GuillermoGage 246 August 6, 2014 Share August 6, 2014 There was a line in Twilight's Kingdom about how Tirek escaped Tartarus, because that three-headed dog FluffyCerberus wasn't guarding it... a reference to a scene in It's About Time. ...It's About Time is actually one of my least favorite episodes because of the silly plot. While I do understand that it "creates a stable time loop" by having Twilight ultimately still have motivation to go back in time and meet her past self from the few das before... it still has circular logic.. I prefer for there to be an actual original reason for why Future Twilight showed up in the first place. I'm coming up wit headcanons about reformed Discord... Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 August 6, 2014 Share August 6, 2014 It is interesting to see how they referenced this completely random episode in Twilight's Kingdom. It does make up for the fact of not seeing Tartarus in that episode.

GuillermoGage 246 August 6, 2014 Author Share August 6, 2014 The whole reason why I got to th thinkng about his was because... someone on a forum ... before Twilight's Kingdom, thought about if the initial appearance of future Twilight came to warn Twilie about leading Cerbes away... and then that version of future Twilight got replaced b the circular logic future Twilight, which in the context of the situation looked exactly the same. Personally, It's About Time bothers me moreso due to it now having plot significance in the S4 finale. So therefore I prefer aa solid explanation of the timeline to be worked out, figured out, reasoned out.
Old Fluttershy 349 August 6, 2014 Share August 6, 2014 I can't believe I just wasted my time analyzing both scenes where Twilight goes back in time. There is absolutely no significant difference in any of the scenes and the fact that Twilight sais she's from next Tuesday morning prohibits this from being about Tirek. Honestly it was probably some "foreshadowing" thing made by Hasbro (or a really good coincidence). Don't waste your time like I did.
Orablanco Account 3,708 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 I honestly think it was just the writers looking back through their catalogue of episodes and realizing they could make this nifty little callback to an episode the writers consider one of their favorites. They could have easily said Tirek escaped Tartarus without that explanation. It wasn't planned ahead, but its cool nonetheless. Onwards to my DeviantArt page! Sig by the illustrious Kyoshi! Nulln 755 August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 I'm still not sure that was made on purpose. (Actually she just wanted to tell her not to worry about the future.) But she had to have gone back to the past in the first place to warn her about something. She wouldn't have worried and traveled back to tell her not to worry unless something happened in the first place to make a Twilight go back to the past to warn herself of something. And then somewhere down the line, she just decided that what she was trying to say was to not worry, and then went back in time to warn twilight not to worry, and then the time loop starts over. The only reason Twilight wanted to travel back was to warn her past self not to worry. That was very important to her (IMO). And the very first twilight wouldn't travel to the past to tell her not to worry, since she didn't get a visit from a future twilight. So the first twilight must have had another reason to go back. I've always wondered what the reason was.
ShadowPirateX 600 August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 It's pretty interesting to think that Tirek has been around ever since Season 2. "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" ~ Optimus Prime
Invincible 2,092 August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 Felt a bit weak and unnecessary if you ask me. I mean, we could just have another go and say the princesses banished him by scaring him away with the elements of harmony or something, then "Durr, Tirek returned because he heard you gave up the elements". Don't get me wrong, i liked seeing Tartarus being used, a little bit of a callback and then some Cerberus cameo by the end. However, i can't shake the feeling that it was completely unnecessary for the plot. M'aiq the Liar 5,804 August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 time you say? I honestly enjoyed that little call back. FiM has been critasized before for not having much long term continuity between it's episodes (for example flutters learning not to be a doormat/shy 4 times). I enjoyed it because it did use an earlier episode as a call back gag, maintaining the idea that Equestria is a fully functional world and the events in it do have an impact on their world at large. It was also a great time saver excuse, as they didn't have to go into detail about how he escaped from hell, because it was already canon that the guard had left his post. It was a nice little call back to an earlier time in the show, and a very economic way to explain how he escaped. http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <

XD I was about ready to draw a picture. There had to have been a first Twilight though. The future twilight didn't just pop into existence out of nowhere.
sweetolebob18 728 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 Although, because of Future Twilight, Cerberus was caught fairly quickly + they fixed a number of potential problems. You have to wonder "Would it have been worse if she hadn't gone back in time?"
Sidral Mundet 1,666 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 Eh, I'm not a big fan of rectons like this, where you take a random element and suddenly give it more meaning. A good example of a recton would be the letters in Season 1 since it was planned like that (so not really a recton at all). Here it's just "Hey you remember that one thing, well turns out we decided it's important now" Overall it's not a big deal and it doesn't detract from the episode at all but they seem to be doing this sort of thing more often so I'm just giving my two cents on the matter. Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end.
