"Right. Well." Tora cracked her back and stretched "Time to clean this gunk out. We could probably find some free furniture on Craigslist and stuff. So this place will be looking like home in no time!"

I pulled Gale closer to me, as I brushed my hand through her hair. I felt great, like my life could be made better and my darkness set aside.

Gale being next to me, calmed me down and sent my heart pumping her touch double my heartbeat.

 

I knew it was because she was beautiful and my body was responding, but part of me hoped that it would become more then just physical attraction. The darker part of me just reminded me my past, whispering ol the price I would have to pay to keep her alive and safe from me. To be honest I would gladly pay the price.

Gale hummed as she felt Shadow's hand brush through her hair and blushed. She felt excited for what could become of their relationship and knew that there was very little that could possibly ruin it. She just hoped that the serum that would be injected into her body tomorrow wouldn't have any drastic side effects when it came to the enhancement of electrokinesis.

"Craigslist? That a discount website or something, sheila?" Nico asked and scratched his head in confusion. He looked around the massive space and wondered how this could become a home. "Never heard of Craigslist before." Nico clarified and felt relief as the white noise in his head suddenly stopped to be replaced by a single signal that happened to be nearby.

"Yeah...kinda like that I guess. I'm gonna start cleaning up and since you're the tech dude, just hit the web for some free stuff." Tora hopped over to a pile and began shifting things around, keeping whatever she found intresting.

"Damn girl did I ever say how cute you look while blushing, and when I think you look your best you always seem to surprise me. Never where makeup your too beautiful to need it." I said without thinking and only later realizing what I said, but I was not lying or just trying to flatter her. That much I did know. I blamed my actions on hormones and her looks.

Gale smiled and blushed slightly. She never knew that Shadow had these feeling for her, well she did but wasn't exactly sure if they were real. "Thanks, Shadow. You aren't to bad yourself." She said, feeling a warm heat spread through her body. She wasn't sure what this was, but she had a suspicion that it was happiness and feeling love for the first time in years.

I smiled, I repositioned my arms to wrap around Gale's belly and gave her a small kiss on her cheek returning the gesture from earlier at the theater. With Gale so close to me I could feel the heat in her body along with the beating of her heart, and her breathing coming in and out of her rising and falling chest, noticing what I was doing I blushed and averted my gaze.

Gale giggled slightly and smiled. "You do realize that we're dating, right?" She asked in a somewhat sly tone. "It's ok to look. You just can't touch, at least not yet." The teen then slowly fell asleep within Shadows' arms. The night had taken it's toll on her and she needed the sleep.

I put on a playful false frown while trying not to blush at what she just said, its not like a guy gets permission from their girlfriend to to look at their chest like that. I just enjoyed Gale sleeping in my arms her breathing gentle and steady I fall asleep soon after.

"Okay. You clean up while I surf the web. That sounds .... reasonable." Nico muttered and wondered how he could access te internet. Leaning on a wall and pulling out his smartphone, he figured it was the next best thing to a computer. "What do you want me to search up? Beds? Couches?" Nico called out to Tora.

Victor sighed and nodded. "Alright. I'll see you later. I promise next time things won't be so awkward. And whatever happens, remember that you have a home here. This place would just be sad and empty if I had to live here by myself." He gave her a rather sad smile before turning and heading back into the apartment. It looked like he was going to be by himself tonight.

Tora nodded"Yeah, whatever good stuff you find. Anything you like".

 

She grunted as she moved some crates, and then after a long silence, she turned into a bear. This time, she had a pretty good handle on it, so she felt. So the bear continued moving and stacking crates as Nico searched.

@, Louise smiled at Zen. "Yeah, I'm starving," she said. "Might be a side affect from those injections I had; the doctor did mention that increased appetite might be a factor. Still, could be worse. I suppose I'm lucky in that my power doesn't really affect anyone else around me."

He then spotted a real hole in the wall restaurant, but everyone knows places like that always have the best food. "Hey that place looks like it could be good." He said pointing at the place.

((Welp, it's time. Sorry for those of you who had more they wanted to do first.))

 

Suddenly the relative quiet of the night was broken by an enormous crash, followed by an explosion, and what appeared to be a ball of fire shooting straight up into the air before arcing and coming crashing back down nearby. While not quite as loud, other such noises continued to come from the same area. Most people who'd lived in the city for any length of time would know better than to get involved, anyone who wasn't used to life there would likely be drawn to it.

 

Victor, as it happens, was a perfect example of this, as he'd been gazing vacantly through the window wondering what to do with himself. Not knowing what was going on, but faithful in the powers of deterministic chaos that protected him, he hurried out of the building and towards the explosion.

After searching up different sorts of deals for furniture on his phone, he "What the hell was that?" Nico wondered out loud as he heard an explosion not far off. He got up from the floor and wandered over to Tora. "Hey Tora, did you hear that? Most likely you did but do you want to check out whatever that was?" Nico asked her. If she said no, then he'd check it out by himself. It would be better if she came with him but it didn't really mater either way.

Rikku watched as the fire exploded into the sky. "Meu deus..." she gasped. It didn't take long for her to decide on going to investigate, there must be people injured or in need of help.

 

"Yeah, let's go find out!" Tora agreed as she morphed back into her human state. She sprinted out the warehouse, keeping a pace that Nico could match. She followed the scent of burning wood and the pillar of smoke in the sky.

I woke up from the sound, being a light sleeper mostly due to the nature of my powers. I decided to get up and check it out. I created a one handed sword and a combat knife along with their respective sheaths, attaching the sword to my hip and the knife upside down to my chest. During this I was careful to not wake her up.

Gale woke up when the initial blast hit and noticed that Shadow was already up and preparing to head out. The teen silently left the bed, opened one of the windows in a adjacent room, and flew towards where the disturbance had originated. She soon found herself landing near one of the craters and felt weird being here. "What could've caused this?" She thought

Victor arrived at the seen of the initial explosion, and when the smoke cleared, there was a body lying in crater. Except, not dead, or even badly burned as you might expect. Merely unconscious, like they had a cartoon character's resistance to injury. There were still more chaotic sounds in the distance, but Victor decided the body merited investigation. By the time he had reached the edge of the crater the man in the center was already getting up again. Save for some damage to his clothes, he seemed to be perfectly fine. He looked up at Victor for a moment but said nothing and ran off toward the ongoing commotion. Victor, not about to give up at this point, hurried after him, and before long found himself at the edge of a huge fight, a stray piece of debris conveniently landing behind him after missing decapitating him by about half an inch- not like that part was anything new to him. But a fight like this going on in the middle of the city? That didn't quite make sense. He might have jumped into it, honestly, if he'd known who the good guys were.

Nico grinned and pocketed his phone. He chased after Tora and caught up to her. Eventually they both saw what appeared to be a rather large crater and a fight going on somewhere further along. "What's happening?" Nico asked unnecesarily as he looked down at the crater. He looked up in time to see a piece of metal come flying near them and embedding itself somewhere along the wall of the crater.

Gale saw the fight as electricity arced between her fingers. "This could easily get out of control." She thought as she watched from the relative safety of a rooftop. She then took careful aim and fired two bolts of electricity at the two. They were only meant to stun, not kill.

Finished with preparations for conflict, and Gale up and there I quickly made my way to the crash site and stood next to Gale. I looked at the man in the crater and decided to not try and explain it just uttering the the words, "Who the hell is this dude?"

When I myself heard the commotion I went to it climbing a building by melding to the shadows on its side, after finding no hand holds. Seeing the massive fight I scratched my head drawing my sword that I lazily named Blood Letter, preparing to fight if I was attacked.

 

 

 

(pun intended think of the word bloodletting, the act of cutting ones self or another to get rid of poision in the blood stream. And think about who Shadow's targets are.)

@, Louise was about to reply in the affirmative, when she heard an almighty sound, like an explosion. "What the hell was that?" she exclaimed, turning around to try and pinpoint the sound. "It came from over there," she added, pointing in the direction the sound came from.
