he was young.

They could be cosmically arranged to be married. They were destined from the very start to be wed, and to rule as a lovers pair.

I'd always thought that Shining Armor's magic aura was meant to be the same as Twilight's, since they're siblings and all.

 

Although matching Cadance's eye colour could also be the reason. Then again, it could just be a coincidence.

Maybe that explains why they changed Twilight's color magic in the season 2?

Even though the majority of unicorn's/alicorn's magic colour are the same as their eyes, there are some cases where it's the same colour as their cutie mark.

 

 

If you look at Cadance's magic and her cutie mark, you can see they're obviously the same colour. Same goes for some other ponies like Twilight Sparkle or Princess Celestia. I don't believe there was a time where Shining Amror and Princess Cadance's magic was swapped.

Considering the way Rarity's magic aura also got the same upgrade in Season 2, I doubt that was the specific reason.

 

Here's "Winter Wrap Up":

Not only is Rarity's magic white, but the aura surrounding the object she is moving is pink.

Then later in the season, "A Dog and Pony Show" shows her horn and the moving object with a blue aura:

Then in "Lesson Zero":

The blue colour is much darker, and the aura itself is much more well defined.

 

As near as I can figure it, it was pretty random until they decided to give magic a visual update in the second Season.
