Luke shrugged. "I don't know. I don't usually sleep here myself. You can take any of the couches, or I'm sure there are spare beds around here somewhere." He looked over to Highlander, who seemed to be off in his own world. "I think we lost him. You'll have to find rooms for yourself."

 

 

Victor shrugged. "I've been in labs or casinos for most of my life. My power is good for that. But the ways they test it range from boring to stupid. Sometimes they'd just throw things at me to see if they could hit. God forbid they ever come up with anything better. Casinos are fun sometimes, until they decide you're bad for business. Honestly, I've never really had much free reign to do what I wanted until now. It feels... nice. Not having a strict itinerary for every day while they try to mimic my power with computers."

((I'm really hoping it's not too late to keep this from dying. I'm actually going to go ahead and move to the next morning so we can finally start the first real "episode", as it were. Assuming any of you are still interested.))

 

Victor woke up early as usual, though a bit later than he was used to. It was nice to actually have the chance to sleep in for once, even if he hardly did. The previous night had ended quite pleasantly, with him and Rikku talking over pizza until eventually they went their separate ways for the night. Of course, he wouldn't have exactly minded if they'd ended up in the same bed instead, but it probably wasn't a good idea to do anything like that so soon. Remembering what Highlander had said the night before, he quickly got dressed and prepared to head out, deciding to wait for Rikku before he actually left. 

 

 

At the headquarters in Ransen Appartments, Luke Giles was already awake and making breakfast before anyone else was awake. Highlander never ate breakfast, and was usually shut away in his bedroom for pretty much the entire morning, but today they had guests, so somebody had to take care of them. Many of the other Heroes would likely arrive in the next few hours, and likely the new recruits, as well.

 

 

On the morning news, there was a report of yet another in a recent string of bizarre robberies where all signs seemed to indicate that the robber had simply walked in, stolen everything, and walked out again without any sort of resistance. Strangely, although many of these robberies had taken place during the day, victims often said they were asleep at the time.

Nico ended up sleeping in a vacant apartment in the building. He had led Tora to the apartment and was glad that it was a two bedroom one. He yawned and stretched and gazed at the ceiling, hearing all sorts of weird chatter in his head over the phone lines. There was a few groups of chattering in particular he was interested in so he ignored the other signals in his head to hear that there has been a string of robberies with each victim falling asleep.

It was early morning and Zen could be found high above the city, meditating in a cross-legged position. He spent the better part of the night getting rid of excess energy by firing it, in the form of a beam of energy, into space. Once he noticed the sun peak over the horizon, he decided to head on back. "'I wonder if anything exciting happened?' he thought as he rapidly descended. soon enough, he reached Rose's place and knocked on the door, waiting for either Rose or Louise to answer.

@, Louise answered the door; Rose was currently making breakfast. Louise's face was flushed with excitement as she motioned Zen inside.

 

"You're not going to believe what happened last night!" she said, excitedly. "These two metas came to try and force Rose out of the house, so I dealt with them and my powers... they're enhanced! I can affect other people's bones if I touch them! Anyway, I soon sent the metas packing and Rose is really grateful. She's making us a cooked breakfast to say thank you, right now."

"Wait, are you okay?!" Zen asked,raising his voice a bit out of worry. 'Dammit, I should've been here.' he thought to himself, 'Why must I be constantly reminded of why I hate my powers' He looked at Louise, studying her for a few moments, "You look ok, but I could be wrong."

@, "I'm fine, honestly," Louise said, and she wasn't lying. She felt radiant and full of power. It felt as tho she was fully appreciating her powers for the first time in her life. "I told them not to come back, but if any other metas try to push Rose about, you can help me get rid of them."

Tora slept soundly, a pillow covering her face to help muffle the snores.

 

Rikku had gotten up early for a jog around the coastline. She came back before Victor had woken up and took a shower. Rikku met him at the door with recently dried hair and smiled "Morning, are you excited to go? I am a little nervous."

A loud knock came sounded on the door of Tora and Nico's appartment. The familiar voice of Luke Giles called to them. "Rise and shine! Breakfast is ready and the others will probably start to show up soon.

 

 

Victor nodded. "Excited, nervous, curious- I'm not sure what to feel. But I think it'll be interesting, if nothing else. And by the way, you look way better than anyone has the right to this early in the morning." He led her out the door and down onto the ground level, holding the door for her as they exited the building.

"We'll be right there!" Nico called back. Getting up with a groan, Nico walked out of his room and into Tora's. He made a mental note of ignoring the constant, robotic chatter in his head and to deal with it later. He took the pillow off of her face and was met with a barrage of snores. Chuckling to himself, he looked at her  face and decided to hold her nose with two fingers in an effort to get her to wake up.

 "...Alright." Zen said, accepting that she was unharmed. "We should probably hurry though. I'm kinda curious as to what they might have us do over at the hero HQ." He peeked over Louise's shoulder and saw Rose walk by, "Morning Rose."

At Ransen appartments, most of the Heroes from the previous night had shown up, as well as a few others. The prospect of training new recruits was always an interesting one, and even of those who weren't particularly interested to show up there were quite a few who were obligated to come help in one way or another.

@@Alex Kennedy, @, After breakfast, Louise accompanied Zen to the Heroes Headquarters. The battle last night had sharpened her senses and she was eager for a new challenge, especially if it meant that she could try out the new powers that she unexpectedly now had.

The pair were greeted at the door by a recently awoken Highlader, still as worryingly enthusiastic as ever. "Ah! I see the first of the new recruits have arrived. It's good to see you didn't have second thoughts. I look forward to seeing you become great Heroes." He turned and led them inside, where they were once again greeted by the music queue

Barely on the edge of their hearing, Highlander quietly recited a few more words, almost as if to reassure himself. "Here we belong, fighting for survival..."

My first day not being too long and already finishing my lab report ment that I had plenty of free time so I opted to walk around, a little before going to the apartment, not to mention I could use something to distract me for a while.

Gale sighed as she walked trough tne city. She was tired from getting the shot, but she knew that it would've been a common side effect. The teen then noticed Shadow and smiled, forgetting about her previous exhaustion. "Hey, Shadow. How are you?" She asked as she walked up to her boyfriend.

Zen heard the tone as they walked in as well as Highlander muttering something, but decided to ignore that. "Does that come on every time someone walks in here?" He asked, looking around for where the tune came from, then seeing speakers near the ceiling, "That would kind of get annoying when I think about it."

If Highlander had heard Zen, he gave no sign of it. He simply continued to lead them in and gestured for them to sit down. "I believe my good friend Luke has just finished making breakfast, and you're free to help yourselves to it if you like. Anyway, since you two are the first to arrive, I'll leave it up to you whether you want to start training now or wait for the others. I'm afraid I have other things I need to see to and won't be able to train you myself- at least not yet- but my comrades here should be more than capable of taking my place.  You can either wait for the others and train as a larger group, or begin training now with just the two of you. Which will it be?"

@,  I heard Gale speak and looked up with a smile, "I'm doing quite well actually, I filed some forensic reports and was able to leave, but nothing overly exciting so far." So how has your day went so far?" I asked just as curious about her day as she was with my own.

Rikku smiled and placed a soft kiss on Victors cheek "Thank you." They walked off into the elevator to start thier way to Ransen. She was trembling with nervousness.

 

Tora flailed and rolled off the bed, taking the sheets with her. "I don't wanna get up yet." She complained from the floor.

Nico laughed as he watched Tora flail and fall to the floor. "Too late, you're already up. Besides, Luke said that breakfast was ready and I think a few of the others from the night before a in the basement." Nico said, hearing the speakers sing out the anthem. He tried to close the signal and managed to do so for a few sconds but it opened again. "Want help up?" Nico asked, reaching a hand out to help her.

"Ugh...just drag me into the shower and turn the cold water on..." she poked up her hand and grabbed his. She tried her best to climb over the mattress but was far too sleepy to really have a hold on it, so she slipped back down to the floor, still holding on to Nicos hand.

"Drag you into the shower ... okay ... come on." Nico said and grunted with the effort of dragging Tora's basically lifeless body to the shower. After dragging her into the shower, he noticed that the sheets came alomg for the ride. He untangled the sheets from around Tora and placed them back on Tora's bed. "You wanted cold water, not me." Nico sighed and turned the tap for the cold water on full blast.

@@Alex Kennedy, @, Louise shrugged. "I'd sooner just be trained with Zen, if that's alright with you, Zen," she said, glancing at her friend. "you see, I remember how it was in school. I don't believe it's possible for a teacher to give as much teaching and expertese to a large group all possessing different skills and at different levels of power, than to just one or two people together."

Gale nodded slightly. "Aside from testing out that shot, nothing much really. They weren't lying when they said it could enhance my powers, though." She said. "I feel a bit stronger, if anything." The teen didn't exactly want to tell Shadow about what had happened after, though. About how she basically threw a man made of metal through a wall with her mind or looked like it at the least.
