Tempest simply laughed as a aura spike shot out of the ground under Godric. "I am no fool." He said. "This is only the beginning of what I have in store for you." The bat pony then charged at the griffon with his swords at the ready and slashed at him. "Here, there is no honor. Only death." He thought.

"Anyone who walked all the way up here to see me is at least worth my time. Especially if Femi was willing to take you here." Tricis said. Femi turned her head back but still avoided eye contact with Tricis. "I'll do what I can to help you, but I'll need to know a lot more."

Selune sighed. It was kind of embarrassing to tell the story, especially when she had already "confessed" it in a way earlier.

"You see when i was little i was blind, my eyes were pitch black and the magic within them didn't stabilize quite well. My lineage had magic within the eyes. But mine wouldn't settle down, and whatever the doctors did they couldn't fix it. I was sure to die if this continued for too long." It was like a sad piano music was playing in the rythm of her words, slow, and steady. "Eventually my mother who was a seer saw a way out of this. She said that the sun and the moon had to shine in my eyes together. We traveled across Equestria to find such a place and we eventually reached the frozen north and saw Aurora Borealis. There the full moon's glow reflected upon my eyes and i finally saw..." It might have seemed like she was derailing but this was important as well. "From that time however every time i was under pressure i... "changed". I wasn't aware at first but those who witnessed "her" said her name was Shar and that she was like me but had a strange dark crimson glow around her... like if she was tainted." she looked at her own hooves as if fearing a transformation right there and then. "Some stallions decided to "stop" this... they took it too far. They wanted to scare me at first but then they started touching me the wrong way. "Shar" didn't like that... at all. She fully surfaced that time... and she... she..." she started trembling, she clenched her hooves angry to herself. "She killed them! And every time someone touched me the wrong way she came out. It took me time to escape her grip, to find a way to stop her, to strengthen my mental defenses." She raised her eyes in a silent plea. "It becomes tiring you know? It's taxing to try and love, try to find solidarity, to be with your own family... when someone like her dwells in my mind."

Tricis cut Femi off and spoke to Selune. "How long ago was it that you saw for the first time? What was the date?"

Selune was puzzled. It was as if they knew of this event from earlier experience. But she didn't understand so well.

"I... i don't quite understand the question you are asking. You want to determine its' growth? The growth of Shar? She's... old. I mean she feels "new" to me but her own origins feel old. As old as thousands of years ago. Anyways... the first time i heard the name i was 8. I don't remember much... i think it was around Hearts and Hooves day and i am now 22 right now. But when it fully actualized i was around 14. Does this help in any way? I..." Selune had been feeling she was touching a sensitive subject with her words.

"Miss Tricis? I... you seem to know about this thing more than i do. If i'm not prying into unwanted information may i ask how you came to acquire such knowledge? If you don't want to say i'll be content with it." she tried to be as kind as possible. To be honest the curiosity was killing her. She both wanted, and did not want to know.

"Fourteen years ago." Tricis repeated after doing some mental math. "Yes, that does make sense. I apologize for being cryptic, deer Selune. I don't believe I've even properly introduced myself other than telling you my name!" She adjusted her posture to a more polite sitting position. "My full name is Tricis Dewfall. I'm sure you can tell why I prefer to go by my first name only. And to answer your second question, I know what I know because I've had the time and inclination to learn. If you haven't noticed, I'm a very old lady and I devoted the majority of my life to learning about magic. Also, a distant mistake in my past caused me to learn more than I want to about the occult."

 

"She already knows about Mason," Femi added. "He tried to kill her, that's one of the reasons she came here."

 

"I agreed to help the girl," Tricis responded in a finite tone. "As long as Mason isn't here, he's not my problem."

 

"How could you say that! He-"

 

"He has nothing to do with Selune or Sharr." Tricis interrupted.

Tempest ignored Godric's remark and smirked. "Sure. It's about time I let am old friend out of his cage." He said, as his aura swirled around him like a storm. The bat pony then began to laughe as his body began to shift and change. Multiple tails grew, his eyes glowed a dark red, his size doubled and his actual form took the resemblance of a wolf.

 

Xena took over and glanced at Godric and simply shrugged. "This should be quick." He said as he took a fighting stance and waited.

"Humm.. Let's it to ten percent....", he said as he surrounded himself with a five foot tall ring of wind that cut as though it were a circle of blades rotating around the Griffon. He stabbed his sword into the ground and the arena floor lit ablaze to burn any who stood on it. "I swear Crowbar and I must be the only ones without some kind of monster living in heads", he said with a genuine smile. "This could be fun".

Xena smirked slightly and clawed at the ground. "To be honest, Tempest wasn't even planning on revealing me until later, but that doesn't matter any more as of now. My name is Xena." He said, before charging at Godric with his claws at the ready. The aura beast wouldn't be defeated when he and Tempest were so close to achieving their main goal.

"Greetings, Xena... And, thank you I like to know the names of those I kill", he said before the beast's claws hut his armour. He just sighed and took the air seeing that the claws had successfully gone through his armour into his chest. "Well, no use keeping this in", he said as he removed the armour. "One more ghastly scar..".

"Greetings, Xena... And, thank you I like to know the names of those I kill", he said before the beast's claws hut his armour. He just sighed and took the air seeing that the claws had successfully gone through his armour into his chest. "Well, no use keeping this in", he said as he removed the armour. "One more ghastly scar..".

"What is it with contestants this year removing their armor?" Topaz asked. "It must be a new trend, I guess. Godric has already suffered a pretty gruesome wound, and I'd like to remind those of you in the front rows that rain coats are available."

 

'Glad I fought him before he broke out the super powers,' Frey commented to himself as he watched the fight. 'Damn near a devil to the senses with a wind like that, I can feel it from here!'

"Believe me. I have plenty." Xena growled as he shifted back into Tempest, but was still controlling his body. The bat pony then flew into the air formed his swords. "Now then, shall we begin or shall I run you through without a bit if entertainment." He then took a defensive stance and waited.

Godric was having a noticeable difficulty staying aloft with his wing not fully recovered from being smashed by Mirrorquake in his last fight. He slashes his his sword four times, sending blasts of wind outward to slice Tempest.

(Yeah. Tempest isn't exactly easy to take down, though.)

 

Tempest smirked as he dodged three of the four wind blades. The forth, on the other hand, hit his arm and blood slowly trickled out. "It'll heal. Have to focus." He thought as he fired multiple aura spheres at Godric.

Godric manages to dodge one of the spheres but the two nailed his injured wing, further hindering his flight, and forcing him to land. "Well, this wing is just a hindrance to me at this point..Just get it mended later....", he said as he sliced it off and cautorized the wound with a shot of fire. "Now that I'm free on that hindrance, let us contibur''. He sent a wall flank at Tempest while keeping his circle if wind around him for defense.

Tempest was slightly surprised that Godric would cut off a wing just to win, but firgured that this would only make things mpre interesting. The bat pony then formed a pair of dual swords im his hooves and landed. "I am not one to use a advantage unless it is needed. If you are skilled with a blade, then let's have a simple dual. No monsters or other special, abilities. Does that soind reasonable?" He asked, giving a sly smile.

The Griffin put out the flames on the arena floor and let his winds die away. He just gave the bat - pony s quick nod and stepped within range of the aura blades. "A duel then", he said as he began with a simply fencing style thrust to the pony's neck and a slash to his chest.

Tempest parried both strikes and slashed at Godric's chest before jumping back slightly to avoid a possible counter. He would whittle his opponent away and end this match when he was to tired to fight. "Looks like I'm not the only swordspony here." He thought to himself.

"It looks like this has gone from a Traditional beat em up to an all out sword fight!" Topaz said to the crowd. "These two fighters still aren't showing any sign of giving up and it looks like this is gonna be a long one!"

 

(Sorry for my infrequent replies. I'm stretching myself out really thin, but this is still fun.)

The Griffin slashed out with sword at his neck, the sword segmenting itself around like a whip of blades diamonds of steel, his sword now been wielded as it meant to be. He slashed upwards at him now the blades reconnecting as he pulled the blade back and jumped a bit back resheathing the blade in preparation for Aitjutsu, a sword style that relied on quick slashes and also used the sheath as a weapon.

Tempest felt pain course through his body as Godric 'a blade hit. The bat pony then smirked and simply laughed. "Well, that was interesting." He said. The bat pony then connected his blades at the hilt, forming in the shape of a boomerang, and threw as hard as he could. He then took a defensive stance and waited for Godric's next move.

'' I like how you called for a fight without abilities and yet you can't fight without your aura conbat". He deflected the blades with his sword sheath and struck out at his legs with sword and sheath both. After a few strikes he stepped back to defeat any incoming attacks.

Tempest smirked as he dodged Godric's blade and caught his own. "That was only to form the swords and yours is basically a whip." He said. "I'm just getting warmed up, though." The bat pony then flew at Godric and unleashed a volley of strikes, paying particular attention to aim for vital areas.

 

(Seriously, though. Tempest didn't use any of his abilities.)

"My sword changing attack attack tactics is part of it, not an ability of mine, nor is my control over the elements, that comes from within the sword", he said as he blocked the strokes with his sword sheath and retaliated with his own volley.

Tempest rolled his eyes and dodged the strikes before slashing at the back of Godric's neck. "This griffon is becoming quite tedious." He thought to himself. The bat pony then tried to knock Godric to the ground by going for a sweep to his legs. "I guess I just have to stall until he runs out of energy."
