In a blur of movement, Seer grabbed Zen by his incoming fist and, with his other hand grabbing him by the collar, whirled the two of them around, placing Zen between himself and the bone needles and effectively using him as a human shield. After the needles hit he shoved Zen forward. "Again."

 

((Unfortunately, attacking him from behind is pretty much pointless. It has to do with his powers. You can still ask him any questions if you want.))

@, I chuckled, "To the couch then" I walk a few feet to the couch and gently let her down. I sit down next to her wanting to relax for a minute before cooking dinner for the both of us. I was thinking some spaghetti it was quick simple, and hard to get wrong. "That better Gale?" I did not actually know why i asked such a stupid question, but I just went with it.

Zen yelled out when the needles hit. "Dammit!" he looked down at the needles sticking out of his body, "That's painful." He didn't waste much time pulling the spikes out of his body. Once they were all out, he faced the Seer again, this time moving beside Louise. "Ok, any ideas that don't involve me becoming a pincushion?"

Gale nodded slightly and smiled. "Thanks, Shadow. I don't know where I would be without you." She said. The teen then gave her boyfriend a peck on the cheek, mentally slapping herself as she leaned back and began to relax. "By the way, I have no preference when it comes to what's for dinner."

I replied 'probably be better off to, I killed my last girlfriend in a fit of insanity caused by my abilities.'  "Anyway, I decided to make spaghetti tonight so I'll be done in about twenty minutes." I continued to smile and gave her a small peck on the cheek in return. I then left to cook.

@, "If you could distract him so I can get close enough to touch him, that could work," Louise said. She meant to use her new powers on Seer, tho she doubted that she could do anything too damaging. Something about that made her skin prickle. It was fair enough to break the legs of the thug who'd tried to take Rose's home, but not to someone meant to be training them.

Seer had moved to the other side of the room and was making a point of not listening to them out of courtesy as much as anything. After Louise finished speaking, he took a few steps back towards them. "Are you done planning yet? Your ideas are meaningless unless you act on them."

Tora went with Nico to meet thier teacher for the day, yawning and stretching all the way.

 

Rikku waited patiently with Victor, examining the grandeur of the building. She promised herself if she became rich, she would live modestly. She couldn't figure out what most of these things were for, or why so fancy.

As they were waiting, Victor semiconsciously reached over and took Rikku's hand in his own. It was unusual for him to be nervous, and the act brought him comfort.

 

 

When Tora and Nico finally came out, Luke was still there waiting for them. "Ah, you're finally here. I think it might be too late for breakfast, unfortunately. The others are already here, and Highlander will want us to get started. But I'll see if I can sneak something into the training room. It's no good, working on an empty stomach."

 

He led them back down to the main room of the Union headquarters and consulted Highlander. "Do you want me to take the other two as well? I don't mind." Highlander shrugged. "If they want to, then very well. Koenig seems to be running late anyway."

 

Giles turned to Rikku and Victor. "Well, what's it going to be? Do you want to come with me? I promise I'll go easier on you than most of these other guys would."

 

 

Victor shrugged. "Rikku, it's up to you. I don't really care either way."

 

((I really don't care, honestly. It would probably be easier to have you go with them, but it's fine either way.))

Tora didn't really have much of an appetite, it was one of her off days, where everything about her was slow. But it was heavier than usual...but she chalked that up to the drug.

Gale blushed slightly and shrugged. "Ok. I actually prefer Italian over most other types of food." She said. "I guess it's a acquired taste from where I lived in Russia." The teen knew that she had to get over this powe before she hurt someone, but that could wait.

I smirked sure to keep it hidden, while doing a mental fist pump at my small victory. I went back to work and about twenty minutes later I finished and got out some bowls and forks out that I got earlier. "Enjoy, Gale" I promptly handed her a bowl of the pasta.

Victor looked over at Tora in surprise when she spoke. He hadn't recognized the previously hyper-active girl in such a sluggish state. One hand still squeezing Rikku's, he waved with the other. "Hey there. I didn't recognize you at first. My name is Victor, if I didn't already tell you that. And you're... I believe you said your name was Tara, or something like that?" He gestured to the woman next to him. "This is Rikku. I'm not sure if you guys met earlier or not. And... I'm sorry, your friend there looks familiar but I can't remember his name."

 

As they were talking, Luke led them through the doors at the back of the room and down a short staircase. At the end of a long hallway he stopped opened a door, gesturing for them to enter while still waiting patiently for them to finish introductions.

Nico yanwed and covered his mouth with his hand. "Sorry. Been trying to stay awake for a few hours. My name's Nico. I think I saw the both of you on the boat." Nico said adter the yawn. He stretched and felt his shoulders pop into place. "I'm the one that kept messing with technology."

Zen looked at the Seer trying to spot any flaw he could exploit but found none, which really is saying something. "Okay, I'm gonna wing it so if you see an opening, take it." He said to Louise as he charged forward yet again, this time, choosing to use his powers, as much as he didn't like to. His hand came alight with energy as he swung at the Seer again.

As Zen approached, Seer stood firm, his arms crossed and feet planted on the ground. When the blow came, he simply wasn't there anymore. His feet, his entire lower body, in fact, had remained stationary, but with a single quick bend of his waist he had swayed backwards out of the way, and now stood, firm and indifferent as ever, awaiting the next move.

@@Alex Kennedy, @, Louise stood to the side, feinting to try and hide what she planned to do. She figured that if this didn't work, she wasn't going to bother with this charade any more. After all, why would someone ask to be attacked unless he was damn sure that he wasn't going to be hurt?

Rikku flustered and turned crimson, luckily it wasn't as noticable due to her tan skin. She coughed "Pleasure to meet you too, Tora. And you too, Nico. I'm sorry that i didn't meet you on the boat. "

Seer was vaguely aware of Louise's movements, but for some reason did nothing. He merely waited and observed. Dodging their attacks all day wasn't going to get them anywhere anyway.

Victor chuckled. "If I were married to a woman like Rikku I really would be Mr. Lucky! But no, we just... live together." He paused for a minute. "Okay, that actually probably sounds like.... but we aren't... we sleep in separate beds. Separate rooms, even. We just share an appartment. And we... might be dating. Maybe. We'll see what happens. What about you and Nico? What's going on there?"

Nico gave a small smile at Victor's stuttering. He coughed slightly and looked at him. "Sure you sleep in seperate rooms. You want to know about us? We're in the same situation as you only without the dating. I think. Anyway, it's more about what Tora wants anyway." Nico said nervously and looked over at look who seemed to be patiently waiting for them to go in. "I think Luke's waiting for us to head in." Nico said and promptly walked past Luke into the room, giving him an apologetic smile as he did.

Tora leaned over and whispered "I don't think he likes me very much. I know I'm annoying...and I'm not good with boys so he makes me nervous. But Nico is pretty cool." She stretched and smiled at Giles "Ready to go."

 

Rikku smirked at the younger girl, refreshed by how open and friendly she was. But at the moment she couldn't bring herself to look at Victor. Why was she embarrassed?

Victor walked into the room to find a wide open space divided into two parts. Half of it looked like some kind of sparring ring or something, and the other half looked like some kind of indoor meditation garden or something. He couldn't help but notice Rikku seemed... disturbed, perhaps? Well, he would just let it sit for now. Perhaps it was best if he let her be.

 

Luke smiled as they entered. "I don't know what you were expecting, but here we are. This is sort of a private sanctuary for me. I'm going to teach you guys to master your powers, of course, but not the same way the others might. You don't get better with your powers just by using them all the time. You focus, think on them, come to understand them better, that's how you really master them. At least, that's what I think. I've already heard about your powers, and I believe you're all going to be well-suited to my approach. But I'll try to spend at least a little bit of time with each of you individually as well as training you as a group. Do you guys want to ask me anything before we get started with our first exercises?"

"What the hell?!" Zen asked as he looked back at the Seer, a bit frustrated. He decided to change tactics since he decided there was no way to catch Seer, not the way he moved. "Try this then." He formed Balls of energy in his hands, not a particularly deadly kind of energy, but it would hurt. He then fired them at the Seer, constantly creating more as soon as they were thrown.

Nico shook his head and gazed in wonderment around the room. "Nope. No questions here. Your methods are different compared to other teachers. It's a nice change of pace, to be completely honest." Nico said with conviction to Luke. He just wondered how meditation would work with him. It will probably help to block off the electronic signals he kept getting in his head. Stretching his arms over his head, he asked, "When do we get started?"

Gale blushed as she took the bowl and began to eat. She enjoyed the texture of the pasta and the flavor of the sauce. "You aren't to bad of a cook." She said, feeling a bit better know that she was able to get something into her stomach. "This is probably the best meal I've had since I left Russia." A few old memories of the teen's old life drifted through her head and she sighed in delight. She0 knew that nothing would be the same, but then again, she was liking her new one so far.
